“Me and the husband went here for the first time. We chose the premium as we didn't like any of the meats or broths in the prime option. I ordered the sukiyaki broth and the native chongquin Mala. The Mala was very spicy as soon as I got it. I removed all the chilies, and it was still spicy but delicious. I started mixing both broths to balance spiciness, and it was delicious. They have a self-serve buffet with many options, and the meats are ordered at the table. My favotire was the pork belly, shrimp and the fish filet. My mouth is watering just thinking about it ?. Their service was great, for sure we're going again this weekend ?“

“Super addicting broths. I usually get the sukiyaki and the mala and they both had a good balance. Service feels very family run, which is awesome. Place is pretty nice and calm, making for a relaxing meal. Not the largest assortment of toppings but it has everything you need: veggies, seafood balls, noodles, mushrooms, etc. Really great meat portions per serving. Kinda fatty but honestly I don't care lol Value is good and prices are comparable to other AYCE hotpot/shabu places. Unlimited soda and teas as well as Thrifty ice cream you scoop yourself. Love this place!“

“I like this place. $13.99 per pound of food. You get to choose all your toppings. I recommend going heavy on the meats and light on the carbohydrates. That’ll be the best bang for the buck. They also have frog meat if that’s your lingo. I tried their beef bone broth and I like it a lot. I’d come back again.

Just a heads up. If you can’t eat mild this place won’t be for you. They can’t alter the broth. The only option is the tomato broth which is no spicy.“

I’m new to this style of presentation and was a little put off by the server when I said ‘spice level 0’ & didn’t know to immediately put the egg in the soup….we wandered in off the street after shopping somewhere else. I get it, I guess I looked stupid. Appreciated that it was a quiet place and watched some other people to understand what to do with the empty metal bowl. I feel “pro” now & will likely try again. “Loved my experience at East Town hot pot!! It was my first time seeing a charcoal hot pot, and I loved that you could choose two types of soup for each pot! They have a really wide selection of proteins and veggies. I highly recommend the beef and lamb combo! It’s mostly beef options, but it gives you a good selection of their proteins! Also, save some room for dessert! They have fresh cut fruits, popcorn, and a soft serve machine!“

“When my omnivorous husband likes a plant-based restaurant as much as I do, then I know it’s legit. The food here is fresh and delicious. We’ve tried several things on the menu but, because we don’t live nearby, we make the drive when I have a specific craving - #24, the vermicelli bowl. It is a perfect dish served by kind people at a very reasonable price. It’s always followed up by a complementary portion of dessert, a warm concoction of tapioca & coconut milk whose appearance belies its soulful, comforting, grandmotherly goodness.“

“This place is more of a drinking bar. I tried this place out 2× and food was nasty so I never went back again until recently my friends wanted to go there to drink so I tried it the 3rd time. The saying goes 3rd time the charm and yes the food was actually good this time, I enjoyed every dishes that was ordered.“

“Nice 2 Meet U has reopened after renovation and the space feels noticeably better than before. Brighter cleaner and much more comfortable to sit in for a full hot pot meal. Ventilation is also improved so you do not leave smelling like hot pot which is a big plus.

Food quality is solid and familiar but with clear upgrades especially the meat. They now offer more freshly sliced beef and you can really see the difference. We ordered several cuts including hanger steak spoon cut snowflake beef and beef tendon. Everything was sliced fresh nicely presented and cooked very quickly in the broth. The beef was tender clean tasting and did not rely heavily on dipping sauce.

Skewers are still very affordable at 0.49 each with options like spicy marinated beef chicken gizzard and beef enoki rolls. There is also a good selection of small plates and braised items. Small plates are 5.99 each and include tripe seaweed beef tendon fish tofu shrimp paste meatballs abalone and more. Everything looked fresh and was easy to grab.

Do not skip the fried rice. It comes topped with a runny egg and is very flavorful. It ended up being one of the most memorable dishes of the meal.

Overall this feels like a strong comeback for a spot many people already liked before. Better environment more choices and improved quality while keeping the pricing reasonable. Definitely worth revisiting especially if you enjoyed this place in the past.“

“Very nice small restaurant selling specialty noodles and some side items. The potato noodles have a firmer texture, kinda like soba, the soup was delicious. Chicken bone was also very good. There was an old couple working there, very friendly. Price was reasonable, highest it goes was $13 for the house special noodle. Overall a great place to try something new and unique.“

“Absolutely love Nabemono Shabu Shabu. We were finally able to enjoy a dine in experience, and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful space and great service. I highly recommend their sukiyaki and spicy creamy pork bone broth. Absolutely superb with their ramen, fresh veggies and sauces (ponzu and sesame). Can’t wait to go back to enjoy their cold noodles! We ordered the french style filet mignon, fried fish with corn sauce, steamed organic chicken, fish maw soup, shrimp with yau choy, and steamed meatloaf with salty fish. I highly recommend the lunch special as it ranges from ~$12.99-$16.99 and it includes soup and rice. For a Chinese restaurant, the service was above average. We appreciated the knowledgeable staff about their dishes, and great service when serving soups. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. They have open area seating as well as private rooms for your needs.“
