The dilemma when traveling to Encinitas, CA and dining at the Cottage.
Their breakfast selection is complete no need to go elsewhere.
To “Machaca Birria” or to “Braised Beef Hash” both are equally delicious.
But the real reason I’m here is really for their freshly baked scones and their to die for raspberry jam.
Whatever you order at this little hidden gem inside Encinita Village shopping center, you can’t go wrong.
Make sure you ask for Abraham, he will take good care of you and all your guest.

“Amazing food!!! We got a few things on the menu today. We got the firebird , cali dip , kids meal chicken nuggets . Let’s start with the firebird .. amazing sweet and spicy taste with big nice pickles to maintain the heat overall recommend this sandwich . The Cali Dip was delicious sweet and so much flavor I’d have to say one of the best “Tortas” I ever ate . The fries are the best !!! Sauces are so yummy. Everything was about $47 but SO WORTH IT!“

“Been coming here for years. As a local born and raised in Encinitas, there is no better restaurant for drinks and great food that has withstood the times. As for the service from the staff it has always been exceptional. Most recently Saul has always taken care of me with recommendations on drinks and food. “Pros: Food is delicious, the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere very nice. Great place to watch people, dogs, and cars. Cons: At busy times while you wait for a table, there isn't anywhere to sit, and once you're seated the food can take a LONG time (up to an hour) to arrive.“

“We have liked Honey Baked Hams for many years and usually will have one or two of them each year. This year we bought a small one for our Christmas dinner. It was small because we are keeping our distance during the pandemic.To get a ham, you will need to order it ahead of time. To pick it up, the order will stay when it will be available. we arrived at this place about 2:00 PM on Tuesday and the line to get in the store showed there were about six people in line. The store is small, and there are other things like deserts available, so the browsing of the people tends to make the line slower than it might be at a less busy time.Our wait to get took about twenty-minutes to go from waiting in line to placing the ham in the trunk. Tomorrow, we'll have the ham and it would surprise me if it wasn't just as perfect as we are expecting.This is small, but nice store. The people are helpful and pleasant.“

“I would give 10 stars on all of it if I could! We were visiting the beach and needed a brunch pick me up and this place was recommended . Food was amazing and the staff was just lovely. The salsa was to die for and they gave me a big containers to have chips and salsa on the beach! Can't wait to come back this will be a regular stop for us. Note: they are cash only but also venmo!“
