“First time trying Indonesian food and what a treat. The menu was well explained in the foreign names so it gave me and my family an easy way to choose our food options. I tried the combo plate special which includes most common dishes , turmeric fried chicken, rendang beef, vegetable curry, turmeric rice and sauteed tofu. We tried various items on the menu with the family and we loved it all. Service was great and we were even greeted by the chef, which she was also the owner, Stanny. She was so nice and asked us how we enjoyed the food. She even remembered all our names. We will be coming back to try more things for sure.“
“Got a Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea. The Vietnamese coffee was feshly brewed. The beans are strong, but wish they were a little more robust. Also wish the drink itself was slightly sweeter. The Thai tea was pretty good. Definitely one of the better ones I've tried in the surrounding area. Almond Haus is also a really good spot to study or get some work done. They have multiple tables, large windows that provide natural lighting, wifi, and a clean bathroom.“
“I've never done Yelp reviews, but I HAD to for this coffee shop. 1st timer. I initially wanted the ham and cheese croissant but it was out, so I ordered the jalepeno turkey/cheese croissant and the spanish latte. SOOO DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is super cute and the customer service was excellent! The croissant is a good size and filling! The ladies (i wish i gotten their names) were very helpful and sweet. “This place is outstanding! We were in the mood for some good home style breakfast and boy did we find it. The biscuits and gravy were tasty, the omelette was jam packed with meat, cheese and veggies, but those breakfast potatoes...good lawd they are incredible!The staff was very nice, they made sure to keep the refills coming and chatted with us for a few minutes.It's not a fancy shmancy place. There aren't bottomless mimosas or a bunch of photo ops, but if you're looking for great food at a reasonable price that's served by a pleasant staff, you've found your new breakfast spot.“
“Place is perfectly put together, clean, relaxing space it's small but cute, plenty of seating to accommodate a good crowd. Service was great and they got to working on my order right away. Menu is pretty big it was hard to decide, I got a turkey pesto panini on sourdough, they have a lot of bread options. Kids got Smoothies which are pretty big. You may have to wait for a bit for a table because the place is pretty small. But if you're patient, you'll get a solid breakfast meal. Parking is limited, so don't be afraid to park on the street. “The most calm, tasty, and accommodating cafe in the Claremont village. I have spent countless hours studying at Norema and every single tea is fresh and well-balanced. My favorite teas are the lychee tea, matcha milk tea, angel’s kiss and devil’s kiss teas. If you’re a student, I highly recommend stopping by for a new study spot. Get the gyoza and rice bowls also for a fresh, yummy lunch. I love the owners, they are so welcoming and kind. I can’t recommend visiting enough for a midday break or new relaxing study spot!“

I walked the Upland Village prior and couldn't find a good place to hang and work. There was one small shop but they had no seating. So, I drove on and found Lucky's. The atmosphere is great. Just was I was seeking. Good sized shop, nicely decorated, and open spaces to hang.My latte was well made - steamed properly, not overly hot and not too cold either. Much better than Starbucks.My favorite part of Lucky's was having a comfortable place to enjoy a drink and a snack while getting some work done. “This place is a hidden gem, I almost didn't find it when I came into the plaza. Coming here started my Sunday on the right foot, the ambience is a bit rustic with wooden tables & cool record players. The service was top notch and the owner gave us fresh pressed orange juice on the house and it was some of the best juice I've had, sweet and not bitter. My family and I ordered the chilaquiles, Sunny's sandwich and the Nashville hot chicken waffle. Across the board all three dishes were delicious and we all loved the soft scrambled eggs. My dish was the nashville hot chicken and it could honestly feed 3 people as the chicken was huge and it also came with eggs & hashbrowns (not pictured here). It had a good kick with a good crisp to it! It is a bit heavy so super recommend sharing this aha. I'll be coming back to try the avocado sandwich & the katsu one.“

I also got a bag of beans, which also had the same tasting notes. Costs for a cup of coffee and a 12oz bag of beans are just on the average side for a Specialty Coffee Roaster. “This restaurant was a last minute find on our search for a dinner place. I was in the mood for soup and noodles, and the husband willingly obliged. We ordered the shrimp tempura udon and pork katsu curry. The shrimp tempura was still crispy when it was served, noodles had a bouncy bite, and the broth was flavorful. My husband isn't too big of a soup person, and he slurped almost all the soup! The pork katsu curry was exactly what we wanted. Curry was on point, and the rice was cooked perfectly! (It sounds silly, but poorly cooked rice can ruin a dish). There was also a creamy udon on the menu that I'd like to try next time. Our server was quick and profession. The inside of the cafe was so cute and inviting. It's decorated well with comfy chairs and couches, exposed red brick, and hanging chandeliers, which also makes this a great spot to read or get some work done.“

“This place is great. The owner is so nice and they have such a cool selection of different drinks. From energy teas to protein smoothies, they give you a reason to visit before and after your workout. It's in a slightly hidden location, but that just makes this a real "hidden gem". There's no sugar in their teas either so if you're dieting there's no worries about sugar intake. This place is pretty healthy and it tastes amazing. “The staff there are so kind and understanding. I started up my first bank account with them, and they were so patient with me since I was litrally confused about it all lol. They made sure everything looked perfect. They also gave me free coffee. The coffee is soooo good guys, like whenever I go to Victoria Gardens mall now,I dont go to starbucks no more, I go here to get coffee instead. And I think the prices are better. I love the energy in the building, I love that you can study there with friends and rent a private room. I have never had a negative experience here honestly.“

My go to is the shrimp avocado omelette but sometimes I ask them to surprise me because I can't make up my mind. I have NEVER been disappointed.Wheelchair accessibility: They don't really have a set spot for a wheelchair, but are very quick to provide a space for one. My wife is on a deluxe scooter, which is way bigger than a wheelchair and they accommodated her, and very politely too.“
