“A great place. The chef and his wife are from the old school of Japanese preparation. You can feel the quality time the chef has put into your meal. When in the area, I tend to eat here!!! It reminds me of the time I lived in Tokyo my first home.“

“I have known the owners for decades. They had two amazing restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area where I was a regular customer. Over the years that followed it was more. We became lifelong friends. I have never had a morsel of food prepared by them that was anything less than excellent and flavorful. I couldn’t wait to get to the opening of the new space there in Elk Grove. It meant a long drive down from Oregon for me now. But it was completely worth the trip. All the best to you as a Family! James, Jennifer & Adrian I couldn’t be more excited for you or proud. My meal was perfect. It was so hard to choose what to have. I need to come back down again soon so I can have even more options. Today it was the Teriyaki combo, Spicy Tuna roll, edamame and miso. Fabulous! As always. Next time I think I need to try the Eel bowl, Negi Hamachi roll and Rainbow roll.“

“For some reason it won’t let me NOT RECOMMEND! Very bad customer service, they charged almost $70 for tips and didn’t even say “Thank you”. We had to literally yell for service, the table next to us was serviced by a girl and she did took care of her table, I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here, first and last time. We spent almost $500, and not worth it, not coming back“

“Hidden Gem
We stumbled upon this place after casually scanning the Pocket, Land Park, Greenhaven newspaper and decided to try it for lunch. This quaint establishment sits tucked away in a strip mall. I’ve visited this shopping center many times but never stopped in before.
When we walked in, the waitress greeted us warmly and attentively. She invited us to choose any seat we liked, brought menus right away, and explained everything clearly.
I ordered the chimichurri steak, and my son ordered the sesame chicken. Both dishes came with miso soup, salad, and white rice. The kitchen prepared everything fresh, and the food arrived quickly. The sesame chicken tasted light and fluffy with an amazing sauce, and the steak was cooked to perfection. The waitress brought the house chimichurri sauce along with an additional sauce she made herself. I preferred her sauce, while my son preferred the house version.
We eat sushi often, and this spot will definitely be in our rotation. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a visit!“

“Lol. Gotta laugh at some of the reviews people leave who don’t really know sushi. Love this place. Sushi is some of the freshest around. LOVE the spicy tuna and kama shou. Service was awesome. Both our habachi chef and server were fantastic. Finally took my husband and son and this is now their favorite Japanese restaurant.“

“My husband and I had the most enjoyable evening last night at dinner after an event at the Elk Grove Civic Center. Mikuni was the perfect choice. We frequent the one in Folsom but this was very conveniently located. From the start, the atmosphere (calming), the staff and decor caught our attention. Our server, Justin, couldn't have been more perfect - recommended the Yuzu Margarita and I agree with him, it's lovely (had 2). It was a joy being served by Justin - very congenial and attentive. The food goes without saying, always fresh, absolutely delicious. We will be back to this location! Highly recommend!“

“The food and service were amazing! I came with a party of 4 where one of us is allergic to shrimp, and we mentioned the allergy to our waitress. There was another party sharing our same grill, so the chefs cooked their shrimp at the near by grill to avoid any cross-contamination.
5 star service!“

“For one, it was open. Secondly, they did their best to seat us since it was late. Though the best part was that the food was good. I do have to add that some of the pricing was high, although the taste basically made up for it. But, the biggest downfall was that the portions were small.“
