Bettenjan bi tahina: So flavorful! Loved all the sauces, and the dish came together beautifully — healthy food with great presentation.

The not-so-good:

Portion sizes were quite small, so we left feeling a bit unsatisfied.

The sumac spritz tasted mostly like sugar water with barely any other flavor.

Overall, a nice place if you’re looking for healthy options, though it would be great to see some chicken kebabs for non-vegetarians and falafel choices for vegetarians.“

“The food was really good. The standouts were the Calamari Fritti, Caponatta, and the Cosacca. The Ruccola was the only dish that felt flat, but tasted fresh. Service was good and we luckily did not need a reservation. Would definitely return and it's recommended!“

“The char siu pork is incredibly tender. The cold noodles with peanut sauce and chili oil had plenty of sauce and were perfectly cooked. The bbq brisket noodles with soup was delicious, the broth was amazing and the meat and noodles were also cooked perfectly. The staff was working tirelessly and were very accommodating. “You enter through a walkway full of displays. Then a beautiful patio, up a ramp where you can grab a menu and wait in line. You place your order at the register and get a number. We found a table, grabbed ourselves water and waited for food to come out as its made. Luckily we were sharing plates so it didn’t matter how long between dishes.“

Its a great place to meet for coffee in the most beautiful Colonial house! The atmosphere is amazing and would be a great place to work or complete school assignments.

I ordered a Caramel Machiato (hot) with oatmilk and it was one of the best cups of coffee I've had! The brie and ham croissant was delicious, but would be better if warmed or at least given the option. 4/5. It would be 5/5 if there was an option to warm baked goods.“

My mom who visits from out of state has bought a tote bag, hat, and sweatshirt from Redfield just so she can flex to her friends back home how awesome this bar is. The coffee is strong and they also serve beer and wine. “This was the BEST food I've had in years. I sat there and literally closed my eyes so I could savor the experience and feel ever morsel move through my body. We had the Richmond Roll and the Pink Lady. The vegetarian options are so delicious that I am going to go back over and over again just to try everything on the menu. I literally stopped my conversation because I was having such a spiritual experience with the food. I could not focus on anything other than enjoying it. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and kind. The presentation of the dishes is immaculate. I felt like I was getting a Michelin star quality meal.

“This restaurant is out of the fray of crazy Berkeley traffic, in a quaint brick building off the beaten track. Parking was easy and we walked into a warm atmosphere with high ceilings, long tables with comfortable chairs and professional service. “Yesterday I had the pleasure of walking into this family owned establishment, The environment was clean, and the people were very kind. The menu was exceptional with great prices. I got the chicken Marcella, the naan, and the salmon which was the daily special. The chicken Masala was perfectly spiced. I got the mild because I can't eat spicy food. I dipped the naan in it and it tasted perfect. The naan was big and fresh and its own separate bag, so I was able to take it home and munch on it later now the salmon was delicious. It was super crispy and juicy on the inside, and the seasoning was complementary to the fish. it was wonderful to be able to talk to the Chef and get to know the people that cooked my food. The chef that's been working there. He's on the establishment for a while and he's been cooking for over 40 years. He also told me that he is from New York, which definitely shows in his food because this Indian Pakistani restaurant is definitely authentic. I will drive an hour and a half to come back here again. Definitely would recommend them for Catering or a nice dinner date.“

(Fish and chips, salad, 2 chowders, some raw and some grilled oysters. In retrospect the move might have been to order some more fries for the calories.) Came here with partner & parents and sat outside. One issue was that the music was way too loud to be able to have a conversation without yelling. After waiting a while for raw oysters checked in with waitstaff and found they’d misdelivered the order to a different table. (It was a super busy night.) I wasn’t a huge fan of the salad; it was small but pricy and could’ve used some citrus to brighten it up. Fish and chips were delicious.“

“An excellent restaurant. As a South Indian, thayir sadam is a comfort dish you grow up eating, but rarely get outside the house. For a very affordable $10, I got a sizable portion of thayir sadam that took me back to my childhood days. I got thayir sadam (yogurt + rice) with paneer, pickle, cucumbers, carrots, and spiced peanuts, and it was INCREDIBLY refreshing and tasty. I spoke with the owner as well, and he is a very nice gentleman. Highly recommend this restaurant for those who love thayir sadam, and those who have yet to try this South Indian staple!“

“So delicious and definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant in the East Bay--we've been twice in three weeks. We got the cilantro beef both times, and rotated other dishes. Everything has been really good and very fresh. When we went last weekend the staff (I assume the family owners?) were sitting at a table folding dumplings and chatting. It was nice to see the handmade assemy process and it seemed like a labor of love.
It's been pretty quiet when we've been in at lunchtime on the weekends. Go try it!“

It had just opened when I went, the flow in the kitchen was a work in progress with having to do so many pour overs at once. I would have just gotten a drip coffee or americano if they had that option.

Seating is minimal and the decor was also a work in progress with minimal seating.

A much needed addition to the neighborhood and tremendous potential with the talent that the owner has. I look forward to seeing it grow and improve.“

We had no problems finding a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of amazing outside seating looking at the lake. Side note my friend comes here occasionally and fishes on the straight. He took me here today and we almost caught a Sturgeon together.“

And their sushi/croffle/crepe offerings for ice cream.
