“We stopped here after swinging by Baker Beach. The food is, in a word, incredible! It’s super cozy with fun items for purchase, and everyone there was really friendly and fast. I had the Shrooms Over My Hammy, and my husband had a breakfast burrito. Both were incredible, but mine had so much amazing flavor. I will definitely make this a staple on my next trip back. Thank you for a memorable meal!“

“Absolutely loved the breakfast sandwich I ordered here at Cable Car CoffeeSF! The ciabatta, eggs, bacon and condiments were just perfect.
Service was really fast and the lady at the counter was really sweet. The cable car themed kitchen was a nice touch as well.
One of the best breakfast spots I've tried in San Francisco!“

“The place is very good, as it has very good sandwiches and friendly service. We had the sourdough and the out, nothing to criticize. The sandwiches where finished fast and the service was quick and friendly. When you are hungry, just go to Freddie's, it's the best of the best, even though it's really inconspicuous. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Vegetarian options: There is a selection of vegetarian sandwiches, wich are all very tasty.“

“*note* The Tuna sandwich is no longer on the menu
I try not to let price be a factor in my reviews of restaurants because San Francisco has such a high cost of living… typically if the food is expensive, that means that 1. It’s quality 2. They pay their employees well 3. The cost of rent is probably more than you could ever imagine.
Today we got the Turkey sandwich with tomato basil soup, they use Diestel turkey which has always been one of my favorite organic, free range farms. The soup was rich and full of flavor… I liked the consistency, it wasn’t too creamy and still had a dark red flavor that lets you know the tomatoes are fresh and juicy (they also put tomatoes on the skirt steak sandwich which proved to be plump and juicy.) The turkey sandwich was simple in nature, I substituted pepper jack cheese for the goat cheese because goat cheese can sometimes over power everything else and I wanted to see how the sandwich would taste in a more traditional turkey sandwich kind of way… the pesto sauce that came on the sandwich was delicious and had more spice than I was expecting, definitely something unique to this restaurant, would probably make a fine dipping sauce for the French fries :)
The other Sandwich we got was the Skirt steak, you may be a bit turned off by this, but I like my skirt steak well done, especially when it’s grilled because the marinade gets caramelized and I personally like tasting the char… that’s what Barbecuing is all about (isn’t it??) the sandwich came out with more fixings than the turkey, primarily the tomato is what set it apart, and the cheese melted nicely due to the hot steak. The steak was mouth watering and tender, it broke down easy with every bite and was cut in nice chunks to prevent pulling out a whole piece and degrading the foundation of the sandwich :P The fries were rather traditional, shoe string and lightly salted, we got bbq sauce on the side that was rich and tangy, with a bit a sweetness to finish off the slight spice.
Overall this was a delicious meal with plenty of food to satisfy two solid eaters appetites, we even had a half a sandwich to take home for left overs. Service was simple, they give you a number and you order at the counter… I will definitely be eating here again, but not as often as I’d like due to the price point, lots of restaurants to try… luckily they have a thriving community around them, so even if people only eat there a couple times a month, they’ll be alright.
Thanks for the delicious food.“

You can tell they genuinely care about their customers, which makes every visit feel special. The food is delicious, with a cozy and welcoming ambiance that’s perfect for breakfast or lunch. “A “Must Stop” for lunch! The best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. Wanted to go back and just order a bunch of bread to take home and spoil the family. The perfect crispy crust and then soft chew center with lots of wonderful savory sourness. I had the Ham & Pastrami. Perfect fresh ingredients. Everything you want in a deli sandwich at a reasonable price. Lots of selections so I’m heading back for future yummy bites. Excellent personal service.“

“Looks like a a tall , green , corn chip dipped into a red salsa sauce. It does not have the grace of Flatiron in NY; and hence it relies on reputation of hosting a restaurant, Cafe Zoetrope, frequented by the great film director Coppola ; it’s a building that lives on the fame of another person. It’s a side show but at least it’s not an eye sore.“

My go to are, roast beef and club b. Love the available sides like the chip selection and the potato salad and a verity of drinks. Definitely worth it.“

“Embarcadero Center Gem: Unwrapping the Delicious Secret of 5th Avenue Deli & Market
I was looking for something new to try when I got hungry, so I asked my colleague for a recommendation. She suggested 5th Avenue Deli & Market, a small, hidden gem tucked away in the Embarcadero Center near the corner of Clay and Drumm streets.
They offer a large selection of sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks, and chips to accompany their creations. Since I'm not a picky eater, I asked the friendly cashier what their most popular sandwich was. Without hesitation, he declared, "SanFranPsycho!"
This sandwich features honey turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, garlic butter, pesto, and Cajun mayo, all piled high on your choice of bread. I went with sourdough, gutted out and toasted with everything. While 5th Avenue has no indoor seating available, there are benches outside in the Embarcadero Center. I took it back to the office, and with the first bite, I was in love!
The sandwich was perfect - the bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, the flavors exploded in my mouth, and it was incredibly filling. I'm officially a fan! If you work nearby and have a sandwich craving, check out 5th Avenue Deli & Market. This is one sandwich experience you won't regret!
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for Wheelchairs.“

“This is a good lunch spot for FiDi. Sandwiches are $12.50-$14. Salads are $10-$11. Prices on their website are outdated. My sandwich , the LLB special $12.50 was roast beef, turkey, ham, swiss, provolone on dutch crunch, was alright. The New England Clam Chowder $8.50 was chunky and not filled all the way up. That tasted OK as well. Friendly service for a counter style restaurant. Kitchen was fast taking account they were busy. I was pretty full afterwards.“

“My first time going I got the special it was wonderful! I mean for the price this is worth it they give you more than what you pay for I mean comparing them to the rest of California a sub a bag of chips and soda would normally run $20 in San Francisco but here all that is $12 ! For the people that’s leaving bad reviews on this place I mean you can’t please everybody! But I’m firm down south and this is a decent place for low budget hungry at the moment people!“

“I came here on a Friday afternoon and got the pork belly banh mi. It was so good… definitely top 10 sandwiches I’ve ever had. Pork belly was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bread was nice, and the pickled vegetables were perfect. Owners were also really friendly and only took a couple minutes max to make the sandwich. The space is small, and seating is limited though“

“This little shop was down from our hotel. I was telling my husband it looked sketchy. We love going to out of the way places and gave it a go. We were not disappointed!
It’s so nice to ask for a sandwich and just say “no spicy” and not have to tell them what you want on it. We had the roast beef. He made it to perfection. It was like a warm hug from a long lost person. That’s how much he made sure it was just right before he took it out of the oven that toasted it.
Don’t let this one pass you by.“

“I’m no food critic I just know what I like. I have been a fan since 2021 and it’s a short and simple experience here. Highly suggest grabbing some sandwiches and heading to park if you have the time. Most of them are best when warmed because re heating them doesn’t work well.“

“Pretty good place for a coffee layover. They also serve food and it smells delicious. However I usually get here after lunch so I have yet to try the food. Clean, personnel is very friendly. I prefer coming here over Starbucks or Peets. Large coffee $3.50 (Aug '24).
Parking: It's corner Jones and Turk St in SF, what can you expect? There's limited curbside parking and a parking garage nearby. YMMV depending on the hour of day.“

“I am addicted!
I've been coming to Working Girls' Cafe for over 5 years now. Every time I come here I tell myself, "try something different", and believe me I try, but eight out of ten times I end up ordering the same thing; the California Cobb Bowl!! I can't help it! As I get closer to the Working Girls' Cafe my imagination starts going into hyper drive mode and I see myself digging into this flavorful bowl of goodness, my taste buds wake up, my heart starts beating faster and faster and by the time I am at the counter and my now good friends at the other side of the counter ask me if I want the "regular" I automatically respond affirmative!! The darn thing is a full meal! There is everything in it and they are all delicious!
What is in it? Well it's got Chicken Breast, Avocado, Bacon, Gorgonzola Cheese, Hard boiled Egg, Cucumber, Tomato, and Red Onions and it is all served on a bed of Organic Kale and Organic Quinoa, with Balsamic Vinaigrette on the side.
Aside from the California Cobb Bowl, the sandwiches here are to die for! Take the California Melt sandwich which I had last time I was there. It is delicious! A thick layer of smoked turkey, surrounded by fresh lettuce, tomato and onion on one side and bacon, melted Swiss cheese, and avocado on the other all between two layers of warm and toasted soft roll.
The coffee is pretty good too! I usually leave holding cup containing a shot of espresso designed to keep me awake the rest of the afternoon!“

“After I paid i didn't tip because I didn't recieve any service like you would at a restaurant. The second we turned our back and started walking away, the cashier started saying how "she always tips no matter the place.... etc." in spanish (not knowing that I understood what she was saying). The food was great but I don't plan to come back if the cashier feels that comfortable taking poorly about customers that don't tip when I paid $22 for a half rack of ribs and this place isn't a sit down restaurant.“

“The staff at this Subway are awesome. I came in at 9:30pm to order 17 six-inch subs for a student field trip, not realizing the store closed at 10pm (online it said it was open until 1am). Adrienne the girl at the counter was soooo nice to agree to make all the sandwiches, which ended up making her clock out late. She saved the day! The field trip with the kids was a hit and they loved their sandwiches. After I left I realized I accidentally left my credit card in the card reader (tired teacher). Alex F the morning guy kept my card safe for pick up after I got off work. You just don't find kind, honest, and hardworking people like Adrienne and Alex that often anymore.I believe the manager's name is Mr. Sunil. If you read this Sunil, you have two superstar employees working for you! I hope they get some recognition and promotions. They were just wonderful.I highly recommend this Subway to anyone who loves great service, kind people, and delicious food.“

“Finally made it here and I was impressed. I ordered a custom turkey-avo-swiss sandwich with lots of extras. First things first, they got my difficult order 100% correct! It was thoughtfully built with ingredients assembled evenly with edge to edge spreading of the condiments. It was wrapped neatly and then cut in half so it didn't fall apart in my hands. The flavors were fresh, meat and veggies all had a good flavor pop.Service was very friendly, our tables were clean prior to us sitting down and the sandwiches were delivered timely to us at our table. Very nice and appreciated these days when it seems like counter service ends with your cc signature.Nice that it's open Sundays too.Why not 5-stars?1) I think a few more signature sandwich menu items would be helpful. I know small menus are a trend but I feel like 6-8 options for hot and cold each would cover a few more bases (ex tuna salad/ tuna melt, some turkey or chicken without bacon, caprese, Reuben, roast beef & brie, etc)2) I think not having a sourdough roll is a miss or simply a roll with a crunch/ crusty exterior (dutch crunch, French roll, focaccia etc). The sweet roll on my sandwich held the sandwich back from it's full potential.“
