“Mashaallah started out as a food truck but now has a stall in the food court of Westfield San Francisco. Despite its humble appearance, this small business offered some of the best Pakistani food I've had in the city from its steam table of freshly-prepared meat and vegetable curries. A star dish here (which came recommended by Soleil Ho) was the Lamb Korma, made of super tender, lean, meaty chunks of lamb in a spiced curry. On my combination plate, I also got the Chana Masala (chickpea curry) and the Palak Paneer (cheese cubes in a velvety puréed spinach sauce), served along with rice. Every item was delicately spiced and flavorful without being too salty, and the garnishes of raw onion and cilantro brought out the freshness of the dishes. On the side, I also had an order of Garlic Naan (another star item), which was perfectly soft and chewy and had a wonderful flavor and aroma from the garlic and herbs. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable too!“
“My friend recommended this place to me. The place is fairly simple and clean. You order at the counter. There are a few tables for you to dine in, but I find most people order to take out.I like the Simurgh kebab sandwich. The kebabs were delicious but what stood out for me was the Turkish bread. It's not like anything I've had before. It is grilled, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is probably my favorite sandwich bread now. They make them all from scratch.I've only been there twice, but it's a place I would return again.“

“Kiss My Seoul is a great reason to come to the alley across from Hall of Justice, even if you don't have jury duty. A very well priced, very large bowl of food, with many ingredients. I had the pork, it was seasoned beautifully. This is now my go-to when I want "Seoul Food". ??“
“This Korean market used to be in Downtown Oakland and a few years ago to moved to Montclair which is my neighborhood so I personally was happy it moved there.EM Deli has a wide range of Korean and Asian products ranging from meats, noodles, rices, some veggies and a variety of sauces and spices.There is some prepared cooked foods (fried rice, kimpap, etc.)They have a meat section which has Korean bbq grade cuts (thinly sliced steak, pork for hotpot or Korean bbq)“
“Friendly staff and lovely seating interior. Food was delicious with good wok fire. The sizzling seafood plate was flavorful and went well with jasmine rice. The red duck curry was delicious with sticky rice. Coconut pad Thai was very satisfying and great portion. I saw lots of take out orders getting delivered every several minutes at dinner time. Glad to find out about this restaurant as it stays open till 10 pm. Easy parking in its own lot. I will come back to try other dishes.“
“We hired Jason to cook and serve two paellas for a Christmas party. His paella is delicious, made with fresh and creative ingredients, and beautifully prepared! Our guests really enjoyed the food! Jason was also very responsive and easy to work with in planning the event. We highly recommend him and look forward to another paella party in the future!“

“GREAT FLAVOR, GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICES.Been hunting around the East Bay for a couple of weeks now looking for that good Kefta And Doner experience, and I was really disappointed with a couple of the restaurants because their meat just didn't have any flavor. Really bland.Not here! Ordered the Kofte kebab plate, and it was absolutely delicious. Tender perfectly seasoned on fresh pita bread, a scoop of rice, both yogurt and hot sauce, and a dollop of Baba Ganoush.This is one of the best combination Middle Eastern plates I've had in the East bay, ever. I highly recommend this place. Clean interior, friendly staff, clean bathroom, and it easy to find location.“
“I stopped here out of curiosity to after getting items from Arizmendi and Los Cantaros Taqueria. I got the Honey Cake slice, chocolate baklava, and pistachio almond cookies (gluten free). Hatice the owner is very friendly and answered any questions I had. The Honey Cake was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness, not too much. I ate up the cake and baklava but shared the cookies. My family members said the cookies were great. I'll try to arrive before 12noon another time to get their breakfast items, like the egg in the hole. This will be one of my new go to places for food.“
“We have now been here several times. This the perfect 1/2 way point between picking my son and going home. It is across from the Coast Guard Island. The location is safe. Plenty of parking. We come for the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue and friendly service. Everything is great! Especially when the mother-in-law makes a surprise visit and cooks up her specialty pansit (not on the menu). Everything is fresh and cooked (and barbecued) with love. I think we’ve tried everything now. My favorite is toss between the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue Banh Mi sandwich and “THANK QUE” chicken bowl. There are a few tables inside and when the weather is nice, plenty of seating outside. I look forward to hearing live music in the future out there.Parking: Parking is shared with the charter school during weekday school hours. Take notice of parents, zooming in/out of their designated entrance and exit at the end of the school day!“
“I had the best red lentils I've ever tasted here. The vegetable wot is especially good, well seasoned greens, cabbage, corn, etc. on injera. And the parking's good, especially for Berkeley. My companion and I each got parking spots right in front of the restaurant.“
“I like the pastries here but I usually come Sunday morning and they are either late to open - or not open it seems today. Also the pastries are extremely limited and seem left over at that time. I mean just close Sunday I guess. I doubt I'm coming back again that time.“
“First time eating here. I got the Chicken Curry rice bowl with the sides and hot sauce. It was so delicious!!! Amazing. And? Next time I’ll ask for less rice and more food on top. It was pretty rice heavy and wished I’d gotten twice as many greens. And weird - I only got one piece plantain, and? regardless- the my meal was amazing. “I used Burke and Black for a 500+ person gala event and they did a beyond amazing job! The charcuterie, cheese, and dessert layout was elevated, pristine, and attractive. Nicole and her team are so easy to work with - they are passionate professionals who know exactly what they're doing. Highly recommend them to anyone whose planning a big event (or even a small party) and needs some charcuterie magic.“
“Chef Lala of Jusla Eats was a joy to work with. She was professional, responsive, and runs an efficient operation. Her food was top notch - I ordered the honey garlic chicken, fried catfish, mac and cheese, greens, yams, banana pudding and peach cobbler for an extended family and friends meal. Everything was cooked to perfection, and seasoned just right. Everyone went back for seconds, and raved about the food. I started recommending her to my friends before I even left the reception!“
“Dennis was very responsive. And assigned team for event was also very responsive. Team brought in their own plates silverware, tools to the party home. Arrived early and took everything back out. Their storage equipment was clean and organized! Appetizers were a bit dry, but salads, Chicken, salmon, ribeye, dinner rolls, and mashed potatoes were wonderful!!!! “Staying in Chinatown, it was harder to find a vegetarian breakfast/brunch nearby than I expected. K Five Fifty is an unassuming counter in the expansive lobby of 550 Kearny. Turns out it's a full kitchen with a chef cooking to order, although some items are packaged for grab and go. The menu is brief but flexible. I had the avocado toast. It includes poached eggs, but he was happy to scramble them for me. I'm guessing you can make this vegan by swapping the eggs for one of the sides. Friendly proprietor, great service, and excellent value. All the ingredients were fresh and the toast was an excellent crispy whole grain sour dough that held up to the thick avocado. As far as ambiance, I was content to chill out and read to the sound of the chef chopping his mis en place and the muted lobby muzak.“

“Definitely the best Indian food in all of the Bay. It's mostly a to go place, but there is some seating including a nice outside patio area. If you come on a Saturday, it's next to all the galleries so view art and eat well. It shares the location with a wonderful Jamaican chef. Try the stuff naan, best daal takika imaginable (made fresh to order) and the Rogan lamb. This will become your favorite Indian restaurant.“
“Brian Catered a luncheon I had for the Oakland women’s rowing club. Serving 36 women, six of them being vegan, he crafter the absolute Perfect menu. Ceviche, sliders, a berry salad, mushroom empanadas as well as pulled pork, shrimp skewers, and a beautiful vegetable medley. Casual, yet elegantly displayed, the flavor of each dish was outstanding. I can hardly wait for his Montclair location to open. I couldn’t recommend Cafe 15 more adamantly.“

“Jasmine Catering run by Chef Oded Hilu was amazing throughout our wedding planning process and even better on the day of. We got married at the Brazil Room, where Jasmine Catering is a preferred catering vendor for the venue. We did a taste testing with Oded about a year prior to the wedding. He made the tasting experience super personable and comfortable for my husband and I.As we planned the wedding, we had many questions about the day of and he was super fast and responsive up until the very end. He helped us choose the right menu for our guests. He helped us with table and chair set up.On the day of— his team was amazing! They were fast and efficient in setting everything up. They don’t have much time to set up and I was nervous hoping it would all be set up in time. But his team did it and they were very professional and helpful to our coordinator and her team.During the wedding, the staff was awesome. They were attentive, quick, and respectful to our guests. They made sure champagne and wine glasses were full all night. They made sure to use our bar decor and kept our guests happy with the bar all night. The food was amazing! Our guests are still talking about the amazing food especially the salad. lol!! I think about that balsamic dressing all the time. “Wow, what a wonderful night! We had a party for my husband's birthday last night at the Oakland location of Kitchen on Fire, and it was perfection from start to finish. The booking was easy and the communication between booking and the event was perfect. I went early to take some wine and decorations and they were there 2 hours before to meet and greet me.Once the party started, we were given some cheese and cold cuts to take the edge off the hunger while we were prepping. Chef Anthony was superb. He was flexible to how we conducted the event, letting us do as much as possible on our own, while imparting his extensive experience to make us better cooks! We came away with many little tips and tricks to make cooking at home easier, safer and more fun.We chose to make 4 small plates which were Asian themed. We make Thai larb, Fresh Spring Rolls, Fried rice with Shrimp, and Chicken pot stickers. All the ingredients were set out on the work tables and we broke into groups to do the final chopping and prep with Chef hopping from group to group to make sure we didn't goof anything up. Finally time to go to the "fire" to make perfect browned but tender pot stickers, spicy and flavorful larb, and tasty fresh fried rice. We ate the dishes as we cooked and it was plenty of food to satisfy us all.We brought our own beer/wine, but quickly realized we needed all our senses to do the "work" and not cut off any fingers! I cannot say enough about what an enjoyable and fun evening this was for all the guests and my husband on his special birthday. I highly recommend this venue for your next event or party - you will have a great time while learning some new cooking skills!“

Loved the chef, great guy. Our only regret was that we are so busy partying our guests ate all the paella. “my go-to burrito place. Always friendly service. I like my burritos very spicy, and la estrella is one of the few places that will go as heavy on the habanero as I like. Super fast if you order over the phone, too. I mostly eat vegetarian and they make a very good veggie burrito. The fish is good, too.“
