“There’s a reason Haidilao has become so successful around the world. Even after establishing itself as a leader in the hot pot industry, they never seem to stop innovating. Every time I visit, there’s something new.

But what truly sets Haidilao apart from everyone else is the level of service. And it’s not something that can simply be described as “professional” or “friendly.” There’s a unique culture here that makes you feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the door — happy, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. Many restaurants can provide high-quality, professional service. But that feeling of being completely embraced by a warm, joyful atmosphere, and being genuinely looked after, is something I’ve only experienced at Haidilao.

Over time, I’ve come to remember the names of many of the staff here. But two people I especially want to remember and thank are the managers, Kid and Vivian.

I’ve seen them handle the restaurant under intense pressure and keep everything running efficiently and smoothly. I’ve also seen how they respond when unexpected problems arise — staying calm and flexible, communicating clearly, and finding ways to resolve the situation. They have an excellent eye for detail, strong judgment, and the ability to make good decisions in challenging moments.

And a special thank-you to Kid. To us, you’ve become much more than a restaurant manager — you feel like family. We’ll keep coming back, again and again. And I genuinely recommend that everyone experience Haidilao for themselves — not only for the food, but for the unique culture and warmth that make this restaurant truly one of a kind.“

“Haven’t been here in a while. Feels like this place has been around since the pandemic.

Clean, bright, and you can pick your own ingredients. The selection is smaller than Big Way, but still decent.

The mala dry pot came to about $57 — enough for roughly a meal and a half, though still a bit pricey. Probably over $30 per person for a full meal.

Ice cream is comparable to Big Way, though not as good as Dollar Shop. Members get 30% off on Tuesdays, and weekday afternoons come with a complimentary drink.

Overall, the food is pretty average by Vancouver standards, but there’s usually no wait and the environment is nice.“

“Very decent hotpot meal. The dipping is the heart of this place. Perfectly flavorful yet not too salty. The price is a bit too high and there is no convenient parking space. The waiters are super helpful and ardent. I recommend lunch 2 people meal. Getting the standard meals is not a good deal.“

“We’ve been coming here for at least 16 years. I wish I took more photos of this last visit, but we just scarfed all of our delicious food down. Make sure to get the shrimp balls 🦐⚽🏀🥎 Everything is always fresh and the service has always been great from everyone, but especially Victor. He’s the very best! There’s $20 AYCE now, so no excuse not to try Happy Lamb at least once…you’ll definitely be back! The impressive drink vending machine alone is worth a visit 😃“

“We had such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the ice cream was amazing too! Everything was great, but what really made our visit special was the outstanding service from Ethan.

He was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and amazing with my two very energetic little kids! 😂 They couldn’t sit still for long, but Ethan noticed right away and kindly brought them some toys to keep them entertained. It made such a big difference and allowed us to enjoy our meal much more comfortably.

It’s the little things like this that make a restaurant stand out. Ethan went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and we truly appreciated his kindness and attentiveness.

My parents have been going here since my oldest sister was born and have been taking me since I was a kid, this place is truly amazing and will forever be my favourite comfort meal spot in vancouver. Staff are very kind and I have never had a bad interaction here. Highly recommend the kimchi hot pot which is my go to!“

“This is one of the best AYCE hot pot establishments I've ever been to!!! The quality and the flavour of the hot pot ingredients, chicken bone broth, and snacks are off the charts, and so are the popsicles given after meals, not to mention that we can get amazing beverages infinitely if we want unless they're out of supply!!! Because of this, I hope to go there again someday“

Ordered gamjatang hotpot. Very generous amount of meat, veggies and ricecake.

Love the side dishes and staff are nice to ask if we wanted refills on them. Overall, really good meal and good value.“

“Nice place to go for brunch or lunch with your friends. The portions are huge, and the food definitely didn’t disappoint! But the best part of this restaurant is the ahjumma (Korean auntie), who is super friendly. She always checks in and asks for our feedback on the food, which makes the experience feel even more welcoming.“

“Been going here for decades, usually take out. Hadn't been here in a while. Had a dine in experience that reminded me how great the food here really is.

Yeah it's not inexpensive, but the value is definitely there. Dine in portions seem more generous than take out, so that's a bonus. Plus, freshly prepared makes a huge difference. I forgot that.

I can give you a long list of terrible Chinese restaurants, but only a short list of places I would send a friend. I highly recommend Burnaby Palace, it's definitely one of the good ones. Enjoy!“

“Pretty solid Taiwanese hot pot place. Broth tastes fresh, veggies look like they were chopped same day, and the meat slices come out nicely arranged, not frozen bricks. Lots of options for add-ons, so it’s easy to tweak your pot. Staff is chill, service pace felt okay, works for me.“
