“Kaizen was super delicious!!! It exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a local sushi spot with fresh fish and I’m happy to report that I think we found our new go-to spot. I’m usually a bit picky with sushi places and haven’t returned to any so far in the area but the fresh was really fresh, portions were extremely sizable, and service was kind and attentive.
We already started digging in before I took the photos so please excuse the missing pieces! The chirashi bowl had about 15 pieces of big sashimi and was really worth the bang for your buck. The rolls were also huge with good pieces of fish! The hotate nigiri was my star of the show and the yummiest bite! The salmon egg nigiri was pretty salty though so that’s the only one I’d probably skip next time.
Overall my husband and I really enjoyed our dinner and I hope this place gets lots of love!! The owners and wait staff were working incredibly hard! Can’t wait to return again soon.“

“I never review restaurants but if you are reading this, I’m really hungry right now….and just wanted to share to my food people, that Kyoto Palace Japanese Steakhouse is the best Japanese restaurant I still have ever been to and my favorite restaurant growing up as a kid… #1 miso soup and salad are just never the same anywhere else..the same chef Jose that would make roosters with the scrambled eggs still works there over 20 years later..If I had yelp or seriously reviewed restaurants I would 10/10 them for never changing a single thing about this place. Just sharing for my food friends keep scrolling if you don’t care about this post 🙂“

“Decided to get sushi for Valentine’s Day with the wife, they were able to set us immediately. Very busy for Valentines so expected a few delays but the staff were great and Sheamir provided great service. Loved the unagi nagiri, wife really enjoyed the ramen, and we both enjoyed the hot Cheetos sushi roll.“

“We came to Blue Pagoda to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly such a special experience.
Everything was wonderful — the hospitality, service, atmosphere, and food were all exceptional. You can really feel the personal touch in every detail, from the warm welcome to the beautiful food presentation. It made the whole evening feel memorable and special.
My wife and I genuinely enjoyed everything, and it was clear that a lot of care and heart went into creating this place.
I’ve known the owners for years and have always admired how much passion they put into everything they do — and Blue Pagoda is another beautiful example of that.
Highly recommend for a date night, celebration, or just a really great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Came here for a quick dinner from SF, and I want to appreciate how big each piece of sushi is compared to how it is in my city. They are very big/generous compared to sushi places in SF which are very thin and more rice than sashimi. I would come here again if I was in the area craving sushi. However the teriyaki could be a bit tastier.“

“First time after a referral and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was clean and modern. The staff were so nice and came by multiple times to check on us. I had the Happy Together roll and a Saba hand roll which were so full of flavor. Will definitely be coming back!“

“The sushi here is seriously good - fresh ingredients, creative rolls you won’t find anywhere else. The Fuji Roll? Absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly, even if the vibe inside feels a bit cramped and could use a deeper clean. It’s a small spot, so I’d recommend takeout or delivery over dining in. For the quality of food though, it’s worth it.“

“It made me feel like I was back in Japan for the duration of my meal.
The chefs were excellent, the seafood quality was extremely fresh, and they had items directly from Japan (such as uni from Hokkaido).
It was worth every penny, there was no downside except once you leave you’re still in California instead of Tokyo.“

“My husband and I enjoyed our spontaneous lunch at Sushi Day yesterday! While I didn’t anticipate much from this humble restaurant, I’m really impressed by the quality of the sushi rolls(Spider-Man, California, spicy tuna, hamachi, etc.). They also gave us 2 delicious drinks (mango and mocha) because they are launching speciality drinks next month. Please come support them! The plaza is undesirable but the foods are so delicious. Will come back next time! Additionally, for those complaining about slow service, it’s a limited back of the house crew. You’re not paying for omakase prices so shut your traps.“

“The sushi is so fresh it melts in your mouth. It’s so good. It’s a quaint almost hole in the wall type place but it’s clean and the people are friendly and attentive. It’s a definite must if you like sushi. Prices are reasonable and a tiny bit high on some dishes but it’s worth it. I will be going back again and I’m sure lots of times 😋“

“Warm welcome from a small shop nestled in strip mall. It was a busy lunch time but the one lady server was on top of things. We ordered mix tempura appetizer, softshell crab appetizer, Philly roll, Stormbringer and scallop roll. The fried appetizers were perfectly cooked, nice and crunchy, not too oily. The stormbringer had a nice selection of mixed sushi bits wrapped around a softshell crab.“

“10/10 experience!! If you are looking for amazing sushi in Mountain View, this is the spot! Joy Sushi is a true hidden gem. I ordered a takeout meal consisting of special rolls and a sashimi box, and the quality was outstanding. So yummy and fresh! “The ingredients were extremely fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The freshness made the texture and flavor stand out, and the price felt very reasonable for the quality of food served. The sushi was beautifully prepared and presented, with a premium omakase-style feel. The fish tasted clean, buttery, and well-balanced, especially the sashimi and specialty dishes. Service was also excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. Definitely a great spot for high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine. 👍“

“This is a really great sushi spot! Fish tasted fresh and thet were cut nicely for the price. There was a wait and we always saw a lot of people waiting here so that's why it took us so long to try it. Definitely worthwhile to try if you want a spot that is simple with quality fish.“

“Cha Cha Sushi in San Jose is a fun and reliable spot for fresh, tasty sushi with a laid-back vibe. The rolls are creative and flavorful, and the fish tastes fresh and well prepared. Portions are generous and the all-you-can-eat option is a great value if you want to try a variety of dishes. Service is usually quick and friendly, and the casual atmosphere makes it an easy place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. Overall, a solid go-to for satisfying sushi in San Jose. 🍣“

“My wife and I finally visited this place, and we actually don’t live that far away. It is a definite keeper. We both had combo dinners and the tastes are delicate and delicious for both teriyaki and tempura. Did not try the sushi. Very friendly service. Overall excellent place for our tastes.“

“Mountain View's Downtown area is so cute and I love that it's blocked off from cars so the center is a walking street. There are tons of restaurants and shops in the area, but if you're craving sushi or Japanese food, you have to 🔖bookmark Sushi Arashi! The prices are very affordable and the portions are generous.
If you're looking for an Instagram worthy dish that's both delicious and worth paying for, get the Omakase Box! It's $55, but worth it. Each chef's choice was well selected and super fresh. This place also has a huge selection of special rolls if that's more your style. The fish portions are big and they don't use too much rice like some other places. There are also Udon and Teriyaki dishes to choose from for those who aren't big on seafood.
🍣
• Omakase Box (highly recommend!)
• Hamachi Kama
• Hot Kiss (Baked Roll)
• Dragon Roll
🚗 Parking can be a little tough in the area depending what time you go, so plan ahead
🐾 Dog-friendly patio!“

“In town for work, decided to stop at a “neighborhood joint” sushi place for some comfort food. Got the Bamboo Sushi Combo, Nabeyaki Udon and a 22oz Kirin Ichiban.
Hit the spot! This place should be more crowded IMO. Nigiri was so, so good. Love the fresh wasabi (that was new to me), salad dressing (!), soup and seafood. Wish this was close to my house!“

“I've been coming to Ariake since it opened back on Stevens Creek and Lawrence when I was some of the chefs moved over from Miaki's. Their California rolls have always been the best. It holds a very nostalgic place in my heart and I'm glad to be able to take my daughter here now. Glad to see that the sushi boats are also back! Can't wait to sit there next time.“

“I just keep forgetting they play the worst music. And at times that you wouldn't play hot pop, rap. Older crowd means NOT pop nor hip-hop. And to mention, waitress was telling us how the kitchen staff was now going to sleep because we were asking to change music. Wow, guilt trip because we, and others hated the music. Since when did kitchen staff over rule CUSTOMERS! Shame on you. Lost a local customer, and maybe others.
Sad....“
