“The food and service were outstanding. My cousin and I were originally going for happy hour so small bites but the food was so good we ended up sharing the tuna tartare, which had a little kick and so scrumptious, the seafood steamer with clams, mussels, scallops and prawns all so tender and the sauce so delicious we ordered a side of bread to absorb all the sauce, the herb crusted lamb cooked perfectly and though we were so full and hadn't anticipated on eating so much topped the dinner off with the chocolate delice, oh so chocolately rich. I highly recommend the restaurant and reserving first.”

Friendly staff, good coffee, and convenient location for folks who just want to walk around and it will make for a nice regular spot for after we relocate!”

“I just checked out this new little brewery in Sidney for the first time, and happened to try the freshly tapped Strawberry Shortcake Sour, which honestly had the best and strongest strawberry flavour I’ve ever tasted in a beer! It was so good I had to take home a Crowler. With plenty of beer and cider options on tap, a selection of local snacks, board games, events, and the option to bring in takeout from elsewhere, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s clear that they value fostering relationships with other local businesses, and are already making a positive impact on the Sidney community.”

“Delicious food prepared in Cheffy’s own kitchen, good selection of British food, very convenient when cooking isn’t an option, great variety, inexpensive (the fewer visits to the supermarket, the more the savings), the menu changes each week and friendly, helpful staff. Hint: Their delicious scones, with a different variety every week, are very popular and sell out quickly, so it’s a good idea to order them early in the week. 🥮”

“The whole family was on Vancouver Island, BC, and was heading back to Swartz Bay for a ferry trip to Vancouver, but we decided to stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant to also celebrate a family member’s birthday. We randomly chose Maples Maple Chinese Restaurant, and we were not disappointed, the food was delicious and budget-friendly.

In addition, Moon, the attendant, provided excellent service, from helping us choose our food to serving it and handling the checkout. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Just a small tip: if you can, try to book in advance, as it can get busy at times.”

“I have been frequenting this Subway for over 16 years. There is fairly low turnover which says a lot. The staff know me, which means I eat there a lot. I always get great service and the sub is exactly the way I like it. The new design of the store is nice, but that's not the reason I eat there. I go there because I know the person who is making my sub and that is more important than anything.”
