“Super delicious food and amazing service, very thoughtful regarding allergies as well. The food and service were so good that my friend ate his entire bowl even though he was full as not to look as if he didn’t like his ramen!!!
The broth is super creamy! Free spicy option as well and inexpensive refill.
5 stars“

“Amazing little place definitely a must try!!! The ramen is so fatty, flavourful and full of depth. Had the extra spicy miso ramen and shoyu ramen, both 10/10! The gyoza is also fantastic. The pork melts in your mouth and the service is great.“

“I think this place is considered to be the best ramen place in Vancouver. I went to the Robson location, and the line up was crazy long.
There are two options for ramen; either you get the tonkotsu pork broth base or the vegan broth base. I got the negi-goma ramen for $13.95, which is stronger in flavour due to the added sesame (don't think that belongs in Hakata ramen, but whatever) and scallions, and I also think it has more lard / richness. I added a soft-boiled egg for $2.
I thought the noodles looked appetizing, and I think it’s good too. However, I think I’m just not a fan of tonkotsu ramen / Hakata ramen / Fukuoka ramen.“

“I got takeout today (Aug. 27) and the food was PERFECT!!!! People rave about Ramen Danbo, but that place is mediocre at best.
I bought the creamy chicken black ramen for $16 (I tipped), which I THINK is the tonkatsu black ramen and it tasted SO DIVINE. I’ve been to Japan and all I ate there was ramen and I think this is the closest authentic Japanese ramen I’ve ever had. Noodles was perfect, broth, and chashu. I can’t believe this place is in a food court. I’d definitely get more takeout here.
They don’t take AMEX, which is fine. The service was incredibly friendly. Just the same service I used to get in Japan.
Not the place’s fault, but I was getting catcalled and there were few weirdos around because of the location (downtown East Hastings). Won’t stop me from buying here though!! Can’t wait.“

“Ramen Kounotori is a good choice for late late sunny afternoons or even early evenings for the following reasons: the high ceilings, the beautiful decor, the mixture of post modern chic tones of concrete, pastel, wood, and blue. It’s a mixture of a warm and cool, postmodern vibe. The ramen is tasty, up until now the first three choices have been savoured with relish and delight. Service is most charming accompanied by smiles, good wishes & pleasant sounding nihon-rhythmic flourishes. At the end of the week, and later in the evenings, the café is well attended. Ramen here can be well appreciated on a cold fall day, but no less during the rest of the year with any weather.“

“Undoubtedly five stars. Came with a couple friends whom recommended it and was highly impressed. Our experience was so enjoyable from start to finish in all aspects with a lively vibe, delicious food and staff's bubbly energy which is some of the best I've been around. If you want attentive and friendly service with an inviting atmosphere Ramen Danbo in Kitsilano is The Place.“

“Came for the first time on St. Patrick’s Day. I ordered ramen and requested to remove veggies. I tried Yokohama Iekei Ramen & Karaage on my first time here. I ended up eating karaage without dipping the tartar sauce because it was better without any sauce.“

“Updated Review:
I’ve dined in here a few times recently and was not being led down. The food is flavorful, and the noodles are nicely cooked.
Previous Experience (Takeout):
I wasn’t happy with my takeout order in the past. The noodles weren’t properly cooked, and the dough was sticking together, likely during the cooking stage.“

“I’ve walked past this place plenty of times, located near T&T at the 1st and Renfrew complex, and I’m so glad I decided to finally try it. We ordered the Black Ramen with spice and it was freaking amazing. Rivals that of the ramen downtown! I’m genuinely so impressed. The broth is so rich with flavour and I’m a huge fan of the crispy garlic pieces on top! The Hamani Roll was also fantastic. It seemed a tad pricy at first but when it came, it was smothered with scallops and totally worth it. Would definitely order both again.“

“The service was really nice, the restaurant is a little small and there is often lineup. The $10 deal during September was really good value!! There is not much beef but it was very tasty and the quantity of noodles is a lot! Also they have garlic chips and other vinegar/oil to add. They were out of melon sofa so I got calpico soda and it had a lemon in it so u was surprised but it was pretty good! Not much ice cream in it though. There is a free ice cream at the end if you sign up for a free membership.“

“For those new to the joy of mazesoba, I took a video of how to enjoy every last bit of it. Once you have finished eating the mazesoba noodles, you will feel sad that you are unable to lick the bowl, have every last streak of awesome sauce and 'eat the bowl clean' like your Asian mom told you to do growing up. You will think what a waste of the delicious sauce, all those nice bits of minced meat, seaweed, and spring onion. And then they will offer you a few spoonfuls of rice. You add it into the bowl and use it to soak up all the delicious sauce and pick up all the yummy bits. You will add the delicious homemade vinegar that you have been enjoying eating the entire meal. And when you finish and the bowl is clean, you will, for the rest of your life, wonder why other delicious noodle places don't offer this as part of an expected piece of noodle life. ?
Vegetarian options: The most delicious vegetarian mazesoba ever. So worth it.“

“I've had their 5 ramen bowls many times over. They're well made, tasty, easy to prepare and decently priced. Picking up at the Franklin Street location is a breeze, too.“

“We could say one of the best ramen in Vancouver. Had low expectations before coming in because of the reviews saying it's not as good as before. But the broth is so goood and very generous serving for a cheap price compared to other ramen shops. All of us had our bowls for take out. The only thing that we didn't like is the scoop of garlic on top of the ramen. When I mixed it with the ramen, I just tasted garlic. Why do they put lots of garlic tho?“

“Conveniently located ramen restaurant, with lots of options. On my last visit I ordered the vegetarian ramen. It was really good and was the perfect portion size to leave you feeling satisfied. I loved the crispy lotus root, it added a nice texture to the soup. Great lunch option if you work nearby. Excellent service and great location“

“I visited this place after hearing great things about it. (I’m a big fan of ramen, but I don’t enjoy broths that are too greasy or heavy, and I’m also not fond of strong meaty flavors)
the broth here was delicious, and overall I was really satisfied. The server was kind, and the food was great. I definitely recommend this place.“

“The ramen here is comparable to Ichiran Ramen. They use the thin noodles and it is cooked aldente. The broth is perfectly flavored, not too sweet. Everything about my Tonkotsu Ramen was perfectly harmonious. The charshui was the best I have ever had. No stinky pork smell and well marinated. The charshui was better than Ichiran Ramen for sure. I guess the only thing that was lacking was the atmosphere but when the food is so good it really doesn’t matter.“

“I always go to their different branches and this time, I’ve visited the one close to the Vancouver Library. I ordered Chashu Tamago ramen. I always love the noodle in their ramen. Love the tamago too. Chashu was just right and complimented well with the noodle.
It’s a 4* for me since it’s great but not the best I’ve had. I find the soup broth too salty. Overall, I’d still come back.“
