“We had a great experience at Cactus Club. The steaks were cooked as we all wanted. The drinks and selection were great. We splurged and had the desserts London Fog Creme Brulé was excellent. Our server Lara did a great job, and checked in on us from time to time to make sure we were good.
Because we went on a Saturday around 6 PM, we made reservations just in case it was busy enough to be waiting. We would come back to this location again.“

Others at the table enjoyed the pizzas, the chicken Caesar salad and the croissant with honey and blueberries. They were very understanding about our toddler needing to toddle, too!

“Really fun bar right next to Havanna. They have a sign out front but it can still be a bit easy to miss it.
There are steps up and then down to get to the back where the bar is. It is a totally tropical vibe great for honestly all seasons. Hide from winter or keep with summer.
Their happy hour was great, we tried a couple appetizers and drinks, all was good. Prices on happy hour did NOT disappoint!

The drinks are creative with an Asian flair to them. The spot itself is very cool. Love the vibe and atmosphere. Drinks are a bit expensive, but you pay for the atmosphere and being in a speakeasy. They are well made though with creative serving ideas like lights, foam, etc.

Food is not the forte here as their focus is cocktails.“

The entrance might seem a bit interesting as the neighbourhood has been falling apart for a while now but don’t let that deter you to go inside. You’ll find horse racing playing on a TV with names of horses to bet on. You can o my get in if you choose the correct one ;)

Once you do, you’ll be seated inside. You’ll go through an area with pictures of old India and it’s quite refreshing to see that. You’ll be presented with a menu which is a Jungle book repurposed as a drinks menu. Lots of options but I fried the leopard 5/5. Also their chicken 65 is delicious.“

It was a bittersweet moment for all of us but our mood instantly switched to laughter and we almost forgot the cause of our gathering“

The portions were generous, the flavours are like nothing I have ever experienced and the cocktails... Run don't Walk to Zarak. Special mention: The service was great. “Second time here and it's just as good as the first! Our server Zee took wonderful care of us and the wine recommendations from their sommelier were all exceptional as well. The meal was one of those outstanding experiences where attentive, friendly and professional service coincided with delicious dishes and atmospheric ambience. It was the right choice to go on a Monday night since the restaurant is not quite as busy so the noise level was energetic but not boisterous. I dislike restaurants that are so busy and loud that you have to strain to hear your dining mates. Many restaurants in the city just don't do enough about the acoustics which hugely impacts the dining experience. Every dish we had was outstanding and had a real consistent point of view that line up with the restaurant's intentions. The highlights were the crispy eggplant, trout and the duck confit. The delicate accompaniments with the different textures and veg elements really elevated the main proteins and went so well with the wine suggested. We will return for more.“
