“They have so many unique cocktails to choose from! I obviously ended up getting a mezcal-based drink, and it was smoky, smooth, and beautifully golden. I asked for no cherry, but it came with one anyway. I went with it because its flavour wasn’t strong. Not sure if the server was busy or just a bit impatient while we ordered, but oh well. I’ll definitely be back to try something new!“

Barra 41 is the bar attached to Minerva's Greek restaurant (which has been around forever) and serves the same great quality food from it's kitchen. All the food & beer on tap is good, and you can also order from the restaurant menu. The atmosphere & service of this bar takes Barra the next levrl. Highly recommended and worth the trip to karisdale. Happy hour specials are offered daily from 3 - 5 PM.“

He explained us all the cocktails and techniques they use to make the drinks which made our experience very special. Camel milk clarified drink we would’ve never thought of trying. Big selection of beers. We had a flight of 3 beers from Changing Colors all were delicious. We were suprised the flights were so big, I think they were 14oz.
This place has great atmosphere and vibes and was definitely a highlight of our bar experiences. Will definitely return.“

“The first thing that hit me was how clean the venue was. The staff was very friendly. We chose the prix fixe. The steak was one of the best I’ve tasted because there were no tough bits at all and the sauce was SO good. The side salad was well balanced. I am GF so I asked for veggies on the side and they gave me these grilled mushrooms that were very addictive. The cocktails were delicious and my husband’s wine was so good.“

“We came on a weekday and the restaurant was packed. Got seated promptly as we had reservations. The service was average, probably because everyone was super busy with other tables.

Food was good! Some dishes were a little too salty for our tastes (which seems to be a theme for Savio Volpe as well...), but we enjoyed the bread and pizza a lot. The portions were good sized, with enough for leftovers.

“Just when you think they can't raise their game any higher Hy's manages to find a way. We attended the Calgary locations 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 26th and it was spectacular. The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. A huge thankyou to Barb and the entire Hy's team!“

“We had a wonderful dining experience at Croquette Brasserie. Our waiter was both helpful and charming, adding a personal touch to the evening. We started with the moules-frites, sharing the mussels and fries as an appetizer. The dish was outstanding—perfectly cooked mussels paired with crisp, golden fries. For our main course, we chose pasta sourced from their sister restaurant, Fiore Famiglia, which happens to be our long-time favorite neighborhood Italian spot. As expected, the pasta was impeccable, showcasing the quality and flavors we’ve come to love. A special highlight was the crème brûlée, torched at our table by the waiter. Watching the caramelized sugar form into a crackling, golden crust was such a treat, and the result was as delicious as it was entertaining. After a little tour and tasting experience, I left with some spirits that will be making a debut in home cocktails this holiday season. Including: 1. Port barrel Wallflower gin. Very unique 2. Strawberry gin, (using real local strawberries for flavouring) 3. Creme de Cassis perfect in champagne or on ice cream (this will be fun to experiment with) 4. Smoke & Oak whisky (nice depth, no mix required) I discovered it's under new ownership and management, their impact is already beginning to shine through, I know I'll be returning to see even more of the "upgrades." Sit and sip cocktails inside where you can see the stills while being served by knowledgeable (and creative) staff.“

“I really want to give this a 4 or 4.5 but I’m giving them a 5 because the potential is definitely there - and I would like to encourage them in that journey!
The service was attentive, friendly and polite, but when asked direct questions, the answers were cryptic possibly cheeky but nonetheless unclear. It is already a bit awkward to grab the attention of a busy server, and to be left with non-answers was a bit frustrating.
The food was tasty and inventive. We had their tasting menu and each dish had a balance of so many flavours. But I guess that’s sort of my complaint, it was like some dishes trying to accomplish too much that each dish sort of tasting the same. All dynamic in flavour but it was one pow after another. Possibly not a bad thing for many people!
Interior was very cool!!! Even the outside patio was very nice. We sat a the bar and fridge door would open and close in bright cool color that strained my eyes after being in a dark room.
Broadly speaking what a fun place for a date night, but the restaurant has a few details it could iron out at its price point.“
