“This is a classic Italian restaurant with a lively atmosphere and excellent service. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. We ordered the classic pepperoni pizza, the classic cheese and bacon pizza, as well as the lasagna and carbonara. The pizzas were cooked to perfection, with a crispy and delicious crust. The pasta was cheesy and filling.“

“Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The pasta is very good as you might expect but I think to be completely full, a couple should order a pasta per person and an entree to split. The citrus cake was amazing and the Gnochetti’s texture was also amazing. The tiramisu also looked incredibly good but unfortunately they sold out, so I’d definitely recommend the desserts as well.“

“Friends and I staying near here popped in for a quick drink on a Friday night (7pm) and had no issue finding a spot at the bar. Our drink orders were taken quickly and the atmosphere is really chill. I really enjoy the low warm lighting and wood look. I'm writing a review because my drink was DELICIOUS! I enjoy sweet flavorful drinks and the Pleasure Palace was a party for my tongue! Great dopamine hit, I highly suggest!

“I absolutely love this place. I read some of the low reviews because I couldn’t believe there were some. Yes, the price is high but that’s most bars in the city. And yes, it can take a while to order but that’s because every drink is crafted and presented with care. This place has some of the most unique drinks I’ve ever had. “My visit to Novela was such a great experience! The layout is warm, inviting, and sexy. The sofas, library books, chopped wood, and comfortable chairs create such a unique atmosphere.

The staff was very friendly, and the punch flight was delicious. I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, although the crispy chicken sliders were a little too crispy for my taste. I would have preferred the chicken to be softer and more moist.

The live jazz band was the perfect touch and created a relaxed, laid-back mood. Overall, Novela has a great vibe, good drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere. I’d definitely visit again!“

“We've been here ~6-7 times in the last year. They make fantastic cocktails & the food is surprisingly good, but service is often very slow.

The drink menu is fun & tropical leaning but with some drinks that pack a serious punch. If you don't like what you see, they'll make anything you want & they'll do a great job!

I wish the menu would shift a little bit - I don't think it's changed since the first time we visisted.

It can be hard to get your order in & even if standing waiting for awhile, it'll often to awhile to get the attention of the bartender. This hasn't been isolated to a single bartender, it's just kind of the general experience.

If you're not bothered by slow service and want great drinks, go here!“

“This is my favorite cocktail bar on SF! It's always moderate not ever really busy so you're guaranteed a seat and a drink. The menu has a ton of option and they can make their own signature cocktails. They have great live jazz nextdoor and the interior brings you into a world of the artdeco 1920s. Highly recommend this place.“

“We were so grateful that the restaurant manager was able to accommodate our request to add our daughter to our reservation, despite a very full house. Unfortunately our daughter was eventually unable to join us because she got stuck in Fremont with her son's Little League team. She missed a wonderful dinner.“

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took a little while to get our second round of drinks. Aside from that, everything else was fantastic!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was the perfect way to unwind after spending the day exploring the city. Great vibes, great food, and an overall enjoyable dining experience. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy a good meal!

“Tiya is hands down the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff genuinely make the entire experience feel special.

And the cocktails are in a league of their own. Izler Thomas is easily one of the best bartenders in the Bay Area, incredibly creative, thoughtful, and technically brilliant. Every drink feels like it has a story behind it, and the execution is flawless.

From the food to the cocktails to the hospitality, Tiya gets everything right. I’ve tried plenty of the other highly regarded Indian restaurants around the Bay, including Copra, and for me it’s not even close. Tiya is the one. Cannot recommend it enough.“

“This was our first time going to Holbrook House, where we went for lunch to celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant is gorgeous. Holbrook House has the potential to be a 5-star restaurant, but we rated it lower because of its amateurish, unskilled staff and very slow service given the high price point. We would have rated it lower, but management obviously recognized that what we were experiencing, especially for a special occasion, was below expectations and provided us with small servings of complimentary sparkling wine, a dessert & a bottle of champagne to take home, which was delivered to the table by the general manager. These actions demonstrated to us outstanding compensating hospitality. Having said all of that, the food was delicious. The Petite Seafood Tower ($125) had fresh & plump lobster, oysters and ceviche. Although the Black Truffle Grilled Cheese w/ Honey ($20) had no shaved black truffle, the black truffle taste is present & the combination of cheeses, honey & sourdough were the best I’ve tasted. The accompanying fries were crispy. All in all, we will return and give Holbrook House another chance.“

“Had afternoon tea here twice; the first time for 2 persons, the second time for 3. Tea selection and the atmosphere was outstanding, service was ok.
During my first visit, the food for 2 was nicely presented on a tiered platter, beautiful and appetizing.
However on my second visit, I was very disappointed with the food presentation; a 2-person tiered platter was used to hold food for a party of 3. As a result, the food was literally piled on to the platter on each tier. This must be a presentation mistake which compromised our dining experience. The visual appeal was lost and somehow the food did not taste as good as the first time…😟“

“Had the extreme fortune and pleasure of being served by Franklin well visiting the moon gate. He went far beyond his job description, since I am visually impaired he was kind enough to break down each and every drink by ingredient in flavour profile as well as he was kind enough to describe the aesthetics of the establishment itself. When I was in the moongate I felt like I was a friend as opposed to a customer. At this point I should mention the signature cocktails are incredible [Not to mention dangerous as some are incredibly smooth] A heartfelt thank you for being welcoming and not batting an eye when I entered with my seeing Eye dog.
