Service quality varied depending on the stand, but was friendly at the brewery. We liked the eclectic ambiance of the place, very fun.
The place is hopping so parking can be tough despite street and dirt lots around.“
“Faction Brewing is a wonderful, local brewery! On a perfect day, enjoy a beer or cider on their patio overlooking the San Francisco Bay and city skyline. Catch it on a gloomier day and you can still enjoy a crafted beverage in their large indoor spaces. We host our annual donation drive here in the spring and the staff is always so fantastic. Sante Adairius’s Oakland Arbor is a confident, quietly ambitious outpost that brings the Capitola-based brewer’s precision and ethos to the East Bay without losing the neighborhood feel. Housed in the former Trappist space, the Arbor respects its roots—original brick, polished wood, calm lighting—while projecting its own identity: more focused, less cluttered, and centered on the beer. The taplist is broad but purposeful. Signature saisons like Bernice remain touchstones, but the Oakland team expands the range with rustic lagers (Surge Capacity), unfined West Coast IPAs (New Brighten), and delicate low-ABV offerings (A Small Rest). Barrel-aged specials—like the layered, contemplative Bedside Manner—debut here and routinely impress. No filler. Even when they chase style trends, execution stays tight. Prices reflect the ambition ($9–$12 pours…) but the quality holds. Staff are attentive without performance. A small kitchen offers savory snacks, but beer is the point.“

OMG I'm the biggest fan of WCIPA style and the sphere of eternity is up there with Pliny the elder as the best in class. “I love this place and their beer! I first had one at Alvarado Street Brew in Monterey, CA. They’ve got great sours and fruit forward IPAs for me and beer that tastes like beer for my BF. “Wow, I’m not usually a sauerkraut fan except in a Ruben, but Headlands sauerkraut side served with the sausage plate is the best I’ve ever had! It has jalapeños in it giving it a perfect amount of mild spice. And get the brown and/or IPA mustard for the sausage. Yum!“
“We went to two locations this weekend visiting from Portland & both were great! I have to rave about the service at the Barrel Room! On our way to the airport we made one last pit stop & the bartenders were AWESOME. Beer was fresh & delish. Building is dope. Lotsa kids really isn’t our thing but it’s so spacious you have plenty of room to vibe. Accidentally knocked my beer off the table & was rewarded for my bad behavior with a fresh brew on the house because accidents happen! So good. ? Will be back.“
“The Pilsner is one of the best beers around, it's really good, I miss the bottles, on cans I feel the taste a little different, the others Northern Larger and IPA is ok but not like the pils, the brisket sandwich was ok, bread was not fresh and dry, brisket was good! The staff special in the bar wasn't that friendly, in general is ok, my 5 stars go to the Trumer Pils, really delicious!“

“Love this place! The membership is absolutely worth it if you live in the Bay Area and can visit regularly. The staff are amazing, friendly, welcoming, and great at what they do. The sake quality never disappoints. We always leave with a smile, and every friend I’ve brought here has loved it too. Don’t miss their occasional events, they’re set in such a great atmosphere and make for a truly unique experience! One recommendation would be to open the parking lot for customers on tasting days.“

“Two pitchers is really great. It’s a little loud and lively and they seem to have trivia, but it’s such a cool vibe, it’s in a fun part of town and there’s great indoor and outdoor seating. It’s great for big groups or small and even if it’s packed there’s seating. The beer, wine and fun drink category is soooo big how can you not be happy getting a drink here. If you get hungry walk over to the courtyard and grab a burger at lovely’s.“
