“Ate here yesterday. The Iced Teas were perfect, best I had in 20 years! Learned that it's a relative of ginger and pretty good for you as well. The salad that came on the side with my rice noodles/tail-on shrimp/pork was so fresh and the rest of the dish was light and refreshing, crispy spring roll too. Fresh cilantro and other herbs! My wife got the pork combo rice platter and loved it! She loved the "perfectly cooked" fried egg, "savory but not too oily." Definitely our new favorite in Juneau!”

Absolutely fantastic experience at Roma Restaurant in Juneau, Alaska!

The food was truly amazing every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can tell they take pride in every plate that comes out of the kitchen. The service was just as impressive friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish.

If you’re in Juneau and looking for a memorable meal, I can’t recommend Roma highly enough. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and make this your dinner spot. Highly recommended!”

“As a Juneauite, I get bummed every year when they close. Had the puff pastry salmon and escalloped potatoes today, had the garlic twisters last week- they hit every time. Going back for dessert soon. Lovely staff and it’s a great spot. Highly recommend!!”

“We were asked to sit anywhere, but then no one came around for another 10 min. The younger wait staff seems hesitant in serving us, finally the one who could be the manager came around and took our orders, dont get me wrong, they were all very polite, but not super attentive. Anyways, the Halibut and chips was OK, super thick and heavy batter, but good flavor. The burger was great, a bit overcooked, but blue cheese and bacon saved it. We also ordered a side salad, they brought us a cesar salad instead, we didn't send it back since we also like Cesar salad.”

“Food was great. Service impeccable. Cocktails delicious. Goat cheese with fig is enough for 4 people. The filet was tender and the wine a great match. But I went for my 50th birthday and somehow that information didn’t make it to the staff. I was not acknowledged at all nor did they even ask if we were celebrating anything special. Given the low attendance and high cost of the food I would have expected better. But a minor miscue on an otherwise exceptional meal. Alas, no reason to go back to Juneau but still worth the trip if you’re there and looking for an alternative to the standard fare in town.”

The staff were welcoming and very attentive! I highly recommend checking this place put while you are in town!”

“Food was ok but not great. Sweet and sour chicken (and pork) was just breaded with red sauce poured over the top of it. Hot & sour soup was tasty but served warm. The fried shrimp on two of our orders was overcooked. Service was good, attentive waitress (but we were the only 4 in the restaurant for a late lunch). Overpriced meals even for Juneau.”

“We spent 3 days in Juneau last week and we liked this place so much we were there every day. Both bartenders -- Jessa and Steven -- were fantastic, attentive, great conversationalists. The drinks were all local-based and the cocktails were high quality. We didn't experience the food at the next-door food truck but saw others wolf it down -- it looked very good. Great chill vibe, awesome view and a little bit out of the cruise boat zone, so busy but not super-crowded. Mix of locals and visitors. Tell the locals you speak to that you're not on a cruise -- their attitude will be much friendlier. Highly recommend.”

“$29 for a double Tito’s and single scotch of some sort my mom ordered. Perfect spot for us travelers as we love dive spots and supporting local. Bartender is having fun doing what she does. Bar stools are great for your wide ass. If you’re looking for bells and whistles, this isn’t it. Bartender gave us other bar suggestions to go to as well for the same type experience.”

“I came across this place online and had to try their authentic Russian dumplings. Upon arriving at this small, old-looking establishment, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly cashier who explained the unique dumplings. Unlike traditional Pel’menis, these dumplings came with curry powder, hot sauce, and cilantro on top instead of the traditional caramelized onions. Initially skeptical, I decided to give them a try. (I tried the potato pelmani) To my delight, they were delicious! I opted to put the hot sauce and sour cream on the side to see how it would turn out, but it turned out to be a great combination. Each serving is very filling and reasonably priced. I’m glad I came here!”

“My cruise ship waiter recommended a filipino food truck by the fort and it was extremely underwhelming. I went to the museum and by sheer luck wandered into Raven Cafe. This place is phenomenal and it’s no farther than a mile away from the fort. We tried the Adobo burrito and a latte and they were great. The burrito was huge and can feed two people. The owner chatted with us and he’s such a cool guy for giving us his time to talk about not only his food but also about Juneau in general. If you want to discover a good Filipino place with great service and even better food, walk a mile from the fort and be surprised: we definitely were.”

“The best bread anywhere in Juneau! It is delicious, free from preservatives and seed oils, dough conditioners, and all the other poison in other bread. It is somehow rigid without being dense, which means it holds up amazing for pre-made sandwiches. It is somehow moist without being wet (unlike Dave's Killer Bread which is doughy). Absolutely the best bread I have had in years.”

“Nice venue, but their beer isn’t phenomenal. Zero stouts to be had. Tried the Kolch, Amber, Pilsner, blonde, and their Rauch Porter. It’s fine though. They’re a larger brewery in Alaska, so they have to turnover beer quicker.”

“Coffee roasted in Alaska? Of course I'm gonna stop. Coffee was what I expected. They had room to dine in and chat or outdoor patio seating if you wanted to watch the people go by. Lots of sights to see locally, to shop, and eat in Historic Downtown Juneau where this coffee shop is located. Don't forget the coffee.
Red Dog saloon is close by. We walked past an old Orthodox church on the way behind town to hit the hiking trails. We went early enough after leaving the cruise ship. There were not a lot of people so the wait was not bad. People got off after us so it likely got busy along with all the shops.”

“This is a nice Heritage location for anyone wanting to avoid downtown. It's in an old garage so in the summer they can open the side doors to let in fresh air, there is a neat loft, and it is quieter than the downtown location with lots of seating. Nice place to work.”

“The coffee is absolutely fabulous!!! I was visiting from Philadelphia and we have a lot of great cafes in the area, but this is seriously my favorite coffee I’ve had in a very long time. We purchased a bag of the Black Wolf Blend for us (whole beans), it’s so smooth, low acidity in taste, and overall super fresh. I got my mom a bag of the Dark Sumatra and she loves it too. I miss their lattes and coffee, but glad I could bring some home (although I wished I would have stocked up). Great place and great coffee!”
