“This is a classic Italian restaurant with a lively atmosphere and excellent service. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. We ordered the classic pepperoni pizza, the classic cheese and bacon pizza, as well as the lasagna and carbonara. The pizzas were cooked to perfection, with a crispy and delicious crust. The pasta was cheesy and filling.“

“Food and drinks were amazing. We had oysters, calamari, Caesar salad, lobster lasagna and hanger steak. For dessert we had the sorbet and tiramisu. The star of the show: the staff but specifically our server Maggie was also sooo amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and a farewell dinner and she made sure we had the best time! As a F&B manager, I love a good dining experience and this was it!“

“Kat was a chill bartender and served me a delicious cocktail with rum (something I normally don't like!). The atmosphere was chill for a Wednesday evening, and the music was good to beat. Felt divey yet classy, home but far away. Chill spot, lots of seating, clean, and a great place to wind down after work. Would recommend.

“I just walked in during a busy time. The waiters were great and the atmosphere was hoping. I was able to make my order, half bacon&half pepperoni Detroit style. The pizza did not disappoint. I live in Chicago and very picky and this pizza met my expectations. Even good the next morning cold(yes cold).“

We caught Happy Hour at Persona. HH consists of $3 off house cocktails, beer, wine.

We had 2 drinks each, shared popcorn ($7). The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktails.

Things to know:
- Some cocktails are batched and poured on draft (I am not a fan of this method, when yiure paying $15+ for a cocktail I want it hand crafted not on draft)
- Popcorn was a smidge too salty so we didnt have much
- No live music on Tuesdays
- By the stairs they have post cards which is a nice touch“

And yes, it can take a while to order but that’s because every drink is crafted and presented with care. This place has some of the most unique drinks I’ve ever had. They are always changing up the menu and doing some fun pop up’s and themes. Customer service is exceptional, especially Leo. I love that it is not easy to find and that you have to know the password.“

“After many personal recommendations had to go check out bar Iris for myself. Incredibly crafted cocktails in an amazing bar and seating area. Not only were they delicious but the looked great too! Very fancy menu with very helpful star chart to explain how the flavors of the drink are balanced.“

“Drinks are on par with the price. Great spot to get your evening started. When it gets crowded, it’s especially loud and the hifi acoustic setup amplify the chatter mixed with the music. It can be a little cacophonous for someone sensitive to sound or have a hard time tuning into one thing at a time.

TLDR: wonderful visit and I would recommend visiting at least once to see if it’s your cup of tea“

“We've been here ~6-7 times in the last year. They make fantastic cocktails & the food is surprisingly good, but service is often very slow.

The drink menu is fun & tropical leaning but with some drinks that pack a serious punch. If you don't like what you see, they'll make anything you want & they'll do a great job!

I wish the menu would shift a little bit - I don't think it's changed since the first time we visisted.

It can be hard to get your order in & even if standing waiting for awhile, it'll often to awhile to get the attention of the bartender. This hasn't been isolated to a single bartender, it's just kind of the general experience.

If you're not bothered by slow service and want great drinks, go here!“

“This is my favorite cocktail bar on SF! It's always moderate not ever really busy so you're guaranteed a seat and a drink. The menu has a ton of option and they can make their own signature cocktails. They have great live jazz nextdoor and the interior brings you into a world of the artdeco 1920s. Highly recommend this place.“

The French onion soup honestly was the best thing we tried. I ordered the paella. The house made chorizo stole the show here.

“Awesome karaoke bar in Chinatown, SF! Definitely a Chinatown feel with the dim red lights & decor. There's a huge karaoke book to choose a song to sing. If the bar is full, they'd likely limit you to 1 song at a time so others get a chance. Space is small so it can get crowded. Loved the energy & atmosphere.“

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took a little while to get our second round of drinks. Aside from that, everything else was fantastic!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was the perfect way to unwind after spending the day exploring the city. Great vibes, great food, and an overall enjoyable dining experience. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy a good meal!

“This was our first time going to Holbrook House, where we went for lunch to celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant is gorgeous. Holbrook House has the potential to be a 5-star restaurant, but we rated it lower because of its amateurish, unskilled staff and very slow service given the high price point. We would have rated it lower, but management obviously recognized that what we were experiencing, especially for a special occasion, was below expectations and provided us with small servings of complimentary sparkling wine, a dessert & a bottle of champagne to take home, which was delivered to the table by the general manager. These actions demonstrated to us outstanding compensating hospitality. Having said all of that, the food was delicious. The Petite Seafood Tower ($125) had fresh & plump lobster, oysters and ceviche. Although the Black Truffle Grilled Cheese w/ Honey ($20) had no shaved black truffle, the black truffle taste is present & the combination of cheeses, honey & sourdough were the best I’ve tasted. The accompanying fries were crispy. All in all, we will return and give Holbrook House another chance.“

“Had afternoon tea here twice; the first time for 2 persons, the second time for 3. Tea selection and the atmosphere was outstanding, service was ok.
During my first visit, the food for 2 was nicely presented on a tiered platter, beautiful and appetizing.
However on my second visit, I was very disappointed with the food presentation; a 2-person tiered platter was used to hold food for a party of 3. As a result, the food was literally piled on to the platter on each tier. This must be a presentation mistake which compromised our dining experience. The visual appeal was lost and somehow the food did not taste as good as the first time…😟“

“Perfect Italian authentic restaurant when enjoying North Beach neighborhood for my friends birthday! I got us tickets to dear San Francisco, which is a wonderful show at Club Fugazi just 3 blocks away from this great restaurant! Paolo took wonderful care of us. His wine, suggestions and appetizer and entrée tips were the best! The pasta is homemade and very delicious and special. We tried the gnocchi with pesto, as well as a delicious braised meat, red sauce over fresh linguine. We also enjoyed the grilled (not fried) octopus. The tiramisu for dessert was perfect! I’ve been here before, and I will go back again and again for the service and authentic delicious Italian cuisine.“
