“Server and bus person were extremely rude, wouldn't clear the table before we sat. When we asked to have the table wiped down we were snapped at and spoken meanly to. The server presented the check but wasn't clearing the table even when we asked so we could finish our drinks. Just wanted his money and completely ignored us. Although the food was good I'll never go back because the servers were so terrible.“

“I've ordered delivery from here 5 times.
Solid food (except the one time I had a scale in my sushi roll). Not bad service (wish they'd be more accommodating with requests). Takes too damn long to make (~80 min ETA every time on DoorDash).
Prefer Sushi Shio. every. single. time.
P.S. will add more photos of the food if I ever order from here again.“

“This was truly exquisite. The executive chef Shin I believe is a master at his craft and you felt this through every course. I could not have had a better first omakase experience. The wait staff was very kind and mindful. For someone who is weary of the cost I would say it was worth every penny. The quality of the fish was beyond anything I had ever seen before. The cod in one of the fist courses dissipated like melted butter in your mouth. I could not recommend Akikos more.“

“A true gem in downtown SF! Came on a week night and was half full, with some takeouts here and there. May not need to make a reservation if weeknights. I was astounded by the variety of the sushi rolls, sashimi, and the appetizers. The octopus wasabi and agedashi tofu were fantastic, the octopus was very fresh I could eat a big bowl! I devoured my sashimi, sushi and roll set and wanted to come back for more!“

“We stumbled upon Sushi Hashiri because the mall was closed, which turned out for the best. Executive Chef Toshiaki Ono is an expert in his craft. The fish is fresh and flavorful, and the nigiri and rolls are exquisite. I’d recommend everything we ate, but my favorites were the goldeneye snapper nigiri, Hokkaido uni, and the tuna belly & takuan roll. Service was exceptional. I wish I knew the name of our waiter — she was so friendly and helpful. Kenichiro (Head Hospitality) was also friendly and so knowledgeable about the sake and whiskey. The pairings he suggested were perfect. The ambiance was lovely and unpretentious. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back. Next time we’ll try the omakase!“

“Found Sushi Tri while looking for ramen spots in Novato, but went for the sushi and wasn't disappointed. Went to dinner with our younger children(5+7), and there were other families there. Great menu selection with good prices, and quick turnaround on sushi dishes.“

“Nice little spot! Emphasis on little. Went in, was the only diner for a while until a few other folks came in. Sat at the counter that had a convenient foot bar. Staff was attentive. The music was really calming too.
Ordered the duck breast ramen for 1$18 and it was so good! Great flavors! Was so excited to eat, I burned my tongue a little🥲 Didn’t try any sushi, but if you’re looking for a ramen fix, you won’t be disappointed!“

“Best sushi in the city. The chefs are super talented and the waitstaff are always great. Food is top notch. Good selection for different fish and apps. I usually go for omakase, but sometimes the kira kira or ninja roll. The atmosphere is not too loud. You can usually find parking within a couple blocks.“

“Such a good AYCE sushi in SF, the restaurant is clean and the service is extremely fast, there are options for picky eaters who don’t eat fish :) the fish is fresh and all the rolls and sashimi we tried was great! We liked every dish we got.“

“This was my first visit, and I ordered food to go. Server was nice, food is very good. I had chicken fried rice, spicy tuna roll and a fried shrimp & avocado roll. Sushi was fresh and fried rice was tasty. As I sat waiting for my order, I felt bad for the server because there was a family of tourists that were being very rude and demanding. She did well though, juggling this family with the other tables and putting to go orders together.“

“Miso soup was good; not super flavorful but at least not overly salty like so many. Donburi was served in a flat plate with protein on top, rather than in the traditional bowl. I like the change; easier to get a mixed chopstick full of protein and rice. There is a lovely outdoor space where you could enjoy watching the bike path traffic but unfortunately it was not usable during my visit due to yellow jackets.“

“Beef Udon is a must-try! Sure, the rolls are great and everything, but they’ve really dialed in their beef udon. The broth is amazing—clean, balanced, with only what’s absolutely necessary, nothing more, nothing less. Even the golden onions feel like little jewels, adding just the right touch of sweetness. The highest compliment I can give is that the dish’s clarity of intention perfectly matches their precision of execution.“

“Just popped in for lunch today and the environment was so sophisticated and relaxing. There was jazz in the radio and soft lighting and I was so happy to be out of the rain. The dragon roll was the best I’ve ever had and the service was excellent. What a hidden gem- I’ll be back!“
“Tom and his staff is the best you can find, the sushi is to die for, always the best ingredients, presentation of food is creative and second to none. I go often as it is the best in San Francisco. Thanks Tom.“

“What a wonderful place! We're very picky with our sushi, and this was great. The fish were all really good cuts, and the rolls were well made. The servers were also super friendly. I recommend their eel (donburi or rolls were both good textures/flavors)“

“This is a great little place to have sushi for lunch. I ordered a salmon teriyaki box and there was a generous portion of salmon, rice, salad, and veggies. My husband had a sushi box and said that it was very good. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The restaurant's very small so there's not much seating but it's possible to use a couple of picnic tables outside.“

“Was here on Christmas Eve, and the food, service, and ambience couldn’t have been better. Had clay pot dishes, both beef and tofu, assorted nigiri, Dragon roll - all wonderfully fresh, edamame, a shrimp tempura roll, and sake. We we all delighted. Thanks for adding to a beautiful Christmas Eve!“

“Dinner started off strong with flavorful chicken and beef skewers, and the salmon kama was a highlight—perfectly cooked and delicious.
The rolls were less impressive. The Rock & Roll and Spider rolls were drenched in eel sauce, which overpowered everything. I’m always a bit cautious when sushi comes heavily sauced—it feels like something’s being covered up. The sushi rice was also a bit soggy.
The uni, saba, and hamachi sushi were all fresh and enjoyable, though the uni portions were smaller than expected.
Bill came out to over $150. A little pricey for what we got, but with smarter ordering, I’d give it another try.
4 stars“

“A bit by the book, but with good variety. The rolls had a bit too much mayo/ toppings, but that's probably too accommodate the general audience. The staff was very efficient and caring. The decor functional, comfortable, and exactly what you would expect.“

“The food is good! The shrimp tempura udon is not on the menu, but the chef was able to accommodate our order. We are looking for soup its cold that time, but they dont have it on their menu. But they are flexible enough to make the shrimp and Veggie tempura Udon for us. Bomb sashimi FRESH! no fishy taste. Small salad as appetizer good dressing (not in the picture ?) we finished it right away. Like their tea. Everything is good ?. Come and visit their restaurant. The lady who served us is nice!
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access going in and out of the restaurant. The bathroom is wheelchair accessible too.“

“Favorite spot to stop by on my lunch break! Cute little shop by the City Hall building in SF. Owners and workers are always kind, patient, and welcoming! I’ve tried the spicy tuna bowl *$11 ish dollars* and the seafood poke bowl *$12.50* (honey mayo tempura and scallops). Portions are great and toppings and sauces are hefty. I love this spot and couldn’t recommend them more if you’re looking for a spot that’s delicious and decently priced!“

“My partner and I celebrated our 7-year anniversary at Wako and had an incredible experience - every bite we had was perfectly balanced and considered in the context of the meal. Everything was delicious but Chef Jin’s enthusiasm for the seasonal pike mackerel made me love it the most! Such obvious and deep respect for the food from everyone on staff, and the relaxed and cheerful vibe made it even better. We loved the staff and Chefs Jin and Ivan took care of us from the moment we stepped in the door - service was a true highlight. Friendly, funny, warm, and unpretentious, and everything you eat is explained super clearly and accessibly. Wako was the best meal I’ve had in several years, and we couldn’t have been happier to support a business run by such lovely people. Worth every penny. We’ll definitely be back!“
