“When people say a place is 'a hole in the wall', it can go two ways. In this case, it means intimate, small and you hope it's not crowded when you go because there are more fans than seats.

We got lucky, and went before (5pm) the crowd flooded in immediatelyafter we ordered. There was only one Hamachi Kama in the house, and we were the fortunate ones to have tasted it. It's clear this fish wasn't previously frozen, (if it was, they knew how to mask it) it was flaky, super fresh and flavorful.

Each piece of the Kensington roll was SO large, I'm embarrassed to share a photo of me cramming it in my mouth, because it was impossible to be graceful.

The beer with a hint of peach was a must try, it perfectly paired with everything we ordered.

All of the great reviews of how good this place is, were true, including mine.

“Sun Sun Sushi is goated. Extremely fair prices for freshly made sushi. The owner is also very kind in a quiet way - one time, he replaced the container I grabbed from the shelf with a fresh batch he just prepared. There's also student discounts like BOGOF if you order on UberEats.“

Sashimi was good, the 49er roll wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be but this pace was still great. Staff was very courteous and the food came really fast. I ordered a caterpillar roll, Fortune roll, Giants roll and a Sake avocado making roll. Everything was delicious and I want to return and try so other items. “Cute location in Northbrae, friendly and family oriented location. Sometimes you're lucky and find parking in front, don't park at the grocery store across the street and walk over. The wait for a table is never long, I usually come in dinner on a weekday so there's no wait. Weekend dinners can be a 10-20 min wait, better than many Japanese restaurants. The wait for your order is short too, the ost I've waited was a little less than 15 min. The food is great, the portion is great, the prices are fair, you can be happy with several appetizers to save money. A mixed vegetable tempura plate and house salad is filling. Everything is a win here, haven't had a bad meal yet.“

Price was probably a little on the higher side and the place is definitely on the smaller side, but those downsides are dwarfed by how good the fish is. “The restaurant is small, so we had to wait outside during the busy weekend.

The servers were very friendly, kept us updated on the wait, and explained the menu.

The fish was fresh, there were lots of delicious rolls to choose from, and our kids absolutely loved the crispy chicken katsu.“

“I have been coming to Nikko Sushi for years. It is a no brainer for an easy and delicious lunch. I make use of the parking lot, the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the food is great! “My Husband and I have been looking for a solid sushi place for us and our two teenagers. As you can imagine finding a place to suit everyone can be a challenge. After 2 misfires we landed here and though the other two might be nice for an array of other reasons, this fits all expectations across the board.

The environment is very cute and like being immersed in a sushi place in Japan(Gorgeous woodwork). The staff was friendly and there was a lovely live musician that really said the environment to the next level for a Friday night out with the family.

The food was incredible and since we went for happy hour, everything was priced better than just about any Restaurant we’ve been to recently. The rations in the rolls were proper nice chunks of avocado!!! GET THE SPIDER TACO!!!

“Authentic Japanese cuisine and warm environment near downtown Berkeley. Servers are always welcoming and friendly. I love how fast the food is well prepared and served at Musashi. My friends and I often come here during lunch hours, and although the restaurant is packed, we never felt less attention or being rushed. Also the noodles are very delicious!“

“Great lady who gave me her charger since I was stuck there in Albany area with a dead phone and in need of getting an UBER. So I went in, asked for charger and ordered their chicken+Beef Teriyaki lunch box. And it was delicious. Got my phone charged too. Happy customer here. Will eat there again if in the area.“

“This place is so worth it. My family has been going for 10+ years, almost since the beginning of the restaurant when it was in a different location. Aki-San will tell you when you’re eating something wrong, but it’s not mean-spirited. You should definitely ask him about his life and his journey to becoming a sushi chef. The sushi is the best you will ever have, even better than sushi I had when I visited Japan. It may be very expensive, but if you have the means it is extremely worth the price. Don’t ask for specific things, get what he recommends (but don’t be scared if you have diet restrictions to ask for something that works). Is is an amazing experience so if you go really enjoy it.“

I had a miso soup & salad -- but my entree came out before I was even close to done with either. Then the kids/mall of it all. A kid loudly banging on the piano outside, another kid refusing to put his phone away to eat -- kids screaming and whining. It's not the experience I want at a restaurant, certainly not at sushi. The restaurant has little to no control over that, so no stars off for obnoxious other guests. The TVs ruined the vibe. It's so cute inside, why ruin it with screens everywhere???? Paper menus, ask the mall to move the piano, ditch the TVs and it could be a really great place. Still good food and workers. Not sure if I'll go back soon.“
