“There's definitely a reason this place keeps coming up everywhere as number ones bartenders are nice with a touch of sass like you'd like at a dive bar, but it's elevated. The prices are pretty pricey, but for the love ingredients and originality of the cocktails I guess it's alright, but I'm not staying for more than two lol. We ordered 4 cocktails and two mocktails and it was about $100 so time to go home lol. They have yummy little snacks and overall we were happy with this new Long Beach spot.“

“I'm looking forward to my next stop at MB Post. I had a reservation for 3 at 7:15 on a Saturday night. We arrived a little early, checked in and waited at the bar for our table. The bar was crowded and the staff busy but our drink order was taken quickly. Cocktails were delicious, #Blessed will be my go-to here. It took a bit longer to get our drinks than we had anticipated. We waited for our table about 20 minutes beyond the time of our reservation and we had to circle back to the host to inquire how much longer before we would be seated. Our table was in the corner next to the kitchen and a service nook, loud and busy; next time I'll make a note to request a table away from the kitchen. It's a boisterous restaurant and the corner amplified the energy. We ordered the carrots, gnocchi, green beans and biscuits---all were incredibly delicious with the green beans being our favorite. Our server was prompt, courteous, food arrived without a long delay. We enjoyed Lola cab sauv with dinner. I gave the 4 stars for the service at the bar our need to check on our table. Overall a great experience and I will certainly be back.“

“Arthur J has been the staple go-to restaurant for me and my husband everytime we celebrate a new promotion, new job, raise, etc. We always invite out another couple to dine with us to celebrate, and the past two times (including tonight) was a bit of a disappointment. We have always ordered the tomahawk steak the past 4-5 times we've dined here, and tonight it was so fatty that there were probably only 16 oz of edible meat... from a 40oz steak. I know the bone is included in the weight, but I really could not see this Tomahawk feeding two people. I wish I had taken a photo of the Tomahawk because I really couldn't believe how small it looked. One of the entire end pieces was pure fat. Literally maybe a tiny sliver of meat (think like the size of a dime) on a 3x3" piece of fat. I did a brief perusal of the Yelp photos of the Arthur J Tomahawk to check my recollection of previous versions of the Tomahawk we had and yeah, the piece we got tonight did not look like anything from the Yelp photos or from our previous experiences. I rarely update Yelp reviews, but tonight's experience was just such a steep, stark contrast to the first time we dined here so many years ago. The first time we dined here, we ordered the Tomahawk and the manager came out and said the chef overcooked it, so he was embarrassed and refused to serve it so he let us choose anything else on the menu for free. Our party was shocked, we hadn't asked for any freebies. But that experience has always stuck out because it showed us how much Arthur J valued the quality of their product and service. In stark contrast to that first experience, I just can't believe how far downhill the standards have gone. I never like to just completely overlook the good parts in a review so here's the good: service was friendly albeit slightly slow, sides were good- especially the beef fat fries. I also like being able to pay the check on my phone.“

“This was a most delightful late lunch here today in great part due to the exceptionally hospitable and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant's interior is traditionally regal and cozy however we opted to eat in their spacious outside eating area on this beautiful afternoon. No regality was lost by being outside for we were in the care of Gilberto, our wonderful principle waiter. He understood our every need and pampered us like one seldom encounters in Long Beach. We began with an Old Sicilian cocktail. It's probably fortunate the photo didn't come out else I'd be shamelessly punning the caption, but most importantly it was delicious with quite a punch. The crab cake appetizer, also delicious, was followed by the best hamburger that I've ever had and that includes any produced from my kitchen (I consider that to be the highest praise). Bf gave me a taste and there is no question that I will be ordering this next time. For a special treat, Gilberto presented us with a beautiful crème brûlée. The dip was not too oily. Also came with a small salsa, though it needed something more solid in it.- Dos Gringas (al pastor tacos): the highlight were the tortillas - perfection! Lots of meat. Lots of delicious sauce though a bit too much- Mexican Kale Salad: I’d say this salad is more American than Mexican. For my wife this dish was perfect though for me it was too subtle, though still very good- El Verde mocktail - perfection & refreshing. Try it- Chef Jose’s flan with rompope - seriously the best flan ever. You can taste the alcohol from the rompope, which complements the flan. A serious must try!Our server was great, though they overall were grabbing our old dishes too quickly. The place has nice private booths.“

I went on a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant was quiet, but it was great to get to talk with my friends without having to yell over music or anything. I thought we were going to need more, but the flight was enough for two to share, since we were not trying to get tipsy. The fries were good, had a lot of toppings. We ordered garlic fries and they brought out a different plate. It looked so appetizing, we didn't bother sending them back and just enjoyed them. My friend also ordered Fresas can Creme and they came in a cute martini glass. When I got my check, I was so relieved with the amount. They have a good size parking lot too. So, we on Monday afternoon to take a break from checking out used bookstores. There was only one other table occupied. Our waiter was being trained by another server and they were both great. The atmosphere was cozy, and the food was fantastic. My son said he wished we had one where we're from. I agreed. Definitely glad we stopped in.Dietary restrictions: They are gluten friendly. Be careful if you're gluten sensitive and can handle small amounts of cross contamination. I'm gluten sensitive due to auto-immune disease but I am generally okay with things in a shared fryer. I ordered the fries. Thankfully, our server informed us they toss their fries in flour before frying. That I cannot do. Burgers and sandwiches can be served on gluten free buns.“

“Been a fan of Lechugas since 2011. If you're a fan of Mexican Seafood, you need to visit Lechugas. The tostada mixta is my favorite.. Super tasty, solid portion and modestly priced at $8. Still had enough for a Mexican soda or fish taco.“

“I've been here a bunch, just realized I've still never written them a review, so fixing that finally. They are definitely a "neighborhood bar" first, cocktail bar second - it's a great chill vibe, the sort of place that's never too busy (at least when I've been there) and where the music is never too loud to be able to talk. Their bartenders are all great, and they have quality spirits and reasonably priced drinks. And they do *have* a cocktail list - but compared to, for instance, Wicked Wolf nearby, for similar prices, cocktails that aren't quite as complex or as exciting, necessarily, but they have all been great cocktails. I also particularly like that they have, at least at the moment, Buffalo Trace on hand, so I can put that in any whiskey cocktail for about the same price. On their current menu, I particularly liked the "Cameoi" (bourbon, basil, lemon, blueberry, hibiscus cider) and the "Conquistador" (corn vodka, frangelico, romepope custard liqueur - as-is, it's basically a drinkable dessert, which is great if you're looking for dessert, but it's also an easy drink to swap different spirits in - I've also tried off-menu versions with mezcal and with Buffalo Trace that were also great.) I have only actually gotten food here once, and it was a couple years ago - their flatbread was nothing I'd go out of my way for specifically, but it's definitely also something I'd be happy to order if I were hungry and I was here. That said, the *real* draw that keeps getting me to stop in here, is the live jazz they have every Saturday at 8 PM. The jazz trio that plays here is fantastic, so whenever I'm out that direction on Saturday in the evening (most likely because something's going on at Wicked Wolf), I also try to arrange to pop in here during the live jazz. Cocktails go great with live jazz, and they're a super talented jazz trio. (But it wouldn't be such a draw if they didn't *also* make great cocktails.)“

“Visited this spot after reading reviews on yelp and Google. The service and food did not disappoint. I went with my fiance for a Taco Tuesday outing. We had the provided chips and salsa while we waited for meals. The steak and shrimp fajitas came out sizzling and tasted very good. My fiance got adventurous and tried the crab enchiladas. She said it was alright but would have preferred a more traditional enchiladas because of the sauce. Portion sizes were pretty big too for the amount you paid, I was shocked when I saw the check. The server was nice and restaurant provided a good back drop for date night! Oh, let me not forget, that spicy margarita was damn good lol. I’d recommend this spot in a heart beat for those looking for Mexican food in the area.“

“I can't believe I haven't written a review here yet! (Thought I did!) Anyway, first came here last year for my sister's friend/band member's birthday party! (Jordan) And some of his art work was displayed for sale. It was pretty fun! The DJ booth looks cool! The giant screen allowed them to play their new music video for their band called Wamdingis! (Check them out!) That night was lit! Thank you to the bar tenders & chef! The fried cheese curds were unforgettable! Came back here another time with a girlfriend because she was sad about her guy. Anyway, we ordered the tater tots (yummy!) & some seltzer drinks. I sang a song for Karaoke night on Sunday. We also ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and added bacon! Omg! So glad we split it! That was too good! Then we bar hopped a little before going home. Tonight, I was supposed to help my sister's band with merch at the Santa Ana art walk but they finished before I got there so I turned around and went home and Lyfted here. Ordered the garlic lemon pepper wings & cheese curds! Mmmm! So good! Highly recommended! The kitchen is open until 1 or 2am! Woohoo! So this is def a 2-in-1 spot! Parking sucks on the streets so just Lyft here! Maybe I'll see you guys around!“

“Went back to visit Alder & Sage this morning. I had the Classic Breakfast again. Super delicious and the Sangria beverage was very refreshing too. The vibe is always great here. The customer service by my waiter Jessica was excellent. She's probably one of the best hospitality people I've been privileged to serve in this Industry. I work in restaurants too so when I say she's the best I really mean it. This place always deserves 5 Stars. Thank-you again Alder & Sage.“

“This is my neighborhood bar. I could literally walk here. So I come quite often. Happy Hour is pretty good. Unfortunately, they don't have a kitchen onsite but you can bring your own food or order and have it delivered; which is pretty cool. They also have free pool tables and a juke box for your listening pleasure. My only gripe is there is one bar tender (shorter guy, with longer brown/black hair, and mustache) who has a bad attitude which can ruin your mood. Especially since he is providing a service and customer service is important. I usually don't stay long when he is working.“
