“I don’t say this lightly—this place is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. The décor is colorful without being over-the-top, and the music added just the right energy to the dining experience.

Now, the food—absolutely incredible. We started with the super nachos, the guacamole inside was perfectly seasoned with just the right kick of lime and jalapeño. For the main course, I ordered the carne asada tacos, and they were out of this world. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, served on soft, handmade corn tortillas. My friend had the enchiladas verdes, and she couldn’t stop raving about the tangy green sauce and how everything was cooked to perfection.

What really stood out, though, was the attention to detail and authenticity. You can tell everything is made from scratch and with love. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing—our server even recommended a house-made horchata that turned out to be the best I’ve ever had.

“Had a nice burrito bowl here recently. These are tricky to do well. But they nailed it. Ingredients were in the right proportion. And they didn't skimp out on the carne asada (which plenty of places seem to do when you order a bowl). My friend was very satisfied with her al pastor tacos.

“I've waited 15 years to try this place .. because I'm always rushing. Well, today I finally went in and had a meal. There is some front street parking, side parking and rear parking. There's also a bus stop less (101) than a block away but I walked to it from a nearby hotel. The notion of authentic food is obvious by the cashier's and cooks I had the opportunity to thank for such a delicious meal. I was fortunate enough to have my lunch to myself because no one was eating inside during my brief 1 hour there.. however there were non-stop to-go orders the whole time. I ordered my usual test food of Carne Asada Nachos and a Coke. The coke tasted like a coke should. It wasn't flat. The carne asada nachos were made with the exact amount of chips and fixings and meat. There was no chip eaten without something on it which is rare. Usually most places put too much chips. There was a good serving of guacamole, sour cream, unmelted cheese, pico de gallo and meat. It could easily feed 2 but I only ate 1x in the morning so this was my lunch and dinner. I opted for both red and green salsa .. which were both delicious. The red was slightly spicier but not too much. I have 1 before and 1 mid photos so you can see the balanced portions. In my opinion the cooks were nice and know how to cook in my humble opinion. The food was delicious and I'm definitely coming back tomorrow to test their breakfast burrito. I highly recommend coming in and trying their food. There's plenty to do in the area to walk off your meal afterwards. All in all .. definitely a monthly meal for me worth the extra 5 min drive from my office.“

“Have tried two other Taco Stand locations and now came to give this one a try.

I think this location was a little bit of hit or miss depending on the day and the menu item.

We got some tacos delivered home and sister-in-law, friend as well as husband loved everything they got! Sister-In-Law and friend were visiting from out of town and they really liked the food here so much that they wanted to get it again before leaving from their visit.
They really seemed to like Pollo(chicken) and Shrimp tacos.
One thing to note is that when you order delivery on doordash they end up charging for adding the sauces which is not the case. When you put a pickup order from the store directly because you can just take as many sauces as you would like.

Husband and I also brought another friend here who was visiting from Canada and she was totally surprised by the quality of the tacos here! The pork taco must have been her favorite and I think it was the combination of the pork and pineapple in there!

I really loved the Shrimp Taco! This was my first time trying the shrimp taco and I think the combination of everything went really well. I was not expecting that cheese to be put on the tortilla so next time I think I would ask them to skip that to make it a little healthier. There was quite an amount of oil in the shrimp though, so I think that's another thing that I would like to change but otherwise overall flavor profile was lovely.

I usually love the fish taco from the other locations, but this one was subpar. It was actually quite a big thick fillet of fish so a lot of the bites felt like eating a big chunk of fish and not enough sauce or flavoring and tortilla to go with. Definitely appreciate the large portion size of the fish in there, but I think it ended up being too much fish for that one particular taco. Husband also have the same experience so it must have just been this particular day that the pieces of fish were very big. Definitely need to give it another try!“

I go here regularly and I would rate them a little above average. Their prices aren't too bad compared to some places that have raised their prices 50% or more in the last few years charging $18+ for a carne asada burrito so I'm glad for that. Overall, I would recommend going here if you want cheap prices and good decent food.“

“I was craving Mexican, and a friend recommended this place as we were down in San Diego. The restaurant is a pretty small space. Counter dinning was available, but the chairs were stacked up. There were only two people working, and a sauce bar. They ran out of pork.

I ordered the quesadilla, and it was delicious. It filled me up. I've also tried the fish tacos, but I'd say that the tortilla was dry and it was just ok. Spicy shrimp sure is spicy tho.“

“Okay, the food was certainly very good for the price. I had Ahi, it is only offered medium to well done. There was no pink in the middle. Probably a safety issue. Mom had two fish, salmon and another. The salmon was a bit fishy tasting. I am picky! But, overall, the price was low, staff friendly, there was an ample quantity, with rice, and, if I remember correctly, a small salad.
It's an order at the counter, staff bring the food to your table experience. There is indoor and outdoor seating.“

“My family and I just left. I have to say, the food was fantastic. I got the Spinach Tequila fettuccine. It was so flavorful. Our server Jose was great. He made sure everything was going well. Specifically, my wife asked for a candle or something to light up the table. He immediately walked away and brought back a candle.

On to the negatives. Despite being a phenomenal location, the environment lacked ambiance. Sadly the restaurant was very empty so we got a table right by the beach glass. However the tables and area had no lighting. The fire pits were not on, and the restaurant has no signage.

The food and Jose saved the night and earned the 4 stars, but the ambiance needs some love. I hope the restaurant sticks around.“

The young man Roderick (Rod) Mayfield, behind the register is one of the smartest hiring decisions management has made. The level of genuine kindness and caring that my husband and i were met with and further witnessed as he assisted others needs to be commended. The most notable was when he assisted 2 elderly women, perhaps in their 80's and a bit slow with age, with an immeasurable level of patence and compassion, that very few people posess. This young man could not assist them quick enough with carrying their food to their table as one clearly walked with a cane. He has restored a bit of my faith in humanity with all the hatred going on in the world today. People should take note and emulate him, even a fraction of his behavior.
