“I absolutely love this shop, it would be dangerous if I lived in the area… it’s located on Magnolia Street in a cute Burbank neighborhood, Little Nelly fits right in with its charming storefront and welcoming vibe. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. Even though I don’t live in the area, I have friends who do, and I often swing by when I’m in town because I also get my hair done at Dylan Keith salon nearby.

What I love about it: it’s a perfect place to pick up a thoughtful gift for the foodie in your life, and the food is consistently fantastic with something new to try each visit. The display and packaging feel special—even the jars add a cute touch.

Recent highlights: I went with the Lil Guy sandwich with French ham and a chocolate chip cookie to-go. So good on the drive home to Orange County. I also grabbed a jar of their buttermilk dressing to save time at home, and I brought home a quiche and a biscuit—both were amazing. They rotate items based on what’s in season, which keeps things exciting.

Why I’ll be back: it’s a small business that truly cares about quality and presentation. The location is convenient, the staff are friendly, and there are plenty of tasty items to bring home, including make-at-home pizzas and a rotating seasonal lineup.

“The very best baked goods I have found. Just the right amount of flavor, without them being too sweet. I especially like the Anise Cookies since I have a newborn son and it is wonderful to make increased milk production because I am nursing him. I love the salted sticks also. Have not had anything that I did not like. They are very friendly, and went out of their way to deliver the Anise Cookies to the market I shop at, so I can get them after work.“

The display is incredibly neat and colorful, and everything tasted amazing. The owners and helpers are so kind and friendly, making the visit even better. My son absolutely loves their donuts. “Been coming here for years and their menu has been great. Known for their Brisket Burritos, Fairfax egg sandwich and that Salmon Eggs Benedict on weekends that I have yet to find another establishment or restaurant with such a mouth watering hollandaise sauce. Regarding their coffee, its wonderful. Agreed their to go cups are a bit in the small size versus other coffee shops, but at least the coffee you get will leave you with a satisfying morning smile. One last good thing I appreciate are the familiar employees that have been there for years. Consistency in every aspect is found here.

But its not all perfect. I understand dogs are welcome, and I love dogs, its the owners that come in and start blocking the path to get to the order counter, who start conversations with other dog owners who create a barrier. Especially for those with an entitled mentality who will hardly to not budge to let you pass. This effects the experience to others, so maybe Commissary can continue to allow our friendly dogs to be apart of the atmosphere, but add and enforce some common sense rules for the experience of others and safety.
