Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... “Stopped into the Phillips Brewery for mid afternoon break on a cold day shopping.Mostly hightops with stools with an industrial vibe and beer being brewed in an adjacent room.Enjoyed a flight of 4 beer for $9 and apretzel sourced from Yonni’s.Fairly busy and quick service with 3 servers available who had detailed knowledge of the characteristics of the beer.A fun way to try different varieties.“

“Yay! Finally a poutine that isn't stupid salty and so fresh and flavorful! Service was pleasant and quick. Easy downtown location on the wharf and wee birds politely waiting for remnants after people left. Lots of locals waiting on their lunch. The most pillowy cheese burger I've ever eaten, ordered as listed. The curds aren't as salty as the ones we've had elsewhere (and bought at Costco) and the fries were fresh and hot, even a random steak fry made an appearance! One of my favorite Canadian poutines for sure!“

“Visited as part of an Alaska cruise. Victoria was the last port before the ending at Seattle. Very nice little craft brewery and distillery. Tried an excellent chocolate stout beer and some even better Irish style and Scotch style whiskeys. One aged in wine casks was to die for. Very informative short tour.“

“Probably my favourite place for a beer and food in Victoria. I always use the outside seating as it is open all year and is very dog friendly. The beer is great and the food is too because they actually don't sell much food beyond a few snacks. This means that you can bring in food from any of the restaurants around or stuff from home. The outside seating is covered and in the winter it is enclosed and there are heaters (though never been there much below 0C).“

“We were looking for a nice lunch spot on our trip to Victoria and came across this place on google, the reviews were great so figured we would give it a try. So glad we did! The great reviews are warranted. We each got a sandwich, the chicken and the pork and we both loved them. I also got a side of soup and the small is perfect size to enjoy and go with your sandwich. We aren’t riders but still thought the theme and decor was super neat. If ever back in Victoria we will definitely be visiting again.“

“Ferris' is a great spot for seafood eats for casual, intimate dining without being formal. Portions are generous, beverages are good, and the overall vibe is cool. The menu on offering had a lot of variety including pasta dishes, soups, fried fare , and more. The fresh oysters on the half shell and our other appetizer were delivered to our table within minutes of ordering, and our mains arrived at the perfect time. All of our dishes were piping hot and fresh from the kitchen. The food was incredibly delicious; mains, sides, and all. The fish and chips in particular were superb -- battered and fried perfectly. The three of us all left very satisfied with the amount we were served. Only minus was the very moody lighting inside. It was hard to see my friends just a few feet in front of me before my eyes adjusted!“

When ordering a flight, you're given printed tasting notes for each of the beers, arranged in a suggested tasting order. Great selection to choose from (including products suitable for people with gluten issues, like my wife!)“

“I always stop here if I’m riding the Galloping Goose trail. It’s a bright, sunny cafe with a great selection of delicious drinks, food, ice cream and more. They have really great outdoor seating for sunny days as well as a good-sized indoor space. Great place for a coffee, a snack, and a conversation.“

“Jackson's Ice Cream is located on the incredible Fisherman's Wharf. They had fast service, a lot of options, and the quality of the ice cream was excellent. I highly recommend taking a trip down to the Wharf and having lunch followed by some delicious ice cream from Jackson's!“

The rooms are exquisitely designed to create a very comfortable environment. The room features a private balcony over the water which affords a very Unique peaceful experience The location is very convenient to all the highlights of downtown Victoria and also the beautiful Seascapes along Dallas road..Beacon hill park is very walkable from the wharf. “We used to order from Jones BBQ but haven't for about 2 years. We just did and unfortunately are very disappointed. The quality has gone downhill. The brisket on the totchos was very little, and what was there was mostly fat - not just a "fatty cut of brisket," but actual chunks of fat thrown in there. Also, the pulled pork sandwich was super greasy and the bun was saturated. We only ate half of our dinner because the food was unappetizing. We did call to give feedback and were told that if we don't want that fatty brisket, we need to ask for a leaner cut. Well, that wasn't the case two years ago. So overall, prices are up, quality is down, and the service was poor. Even after reporting the issues and that our stomachs weren't feeling great from all the grease, we got an "I'm sorry, have a wonderful day." They knew we weren't satisfied with the food and didn't offer any sort of remedy. They couldnt have made it any more obvious that they dont care. We definitely won't be back.“

Great food, amazing service (Ollie was our server and was fantastic), great drinks and selection. Best of all the prices were reasonable and they had a special dog menu for food. It’s so hard to find great places that are dog friendly but they go above and beyond to make pet owners feel welcome. Please keep up the great work!“
