“Mama Cho's is a GREAT Castro Valley bistro that serves Korean American fare. Due to it's location, it's a hidden gem that deserves a visit whenever you're in the area. It does not disappoint! I tried the Kalbi Burger and KBBQ Plate - both are delicious. The store carries a lot of Korean food products on their shelves. If you're looking for a one stop shop for lunch and kimchi - this place is worth checking out!“
“Craving for Korean fried chicken locally, decided to have take out. Placed my order via Yelp, received order acknowledgment and order ready for pick up via text. Curiously, this operation is with a Ramen 101 restaurant. Walk up to the Grubhub counter, found my order. Packed in a carton, the 10 piece nuggets dressed in sweet and slightly spicy sauce with splash of mayo. The chicken was tender, sweet with a hint of spiciness. For the price ($14.99) was reasonably and within market. I had enjoyed them and will come back to try other flavors.“

“My mom and I came to visit 2/28/24 and neither of us have had authentic Korean BBQ before. We were both so blown away. Everything was delicious and you could tell the owner truly cared about his restaurant and every dish that came out. He recommended the bulgogi japchae, the sweet and spicy chicken, and the potstickers. (Sorry for not getting exact names right) I ordered the soy garlic chicken as well. Let me tell you, that is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Every bite was crispy, juicy, and flavorful and all of the other sides were delicious as well. “Loved the vegetarian options. There aren't many of them, I probably tried them all and you need to inform the waiter if you're vegetarian so that they avoid the fish in everything.I loved the rabokki (rice cake ramen) with medium spice, very flavorful and spicy and was my favourite item. I also loved the vegetable pancake, crispy and tasty. I liked the tofu bibimbap too. I liked the soft tofu soup as well but the egg did not cook in the soup like they had mentioned so I don't recommend getting the egg.The portion sizes are good for sharing and each dish is probably good for one person.“
“Very good and authentic Korean style Chinese food! Glad this one is close by. I don’t have to drive all the way to Santa Clara anymore. Jjamppong is one of the best I have had in US, with just the right spicy level. It comes with a lot of seafood, which is probably why this dish is much more expensive than Jajangmyeon. Jajangmyeon was a bit too sweet for me. Nothing special with Tangsuyuk, not bad but probably won’t order again next time.“
“Really great food, and of the Korean chicken places I have explored around the Hayward area really captures pretty authentic KFC flavors in both sauces this establishment has. The soy garlic has that nice bit of added flavor and the Korean spicy sauce is sweet and closer to a Thai chili with something like an added gochujang influence. They both have a pretty solid crunch. Also the bulgogi kimbap is really great, with that perfect marinated bulgogi flavor on big cuts of kimbap. I like the radish they serve on the side it tastes much like BHC type of radish, syrupy and sweet almost like 7up or an equivalent was used to soak it. The service is really friendly, nice folks working here. I like this place a lot, thanks for the good food!“
“Awesome, authentic food!! Big portions with quality ingredients--no skimping or filling up on cheep stuff here. My friends took me here and I later took my picky Asian parents here because it was so good (and not too salty!) It's a small, family run place. Service was fast and everything was clean. Also as a special callout the kimchi is 11/10 amazing, they make it themselves and cut it in front of you at the table!“
“The first time I had Rice Junky was actually at their second location in Santa Clara. I'm an East Bay fella so South Bay is a little bit of a reach for me. I've been having cravings for Rice Junky lately so I decided to check out their Fremont location. First off just want to note that this location is take out only. It's a pretty small spot. BUT that doesn't take away from the fact that the food is so so dam good! It was everything that I remembered and loved from the first time I had Rice Junky. At first, looking at the bowl. I was like "oh man, they give you less chicken here." Nope, I was absolutely wrong. Under that top layer of chicken was much more yummy sauced up chicken! Rice Junky is great, The bowl is fantastic. Portion is just right, slightly above average actually. Little pricey, but honestly with inflation nowadays. Food everywhere is expensive so meh. I just wished they stayed open later like their Santa Clara location. I gotta try all their other items. Only been loyal to the CC bowl so far. But the bowl is dam good!“

Refilled our bonchons when it got empty without us asking, explained what different sauces/things were for.Food was pretty good. Ginseng chicken was a little bit dry for the chicken and lacking in ginseng, but this is in comparison to the ones I had in Korea. Tofu soup & seafood pancake were pretty good; had better elsewhere (not in the bay) but it does the job. Japchae was a little too elastic but had good taste! Slightly on the pricier end as well (tofu soup was $17.5)“

“Came here with some friends right before their happy hour ended but Gina was so nice and decided to honor it for us anyhow! She also brought us soooo many bonchons (note you do have to order an entree for bonchons) We ordered a lot of food which did take some time to trickle out but we understand as Gina seems to be the only server that night. Korean pancake - 4.5/5 I loved this one cause it was thick and very crispy. My friend did say she prefers the pancake at Sisters House tho because it's thinner there Tofu soup - 3.5/5 it was a lil underwhelming and not salty enough and I feel it was missing a little depth of flavor. My friend and I both prefer the tofu soup at Sisters House BBQ Pork Sizzling Platter - wasn't very well charred. I don't usually get sizzling platters but the ones at Sisters House is better The fried chicken - 4.5/5 very good! I liked the crispiness of the chicken and inside was juicy. You do have to pay extra $2 for flavoring or for it to be crispy so keep that in mind. We did dip this into our tteokbokki/sausage sauce which Gina recommended Tteokbokki/sausage skewers - 3/5 I thought it was just okay for the price of what it was lol. I don't love the sausage but the tteokbokki did have a nice lil crisp to it on the outside but with that familiar chew once you get to the center“
“Pretty great option for chicken around here. I have always enjoyed Korean style chicken so when I saw options such as the honey butter or yangyum chicken here I definitely had to try it. Firstly, both the wings and drumsticks are huge and satisfying to eat. At its core it is great fried chicken with just the right amount of crunch without losing its juiciness. Flavor-wise I think both of these options are really good. The yangyum chicken, kind of wish had a bit more gochujang/garu smokiness to its flavor, tasted closer to tteokbokki type of sweet sauce and that added savory bite would have really hit my taste buds right. The honey butter chicken is equally great with a sweet and flavorful bite, though they only add just enough powder to get the flavor... would prefer it coated.Service is friendly and the front is simply a walk up counter, no dining in, etc. the pickled radish that comes with the chicken is better than alternatives I have been to but is still missing that refreshing bite that I have had in Korea.“

Owner and staff are super friendly and food is always good. If you can’t take too spicy, ask them to tone it down to your level and enjoy. I have been here many times and will go again.“

We usually get one of the combos that consists of Korean fried chicken, kimbap, and fries. The fried chicken was delicious and packed with flavor and crunch! Kimbap was decent and fries are fries. “Came here for takeout for the super bowl and we were lucky enough to get squeezed in since they were so busy. Shared the medium fried chicken for 2 people which came with rice and salad. Got the soy garlic and spicy medium flavor. Both flavors kinda tasted similar. The spicy one tasted like the soy garlic but it was the perfect level of spice. The chicken was plump and moist, and perfectly crispy, even eating it after taking it home. It's expensive but I do appreciate the sides they give to make it a real meal. The salad was also light and delicious. A perfect compliment to the heavy wings!“
