The setup is more like a fast-casual or cafeteria-style restaurant rather than a traditional sit-down steakhouse—you order at the counter, grab a table, and the food is brought out. It actually works well if you’re looking for a quicker meal without the long wait of a full-service restaurant.

I ordered the steak medium well, and they cooked it correctly with a nice sear and good flavor. It was seasoned a bit heavier on the salt and pepper than I personally prefer, but it still had a good taste overall. The meal came with a fresh side salad, loaded baked potato, and Texas toast, making it a filling plate and a solid value for San Francisco.

I also tried the chili, which was surprisingly good—hearty, flavorful, and definitely worth adding to the meal. The food looked fresh and came out in a reasonable amount of time.

Overall, Tad’s Steakhouse is a good option if you want a satisfying steak meal in a casual, no-frills environment. While it may not have the atmosphere of a traditional steakhouse, the food quality and convenience make it worth checking out. I’d definitely return.“

“I’ve been coming to Izzy’s for 35 years. This was the first time I’ve been back since the remodel 6 months ago. As usual the steaks and sides were fabulous. However, the four of us ordered several glasses of wine and the “pours” were pathetic! I don’t mind paying top dollar for a glass of wine but I don’t appreciate a 1/4 glass of wine that was barely two sips! Don’t try to pay off your remodel expenses by cheap skating your wine pours! “I ate there last week for the first time in several years. The menu is large and many different styles of food. I had the Prime Rib and it was EXCELLENT. There was 2 others in my party and they were equally impressed. Another benefit is that there are no parking problems. I will definitely eat there again.“

“We arrived before our reservation time and they were able to accommodate. Our waiter was great with detailing the dishes and answering my culinary questions. Service was slow. It took nearly 25 minutes to receive cocktails. I had to inquire about appetizers which were ordered with cocktails. The GM was very present and walking the dining area but not speaking to any guests or acknowledging that they are waiting without drinks and food. The food was good. I have a different palate so my good may great for another person. The only negative was how long everything took when it wasn’t a night where there was a full house of guests. If that can improve, we may return. For context we ordered Smoked Bourbon Prickly Pear Margarita Calamari Crab & Artichoke Dip Crab Stuffed Sole topped with roasted garlic and shallot shrimp and a side of mashed potatoes Ribeye with compound butter and Cold Water Lobster Tail We switched from cocktails to wine with the main dish.“

“Old school steakhouse that focuses more on flavor and large portions than variety or top quality cuts. If you're thinking Ruth's Chris or even Texas Roadhouse you're barking up the wrong tree. This is more like a diner steak, but executed very well. Your choices are prime rib or NY strip with a short list of sides (price includes salad, potato, and one vegetable). There might have been some kind of fish or mushroom option but no one is ordering it. NY Steak was large, cut about 1/2 inch thick, cooked properly, and smothered in peppercorn sauce. Prime rib was enormous. Prices were highish but fair for the portion and quality. Decor is dated but that's part of the charm. If you want to fuss over marbling and boutique cuts go somewhere else, but if you know what you're getting into this can be a great dining experience.“

“We came in for a late lunch after checking into our hotel. The food came out fast, I think the owner was our waitress. Their gator sauce was to die for! We did fish and chips and two orders of calamari! I even told one of the neighbors in the hotel to go try it for their lunch today! Can’t wait to go back to visit!!“
