“I've visited Corte Madera (Marin County) California a number of times, staying near Pacific Catch, but haven't tried it until now. I wish I had tried it sooner - it's great. The food was delicious and choices were plentiful. The service was good and the prices are very reasonable. I plan many more visits.“

“Great sushi place on Polk. Nice bar counter seating. A few other tables. Intimate setting. Food is fresh and innovative. Great wide selection of different fish to choose from. Sushi chefs are informative and friendly. Only downside is parking is difficult in the area. Take Uber!“

“Akiko’s Restaurant is a solid omakase spot that I’ve visited twice—once at the bar and once seated at a table—and the experience does vary depending on where you sit.
The bar seating clearly stands out. Portions felt more generous, and the personal interaction with the chef made a noticeable difference. Watching each nigiri being prepared and served directly to you adds warmth and intention that elevates the meal. The table seating is more comfortable, especially for a longer dinner, but the experience feels slightly less engaging.
Some of the nigiri were truly outstanding. The coffee-cured bluefin and the chocolate-cured ocean trout were both memorable and creative without being gimmicky. The toro tuna belly was also excellent—rich, clean, and perfectly balanced.
Same-day reservations were possible on both visits, which is a big plus for an omakase of this caliber in San Francisco. Overall, Akiko’s offers high-quality sushi and a reliable experience, with the bar seating being the way to go if you want the best version of the omakase.“

“Great sushi, perfectly prepared and presented. So glad I walked a few more blocks to go there. Small with a very friendly staff (my 2 Buddhi’s) made for enjoyable experience. Come to town at least once a year; plan to be back.“

“It is a simple dining room with some outdoor tables too. The sushi was fresh with lots of options. It is an extensive menu, not all sushi - but that is all I was there for. Convenient location to The Fisherman's Wharf area, doors down from Argonaut Hotel and less than 1 block from the Cablecar station.“

“Best sushi in the city. The chefs are super talented and the waitstaff are always great. Food is top notch. Good selection for different fish and apps. I usually go for omakase, but sometimes the kira kira or ninja roll. The atmosphere is not too loud. You can usually find parking within a couple blocks.“

“I tried sushi toni on a work trip and it was so good I went back 2 days later. The next time I was in town I couldn’t wait to go back for more great sushi. And the staff are so nice! Get the cilantro roll and 49ers roll and you will not be disappointed!“

“I really love this place! The sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. It’s so close to my house, which makes it perfect for a nice walk with family or friends to enjoy some great sushi together. The atmosphere is cozy, and everything always feels relaxed and pleasant. Definitely one of my favorite neighborhood spots!“

“The best sushi meal you can get for around $100 for two people in sf! The staff is so nice and welcoming and you can’t go wrong with any of the nigiri - the salmon, ocean trout, soy marinated tuna and scallop are my faves. The double tuna roll and baked scallop rolls are also unreal“

“Totally understand why this place has such a high rating!
Sushi was amazing, the wait was a little long, but if you’re on a date totally recommend, I ordered sushi and another thing ( don’t remember the name, but it was delicious),
And the fish feels sooooo fresh!
Definitely will be returning back,
Make sure to make reservation, it’s super easy, since the place is small if you come in a group might be challenging to get seated immediately,
Definitely will be coming back! 🫶🏻“

“Love this spot! Food is amazing (especially love the gyoza and hand rolls) and they're super nice and go above and beyond with service. I'm a vegetarian and accidentally ordered the meat gyoza instead of the veggie gyoza tonight, and when I called to confirm that it was meat Stan offered to deliver the veggie gyoza to me right before closing, even though it was my mistake“

“Tom and his staff is the best you can find, the sushi is to die for, always the best ingredients, presentation of food is creative and second to none. I go often as it is the best in San Francisco. Thanks Tom.“

“I was impressed by the freshness of all the ingredients, nori, fish, rice. I could not pay more but I was still hungry so I went another sushi place. There I got full, but the taste at Keiko is why you pay more. The authentic Japanese restaurant seems like it has died, as the cost of doing business is severe. There is no Japanese mood, Japanese chefs, but a few places have Japanese head waitresses. It is not the same as eating sushi in the old days. Nothing truly Japanese about sushi, served by Latinos, with classic jazz. Keiko is closer to authentic. Closer, expensive, still not really Japanese. Amerkatasdeska…“

“Miso soup was good; not super flavorful but at least not overly salty like so many. Donburi was served in a flat plate with protein on top, rather than in the traditional bowl. I like the change; easier to get a mixed chopstick full of protein and rice. There is a lovely outdoor space where you could enjoy watching the bike path traffic but unfortunately it was not usable during my visit due to yellow jackets.“

“We went during a happy hour and ordered the Lion King and Spicy Tuna rolls, fried tofu, hot sake and cold beer. In addition to the insanely good quality of the food, the price came out to $60 total. You get excellent food for low prices. This should be your go to for sushi in SF!“

“This is a great little place to have sushi for lunch. I ordered a salmon teriyaki box and there was a generous portion of salmon, rice, salad, and veggies. My husband had a sushi box and said that it was very good. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The restaurant's very small so there's not much seating but it's possible to use a couple of picnic tables outside.“

“I’m adding a star for Yoki after another great visit. I went again for the all‑you‑can‑eat option and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the sashimi and nigiri were. The tuna especially was top notch.
This time I tried a few more rolls, and the Heaven Roll really stood out — spicy tuna spread over the top with salmon and sashimi inside. It was the spiciest tuna I’ve ever had, and it lived up to its name.
Service is excellent here. I love their ordering system with iPads at the table — perfect for all‑you‑can‑eat since you can order a little at a time. They do lock you out briefly between orders, but for two people it wasn’t an issue. Waters were always refilled, and it’s easy to request the check right from the iPad.
Both times I’ve been here, my son and I finished every bite on the table. No complaints at all. I’d like to try some of their cooked dishes next time — the tempura, kama, and mini udon bowls looked delicious — but the sashimi, nigiri, and rolls are so good we haven’t had room yet.
Overall, Yoki continues to impress. Fresh fish, great service, and a fun ordering system make it a spot worth coming back to.“

“This little place, within easy walking distance to Union Square and so many hotels, was absolutely a pleasant surprise. I thought it was a really good value for what I got (bento, maki handroll, lg hot sake for $41 before tip). Service was exemplary, and the atmosphere was surprisingly homey. Was it the best I've ever had? No. Am I going back? Yes!“

“Delicious food, we left feeling full and content. The service was lovely, and the fish was awesome. The atmosphere was certainly interesting as it’s against the wall of the mall. You enter from the west side of the Japan center mall, walk straight until you hit Andersen bakery then turn left and it’ll be on your right. Can be hard to find!“

“Consistently delicious poke! Not fancy, but always fresh and really fairly priced. I love getting the build-your-own poke bowl, plenty of sauce and flavor without being overwhelming. The spam musubis are all great too (I’ve tried the classic, fried, and spicy). It’s family-owned and operated, which makes me even happier to support them. Perfect for takeout, though I’ll sometimes dine in for lunch (just note there isn’t a ton of seating).“

“Dinner started off strong with flavorful chicken and beef skewers, and the salmon kama was a highlight—perfectly cooked and delicious.
The rolls were less impressive. The Rock & Roll and Spider rolls were drenched in eel sauce, which overpowered everything. I’m always a bit cautious when sushi comes heavily sauced—it feels like something’s being covered up. The sushi rice was also a bit soggy.
The uni, saba, and hamachi sushi were all fresh and enjoyable, though the uni portions were smaller than expected.
Bill came out to over $150. A little pricey for what we got, but with smarter ordering, I’d give it another try.
4 stars“

“My wife loves sushi - me, no thanks. But I am happy to dine at a restaurant that also serves Tempura. We found Sakura Sushi and I saw they did In fact have other choices besides sushi on their menu. We visited on a weeknight and were seated immediately. I liked the vibe and feel of the restaurant and the person who sat us was friendly.
After a few minutes we placed our order - I had the Tempura Dinner and my wife ordered the nightly special with Nigiri.
We both ordered a beer which arrived shortly after our order along with Miso Soup. It was a good Miso, with long strands of mushroom that I had not had before. The Tempura Dinner had 3 pieces of good sized Shrimp and a variety of battered and friend vegetables. My wife’s special had an assortment of Nigiri Sushi which she really enjoyed. Prices were reasonable given the portion size, flavor and service. I would happily return to Sakura Sushi for another meal.“

“It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Godzilla Sushi and the question is…WHY??? The mural was painted in 1989, before some of you babies were even born! Amy had a bunch of Spicy Tuna, which still delivers like it used to in 2000 when we would throw down on a Friday night! The staff was friendly and note: this is very convenient if you are visiting UCSF hospital or getting X-rays etc. That is how life changes, right???“

“I will drive over an hour from Sacramento just to eat here. The menu changed a bit since I got hooked ... my favorite dish (appears to be no longer available) was the chimichurri bowl with grilled salmon over a bed of salad greens and quinoa. Still, it is a wonderful experience to dine here.“
