“Cool sushi spot, atmosphere was very chill. I was pretty much the only one eating at the time. Sashimi was good, the 49er roll wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be but this pace was still great. Staff was very courteous and the food came really fast. They also give you large portions. You'll get full fast at this spot.“

“Very good. I'm not really a fan of Chinese food but my son asked it was his birthday and the place we usually order from was closed. I have to admit it was really good. “This takeout only spot has the MOST affordable and FRESH sashimi and sushi in the entire Bay!! The omakase box features fresh pieces of salmon, tuna, fatty tuna, roe, and scallop for $16.99. Zero fishiness at all. But my favorite is actually the seared salmon—omg it literally melts in your mouth 👌🏻👌🏻 The California roll uses actual snow crab and all their other rolls are good too. Only thing is they don’t open on weekends but they have a location in SF now. Highly recommend!“

“This was the BEST food I've had in years. I sat there and literally closed my eyes so I could savor the experience and feel ever morsel move through my body. We had the Richmond Roll and the Pink Lady. The vegetarian options are so delicious that I am going to go back over and over again just to try everything on the menu. I literally stopped my conversation because I was having such a spiritual experience with the food. I could not focus on anything other than enjoying it. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and kind. The presentation of the dishes is immaculate. I felt like I was getting a Michelin star quality meal.

“I've been many times and always enjoy the food. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary today, so in my reservation request I asked if they could play our song after we got there. Without saying anything to the staff about it when we arrived, the song came on a little after we were seated. We both teared up a bit; it surprised me how something so simple could feel so special. “This was the first time my husband and I ever heard of this restaurant. We were a little worried about coming in as the closing time was only about 30 minutes after we arrived. We were welcomed and sat immediately. The Nigiri was absolutely amazing for AYCE. The pricing was decent for two people. Sure the rolls are smaller but it makes sense for an AYCE establishment. The service was pretty good just a very minor issue of waiting between orders but that is understandable.

“My Husband and I have been looking for a solid sushi place for us and our two teenagers. As you can imagine finding a place to suit everyone can be a challenge. After 2 misfires we landed here and though the other two might be nice for an array of other reasons, this fits all expectations across the board.

The environment is very cute and like being immersed in a sushi place in Japan(Gorgeous woodwork). The staff was friendly and there was a lovely live musician that really said the environment to the next level for a Friday night out with the family.

The food was incredible and since we went for happy hour, everything was priced better than just about any Restaurant we’ve been to recently. The rations in the rolls were proper nice chunks of avocado!!! GET THE SPIDER TACO!!!

“Cha-Ya is very good traditional Japanese food that is all vegan. All of their food is excellent from the sushi to the udon to the various small plate offerings. The ingredients are so fresh and high quality and the food is so comforting and delicious. Prices are quite reasonable, but be aware that it is cash or venmo only. There is rarely a wait for a table, and the service is quick and friendly. It's got a homey/old school vibe and isn't a chic modern place, but that's a good match to the very homey traditional food. Highly recommend if you want a big meal that will leave you feeling great at the end.“

Atmosphere is good for groups, meetup, seniors (flat floor) and small parties. Will return for orange spicy salmon (Netscreen) roll.

“This is a great spot! The service was great and very fast. The person serving us was very nice and attentive. We had the karage and sushi combo which came with more fish than we were expecting! Everything was very fresh and nicely presented. They had a lot of different seating areas -- it was two of us this time but would be suitable for bigger groups too. Service was great, they accommodated for a party of 8 without reservation with about a 15 minute wait (friday dinner, 6pm). There is a physical waiting list upon arrival, staff was efficient and kind despite the large group inconvenience.
