“Awesome new vendor in the kiosk that used to be Bi-Rite in the Civic Center Plaza (pre-pandemic). I've had 4 things here (napolitano, caprese and veggie sandwiches and beet salad) and they've all been fresh and delicious with a generous serving. The bread they use is soft and yummy, not too "bready" with a good bread:fillings ratio. My main critique is the pricing, which -- while in line with SF prices -- isn't going to be accessible to most of the local residents of the TL/SOMA. The gelato pricing starts at $5.99. With a playground right behind the kiosk, it would be nice if the prices were lower so a family of 4 wouldn't have to pay almost $25 to get ice cream on a nice day.“

“4-grain loaf was fresh, hearty, sourdough-y, and flavorful. Cinnamon roll was flaky and buttery. Both things I tried felt homemade with care. I’m definitely coming back for the other bread offerings, including the pizzas!“

“I’m touring a condo in Oakland for a client making an offer and I stop for a quick bite at a tiny sandwich place next to the Grand Lake Theater. OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. Jerry’s the best and I love this place. Can’t wait to tell my client about it!! Check out Modigliani Cafe, next to the Grand Lake Theater. #modigliani #localbusiness #Oakland #localgem #restaurant #sandwich #grandlakedistrict #holeinthewall #localjoint #bayareafoodie #pamparkerproperties #realtor®“

“The place is very good, as it has very good sandwiches and friendly service. We had the sourdough and the out, nothing to criticize. The sandwiches where finished fast and the service was quick and friendly. When you are hungry, just go to Freddie's, it's the best of the best, even though it's really inconspicuous. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Vegetarian options: There is a selection of vegetarian sandwiches, wich are all very tasty.“

“This review is just for the Sichuan Hot Chicken which I've eaten twice. Overall it's pretty good, but it's not great, and I really want it to be great. In concept this is a really thoughtful and well-executed sandwich. It has great veggies and really crisp, juicy chicken. It reminds me of what I had in the night markets in Taiwan. The breading is good too, although I feel it could be a bit thicker.
Where it falls short for me is in flavor. The Sichuan spices are there, but they are overpowered by the sheer amount of chili powder and salt that the chicken is breaded in. I was looking for more in the sauce as well - honestly maybe just adding more sauce would accomplish that. If I could get more of that peppercorn flavor, less salt, and more sauce, I think it'd be a 10/10.“

“Absolutely loved the breakfast sandwich I ordered here at Cable Car CoffeeSF! The ciabatta, eggs, bacon and condiments were just perfect.
Service was really fast and the lady at the counter was really sweet. The cable car themed kitchen was a nice touch as well.
One of the best breakfast spots I've tried in San Francisco!“

“Best banh mi place to go to in Oakland for decades. Been going here and their old location for decades. Very fine tuned business that is able to pass on savings to customers as opposed to other stores that keeps marking up. Very yummy, fresh, and reasonably priced.
Vegetarian options: Has spring roll options and bread options.
Parking: Beind the store. Pretty spacious, especially since there is a free parking on street too.“

“Best food in the polk street area. Me and my Mother and Sister have been going here 5+ years. Always good, Always great. Salads and Sandwiches both.
Most of the time we want to eat out we choose this place over any of the surrounding ones. I Like the skirt steak, but I've tried most of the menu and its all good. Tater Tots are Above Average so are the Fries“

“I found this place by chance because my kids have activities around the area. The service was extremely fast, made to order, and if I must say, I received my order within 7 mins of ordering. They are very generous with the protein, the combo came with a can of soda and fries. I give them bonus points for not adding salt to my fries, as this should always be adjusted by the need of the person eating. The cheese steak tasted great and bread was not soggy. My 5 and 7 year old certified the food, that says alot.“

“Favorite sandwich in Alameda. Sandwich Board is family owned with fresh roasted Turkey made daily. My favorite sandwiches on the menu are the Roast Turkey Delight and the Susan's Special (Turkey, Bacon, Cranberry, Jack). Mine is cool and the lines get long but he and his team move people through quickly. There’s a few tables outside and parking options include street parking and the lot lot around the corner.“

“The food was very good. Excellent gluten-free bread. It seemed expensive for the size of the sandwich. I was expecting something 1.5-2 times larger given the price. We ate outside in one of the sidewalk booths. It was a bit cold and breezy, not sure if you can eat inside in the wine bar or not, so might want to watch the weather.“

“The Lunch Box...I've never been there, so when Platypus Peté called and asked me to join him and his little stab Pollywanna Kräkor for lunch I was all in! I was up on Broadway Terrace explaining how to correct a Lisping Thruster Shaft to my pal Joey's son Clairmont. I went over it 3 times to the little squeak, and gave up when he insisted on a demonstration...I told him if he wants a demo he'll have to go elsewhere.
I had just enough time to make it to the Lunch Box and park, and I'll tell you the pastrami sandwich I had was Amazing! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆“

“Looks like a a tall , green , corn chip dipped into a red salsa sauce. It does not have the grace of Flatiron in NY; and hence it relies on reputation of hosting a restaurant, Cafe Zoetrope, frequented by the great film director Coppola ; it’s a building that lives on the fame of another person. It’s a side show but at least it’s not an eye sore.“

“I have been craving for Philly cheesesteak, so I’m looking around to find one and I get one from here. I like this one because they have a kitchen and they panfried in front of you so this is very fresh and hot. The taste is good. The size is very big as well.“

“Embarcadero Center Gem: Unwrapping the Delicious Secret of 5th Avenue Deli & Market
I was looking for something new to try when I got hungry, so I asked my colleague for a recommendation. She suggested 5th Avenue Deli & Market, a small, hidden gem tucked away in the Embarcadero Center near the corner of Clay and Drumm streets.
They offer a large selection of sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks, and chips to accompany their creations. Since I'm not a picky eater, I asked the friendly cashier what their most popular sandwich was. Without hesitation, he declared, "SanFranPsycho!"
This sandwich features honey turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, garlic butter, pesto, and Cajun mayo, all piled high on your choice of bread. I went with sourdough, gutted out and toasted with everything. While 5th Avenue has no indoor seating available, there are benches outside in the Embarcadero Center. I took it back to the office, and with the first bite, I was in love!
The sandwich was perfect - the bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, the flavors exploded in my mouth, and it was incredibly filling. I'm officially a fan! If you work nearby and have a sandwich craving, check out 5th Avenue Deli & Market. This is one sandwich experience you won't regret!
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for Wheelchairs.“

“Out with Goosebump Charlie last night bumpin around with a couple of Singapore Slings, and he tells me of a sandwich place that kicks out the best Pastrami in the city! Well, I've had pastrami in every delicatessen in the city...that's worth going into. So, I tell him "Prove it, if you're right, I'll pay! What's the name of this place I ask..he says...you mean..The Sandwich Place, I said yes, what's the name of the sandwich place...and the dipwad says it again...The Sandwich Place on Mission Blvd. I was flashing back back to the first time I heard Abbott and Costello's who's on first...Well, we went, and the Pastrami was Amazing!5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆“

“This is a good lunch spot for FiDi. Sandwiches are $12.50-$14. Salads are $10-$11. Prices on their website are outdated. My sandwich , the LLB special $12.50 was roast beef, turkey, ham, swiss, provolone on dutch crunch, was alright. The New England Clam Chowder $8.50 was chunky and not filled all the way up. That tasted OK as well. Friendly service for a counter style restaurant. Kitchen was fast taking account they were busy. I was pretty full afterwards.“

“This place serves joy by the cup and happiness by the bite. The coffee? Bold enough to turn any morning around. The tea? A perfect hug in a mug, no matter the weather. And the pastries? Golden, flaky bites of pure magic that might just ruin other desserts for you. The vibe is cozy, the staff is friendly, and my taste buds are still doing a happy dance. 10/10, would abandon my kitchen for this place again.“

“This little shop was down from our hotel. I was telling my husband it looked sketchy. We love going to out of the way places and gave it a go. We were not disappointed!
It’s so nice to ask for a sandwich and just say “no spicy” and not have to tell them what you want on it. We had the roast beef. He made it to perfection. It was like a warm hug from a long lost person. That’s how much he made sure it was just right before he took it out of the oven that toasted it.
Don’t let this one pass you by.“

“I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. They start serving breakfast with good burritos at 8 AM and have affordable and large portions for lunch serving sandwiches, salads, and soups (or a combination, which I recommend) for less than $16 (usually $14).
It is partnered with the bar Raleigh's so there is plenty of outdoor patio dining space.
Recommend coming before 11:30 on weekdays just to beat the lunch crowd as the line outside can get quite long.“
