“Five stars isn’t enough to rate the quality of the food, the delightfulness of the staff, or the ambiance at the Flying Fish Grill. We’re visiting the area primarily for golf, and our caddie told us that the Flying Fish Grill is his favorite restaurant in the area. We completely understand why! SO many “WOWs” in this meal from start to finish. We had the chips and ginger salsa, Calamari, Crab Tower, Salad, Sea Bass, and hot fudge sundae. Every. Single. Bite was amazing. And the service was the best we’ve experienced in the Monterey area. That’s saying a lot as we’re staying at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. From the very first contact on the phone, to the last bite of dessert we felt like family. Absolutely fantastic experience in every possible way!“

Mathews the bartender has always been outstanding — friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel at home. This is one of those places I’ll always make time to visit whenever I’m in Monterey. We’ve been here tons of times, but today when we went in, the service wasn’t the same, waitress seemed upset for some reason because I asked for extra avocado & I had to ask another waitress for some chips 20 minutes later because the original waitress never asked us if we needed anything else after they brought us our food. “My friends and I have been craving for clam chowder and were recommended this place.

Our full order: clam chowder, fried seafood platter, and fish tacos.

Chowder was on point! It was pretty good and stayed piping hot for a hot minute. The tacos were huge, they were pretty average and same with the seafood platter.

The restaurant had a good amount of seats inside and outside. We went on a weekend and it gets packed pretty quickly. Service was quick, you just order at the counter and pick up your food when it's ready.

Bottom line: Will be back!“

“We were looking for a place that offered seafood without breaking the bank. This was the place. We got our seafood fix with shrimp bags and crawfish bags and the others in our group who don't like seafood were able to get Chinese food. Win win for everyone.“

“AMAZING!! Such a wonderful place to dine!! Started with fresh oysters & crab cakes BUT even before our appetizers, they provided a special champagne & caviar service - soooo special!! For our meal - Lobster Risotto was just CRAZY GOOD!! It had plenty of lobster BUT it was topped off with shrimp scampi & scallop - CRAZY good!! We enjoyed a window seat so looked out over the harbour. The platter included Clam Chowder, King Crab, Snow Crab, Dungeness Crab, Lobster, Jumbo Prawns, mini prawns, clams and mussels.“

It’s perfect for corporate and tour groups and celebrations, offering a spacious layout, al fresco dining upstairs and downstairs with great views of the Monterey Harbor, and a comfortable bar area also with fantastic views. The restaurant is very well run, with professional and friendly servers and hostesses who make the experience seamless. They welcome families and with the big space and a variety of seating options, it's a great choice.

For lunch yesterday, everything was delicious. They have a big menu with lots of choices. The Jumbo Coconut Prawns with chunks of sweet mango were crispy and wonderful, the Goat Cheese and Beet Salad was excellent, and the garlic bread was crunchy, tasty and fresh. Special thanks to our server, Jorge Ranilo, who was superb—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced. He made our visit especially enjoyable.

“I brought out-of-town guests to Abalonetti's. They were impressed with both the menu and the food they ordered. One guest said the lobster ravioli was the best she's ever had. We were somewhat disappointed in the mains. The pork bellies were so-so. The halibut was dry and a bit overcooked. The steak and morels were good but not great.
