“We came to Applebees, my nephews favorite spot, for an early dinner. We jave been consistently impressed with thoe food and portions. We were certainly not let down today. Every item we ordered: bourbon mushroom cheeseburger, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken sandwich with bacon/ranch and the blackened chicken penne pasta was delicious. The portions were well sized, food arrived fresh and hot.
Our server William was top notch and very professional. He was polite, he provided quick service, frequently checked on us and stayed on top of everything. He responded quickly to all request and had a positive attitude.“

“Yesterday morning I went with my wife and children to this establishment and the food and service was excellent. Our waitress Isela brought us the food in perfect time and served us very well. “This is a great place to enjoy continental food. I was very surprised at how authentic the Indian food I ordered tasted. I ordered the butter chicken which came with naan, rice and chapatis. Butter chicken. It tasted like professional style and was very nice looking. It even surpassed some of the Indian restaurants I have tried before.“

“After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

“This year we chose Black Bear diner for the location of our annual Chrispen Team Pumpkin Pie giveaway, and we couldn't have been more impressed. The manager Isaid was amazing from the start helping me plan the event and order hundreds of pies. The large patio provided a private and cheerful atmosphere and was the perfect spot for the event. Carlos and the rest of the staff were amazingly attentive and handled everything we needed on the day of the event. All of our clients raved about how delicious the pies were and loved the convenient location. We can't wait to come back next year!“

Made reservation on Opentable, got seated right away. The view of downtown LA high-rises is fantastic, the hotel pool is on the side, very typical LA scene: pricey, nothing really stood out. Food came out quick: fried chicken ($26) was good albeit on the salty side. Enjoyed my dungeness crab pasta ($37) and husband also liked the skirt steak with salad on the side ($32). We were staying in the hotel so it’s convenient, no complaints….
A 6% “wellness charge” is automatically added on the bill. Server said it’s for back staff insurance (?) and also optional…
$21 Aperol + $7 Diet Coke + 3 items above is $130 + wellness charge + tip for 2 people out the door… just another lunch in LA!“

“Deli shop that has a robust menu (sammiches, salads, pasta, and pizza) with a variety of flavors for your palate. They have canned and bottled specialty beer and wine that will surely fit your mood. The vibe is so chill, you feel right at home. They get busy during lunch and dinner hours so be prepared to wait a bit for your food, but you can kill time by browsing their drinks. Great place for lunch.“

“What a rad little restaurant! I had heard of the legend that follows their burger and the Zique cafe inspired shoestring potatoes so I wanted to come check it out for myself. I loved the ambiance by the river, just people walking with dogs and riding bikes and the river was really flowing that day. We had the roasted onion salad which was simple but delicious, I got the burger (I have a hard time not getting a burger when the next beef entree down the menu is twice the price or more) and the "matchstick potatoes." My partner got the wings and I tried one. We got a bread & butter and the butter was heavenly, but the bread (toasted baguette) was alright. I love Bub & Grandma's but I've never really been a huge fan of baguette, I'd rather have a spongy piece of sourdough. We ended with an apple cider donut which toed the line between sweet and savory. Everything was really good and I have an appreciation for any place that figures out cocktails with just a beer and wine license. I had the Daiquiri and it was great. Overall, I would definitely come back, and I'll try one of the bigger entrees if I'm feeling spendy ($60-$100+ if I remember correctly). If I had any feedback, it's just that I would add more vegetables to the menu. Service was really great and welcoming.“

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had! I love this place and the people who work there!! They're like family now!“

“Came by the market to look at all the options and this place stood out for quick service and an extremely attentive staff. We were asked if we needed anything about 3 times while they were busy. For a quick grab and go sandwich shop, I would highly recommend off of service alone. The bread is a nice e compliment to the meat alongside the veggies and dressing. Don't skip on this place just because it's a sandwich shop. Will be going back again next time we visit.“

“THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE! Run don’t walk to eat here. It’s in a unique area that looks like a business district but the food is amazing! The burger and the French fries were so good and crispy! We also loved the Wild Caught Salmon! I will be coming back for the Breakfast Burrito. The best part is you can tell the owner cares to only find high quality ingredients. This place is a hidden gem and excited I discovered it!“

“I stopped by Country Cafe and had a great breakfast experience. This is a small, mom-and-pop-style restaurant that feels welcoming from the moment you walk in. The place was very clean, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided great customer service.
We ordered the Popeye Omelet, Hobo Omelet, and French Toast. My favorite dish was the Popeye Omelet, which comes with fresh spinach, bacon, onions, mushrooms, and Jack cheese. I added soyrizo and potatoes, and it took the omelet to another level — absolutely delicious and very satisfying. While I didn’t personally try the Hobo Omelet or the French Toast, my kids ordered those and they loved both, which says a lot. Portions were solid, and everything looked fresh and well-prepared.
Overall, Country Cafe offers a comfortable, home-style atmosphere with tasty breakfast options and excellent service. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot you can come back to again and again, and I’ll definitely be returning.“

“I've loved coming here for over half a decade, but new ownership has made some unfortunate changes. Our food took aaages to come out, was the wrong order when it did, and when I finally received my dish the quantity of meat on my sandwich was tragic. There was more melted cheese on a pastrami sandwich than there was pastrami...and there wasn't that much cheese. The house salad I've always adored had reduced quantities of toppings, less dressing, and was smaller in size than before. Service is typically slow unless you sit at the bar, which is mostly fine bc it's a casual atmosphere, but that combined with a sudden decline in food turnaround + value is unfortunate. I've always had leftovers when I ate here, but this past time I ate my entire meal and wasn't even full. I'm leaving 4 stars in hopes that they perk things back up, as it's a lovely neighborhood spot.“
