“From the first spoonful, you can tell they put a lot of care into every bowl. The broth is incredibly rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the noodles have that perfect chewy texture that makes every bite satisfying.
The chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and all of the toppings felt thoughtfully balanced rather than just thrown in. Everything tasted fresh, and the quality really stood out.
What I also appreciate is the atmosphere. It's cozy, clean, and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel looked after without being overbearing. Even when it's busy, the service is efficient, and the food comes out quickly.
It's the kind of place I find myself whenever I'm craving a comforting bowl of ramen. There are plenty of good ramen shops in Vancouver, but Maruhachi has earned a permanent spot on my list due to their consistency.“

“First time here for lunch and it was good. We were fortunate that we got a seat right away. Food came out within 5min and we were in and out in 30min. After we were done there was line up out the door abiut 5-6 ppl. $6 for 6 pieces of pork is worth it. I recommend to add extra noodles for $1 or $2! I was still hungry afterwards. Add the 3 gyozas and pop for $5 was ok too.
$48 plus tip is about right to have food food on Robson.“

“Ordered #1 Tonkesu ramen with suggested noodle and spice level and it’s perfect. Chashu doesn’t have a weird smell and soup base isn’t too thick or salty. They also serve really fast so it only took us 30min to finish when we arrive around 5:45PM on 7/1.“

“Came for the first time on St. Patrick’s Day. I ordered ramen and requested to remove veggies. I tried Yokohama Iekei Ramen & Karaage on my first time here. I ended up eating karaage without dipping the tartar sauce because it was better without any sauce.“

“The broth is perfect! I feel the taste absolutely the same as one I had in Japan! At first the portion seems a bit small compared to Canadian size but it turns out enough for your tummy. The dine-in area is not spacious so my recommendation is avoid the peak hours.“

“I enjoyed my visit to Fuku Ramen and Udon in the East Vancouver area on First Avenue. A compact resteraunt serving traditional ramen and udon dishes. It was a pleasure to find in the crowd of restaurants located in the area. Bubble tea and combos available as well.“

“The best ramen🍜 store we have visited so far in downtown Vancouver.“

“The great ramen fever has mostly broken by now so I have a soft spot for anyone still tending that particular fire. I wanted to like this place before a single bowl hit the table. The concept is sharp. We went in on the signature shoyu and the black garlic. And here is where it gets slippery to describe because nothing was wrong. Nothing at all. The food simply never crossed the threshold from competent into haunting, never planted the small hook in the chest that drags a person back. That is not a verdict against the kitchen. This is honest, real cooking, and it has earned its own loyal congregation, so do not let one undecided table steer you off. Plenty will find exactly what they want here. Time well spent on my end, zero regrets, just not yet a love story.“

“The spicy chicken ramen was flavorful and satisfying with a rich, comforting broth. Just a heads-up—it leans pretty heavily on the spicy side, so if you’re sensitive to heat, you may want to dial it back a notch. Overall, a solid bowl, and I’d definitely come back to try more of the menu.“

“We wanted something on the lighter side because it was hot outside. This hit the spot. It wasn’t too busy and we got a table right away. The noodles were nice and chewy in the broth was hot. The cold beer on the side, balanced out my meal.“

“Super authentic and delicious ramen place. Pork charsiu was perfect. Miso broth was amazing. Standard noodles were thin somen like noodles i got the lowest spice level mild, which was per spicy but still really good. Will be back soon. There was always a line outside to get in.“

“Got a medium size, hot spice curry with chicken katsu, spinach, cheese, and pumpkin croquette. Next time I'd probably skip the cheese, or get a large instead for a better balance.
+ The chicken katsu was juicy/tender inside but still maintained a nice crunch
+ The croquette is a good addition if you want something sweet.
+ The spinach was fresh and the free pickles were tasty
- The hot wasn't very spicy, I wish there was a spicier option“

“From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. The food arrived quickly and looked fantastic. After the first bite, it was clear why this place has such a strong reputation. The broth was deeply flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the toppings added great texture and balance. The portion size was generous, and the quality of the ingredients was excellent. Combined with professional service and a comfortable setting, it made for a memorable meal.“

“I woke up this morning craving lettuce wraps. I had no idea about this Japanese restaurant. I ran some errands and then found this place. I can honestly say that the lettuce wrap crunch munch was SO delicious. I’ll be back. Wonderful kind staff to. Thank you.“

“It was quite good. Expected a little more flavor wise but all in all very good and the house made noodles were delicious. Be aware though about their restrictions when it comes to paying with CC or Amex. They’re quite upfront about it though, so it’s hard to miss.“

“My husband and I came here for a late night dinner after 9pm. The restaurant obviously had less customers. I had a “深夜食堂” feel (a late night canteen. I felt it was still lively and warm to customers who could eat late night dinner or snacks.
We ordered their signature beef noodles and one with intestines. Both were good. The noodles were freshly made by the chef in the kitchen. We could see the chef who pulled the noodles was a lady. She had strong arms and great energy pulling the noodles and making them fresh for customers. That’s was awesome 👏🏼. Usually we see a male chef to do that.
The broth of the signature beef noodles was light but I could add their special vinegar or spicy oil to get to the level of spicy I wanted.
There is free street parking in the neighborhood. Service was great. We would like to go back and try other dishes especially that we can choose the thickness or width of the noodles. That’s the most interesting part 👍✌🏼“

“Ordered online to pickup.
- The estimation of completion was horrible (kept changing)
- Luckily the food was great, like other Kokoro's
- The inside was quiet, layout looked nice
- Not as hyped as the Metrotown location“

“I usually get either the combo or the ramen, tried the Pho today for the first time and was suprised by its quality. Have tried Pho at other places on campus but they’re pretty meh or bland, would recommend Beef Pho for people who like noodle soup with deep, flavourful taste, can ask for chilli sauce packets if you want to add a little bit of kick to it - certified by a Viet lol“

“Wow. We have sampled many Ramen places but this one was absolutely amazing.
First, the vibe was strongly cultural/authentic, but with a modern/rustic decor and chill Asian music. Second, the waiter promptly brought up a carafe of cold water and two glasses. This amenity is always important to me because it indicates both thoughtfulness and efficiency.
I always visit the washroom first to give the cleanliness of a place and this one was squeaky clean. I had to pass by the kitchen to get there, and got a chance to see how sparkling and spotless the kitchen was, stovetop and all.
We were soon served the dishes we chose. Do not skip the appetizers here! The potstickers were the best I've ever had anywhere!
Finally, so was the Ramen. Incredibly flavorful broth, creamy and savory without being too salty as I often find it to be in DFW. The noodles were just right, and the extra soft boiled egg was worth the small upcharge, as they are marinated.
Two thumbs up for this place. I should mention the waiter was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was a memorable part of our trip to Vancouver!!“
