We especially enjoy the PAAPRI CHAAT, a unique starter...we had never had this before visiting Turmeric, so it's our special treat when we go. It's quite filling. “Absolutely phenomenal food. Delicious flavours, perfect portion size, and stunningly plated/garnished. I wish I took pictures everything was so beautiful. I had the butternut squash risotto and my husband had a the jerk chicken and we both adored our meal. We both got the guava cheesecake and we can’t stop thinking about it!“

“This place is absolutely amazing. from the moment we walked in, we got smiles, we were seated within a few minutes ( showed up when it was busy).The food was fantastic!! The staff were very polite and the lady running the bar was an absolute gem. Even the manager was making rounds making sure customers were happy. When they state porkbelly and you get shaved roast porkbelly that is not seasoned and because it is thinner than their bacon super chewy and distracts from the other flavours of the dish which are okay. If they rubbed it and braised the belly and cut proper thick slices for porkbelly it would do the oppisite and add to the dish 🥲.“

“We visited again from Sask and did not disappoint! Amazing! Well worth the wait in line! I had the tuna on salad! And my husband had the halibut fish and chips with a side of the chowder. The chowder was his favourite. Still taking about it. The staff were also fantastic. Friendly and very efficient! For the amount of people served and the small space we were amazed at how spotless the kitchen was. Highly recommend a visit here!!“

“Having worked in some of Victoria's premier top tier restaurants in the 80's in my previous career, I am able to recognise dining excellence. This is exactly what I experienced at Il Terrazzo a few days ago. Everything was excellent. The flavour in the dinners I experienced was truly next level, high end dining. Our waiter David was the consummate professional, offering excellent recommendations, paying attention to every detail, and never left us waiting for anything while simultaneously managing to be wholly unintrusive. Even the bus person who cleared our table knew all etiquette, had clearly been taught how to do the job with excellence. Moreover, I feel the need to comment on the portion sizes, they are truly generous. This is often not the case in high end restaurants. Despite being a very upscale restaurant, with a price point that is in line with this, the value proposition remains excellent due to the incredible flavours, texture, and food quality. Big shout out to the kitchen staff, we will be back to enjoy more of their amazing menu.“

“A genuinely lovely high tea experience. What stood out immediately was how thoughtfully they are to accommodated dairy allergies. Something many places still overlook or handle poorly. The interiors are elegant without feeling forced, and the overall atmosphere makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience.

The high tea itself was well-executed: balanced, visually appealing, and, most importantly, genuinely delicious rather than just decorative. It’s clear there’s attention to both detail and guest experience here.

“So, this was a take a picture before I ate fail; I even forgot to take a picture of my empty tray. But thankfully, there were some very kind people at Wheelies who allowed me to take a shot of another sandwich before it went out to the customer who ordered it.

I had their special and it was delicious. A masterfully creative play on a Big Mac (my inference - apologies if I got that wrong). It was supremely satisfying and a flavour explosion. So many things on their menu look absolutely outstanding. I can't wait to go back and work my way through it, and also their cocktails menu.

I'm gonna give a special mention to Working Culture who pointed me in the direction of Wheelies. They were on my to patronise list for today as I continued my search for amazing sandwiches, but alas, they were out. I'll pre-order next time.

“Wanted a nice vegan lunch and found this was a couple blocks away from our hotel (Strathcona). Food was amazing! The mushroom soup was the best I ever had and the Mac bowl makes me want to come back for more. Highly recommended. All vegan, gluten free, locally sourced ingredients. “This has been my favourite coffee shop for a long time, and it just got even better now that they’re open on Friday and Saturday evenings.

During the day, it’s my go-to spot for excellent coffee and one of the best breakfast menus around. Everything is consistently fresh, delicious, and made with care, and the staff always make you feel welcome.

The new evening service is fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious, the wine selection is great, and the cocktails are beautifully crafted. The atmosphere transforms into the perfect place to relax with friends, enjoy a date night, or simply unwind after a long week.

It’s rare to find a place that does both breakfast and evening dining so well, but they have nailed it. Highly recommend, whether you’re stopping by for your morning coffee or spending the evening enjoying great food and drinks.“

“Discovery Coffee is a favourite spot when my wife abd I visit Victoris each March, and stay at the Chateau Victoria. We mostly go for a coffee, and sometimes a sweet treat. Today, we had to keep ourselves from ordering a delicious doughnut! I particularly enjoy a Sou Mocha. Yum! It is the perfect place to sit outdoors on a sunny/ish day!!“

“A very lovely place that I’m glad is in the downtown area. I haven’t tried all of their options, but their Onigiri is very well-prepared and the only thing I find myself eating if I need a quick lunch. Fairly priced, too, making going there often affordable.

Their imported items are amazing and vast in terms of what they have, along with having an array of great-tasting items. Their canned coffee is a personal favourite of mine. To mention, their staff is incredibly hospitable and helpful, and, at least from what I’ve personally experienced, have a stellar memory when it comes to regulars.
