“The Baseline: For a seafood fast casual restaurant the fish/seafood needs to be fresh, the presentation of the food should be comforting and respect the delicacy of the seafood, and there must be a selection of accompanying offerings.

Food: The lobster is high quality here and the preparation is excellent. The Lobster Roll sampler is really good to try the different preparations. The full lobster roll is meaty and filling. The chips are nice but wish I had fries. The soda selection is awesome (got a Maine Blueberry soda). The price is what you get when you order the lobster.

Service: Counter order deliver to your table service. Good and efficient.

Ambiance: The restaurant is really well presented and has good decor. The bathroom was clean. The seating was well laid out and the lighting was good in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the outside is Santa Monica 2025 and is sketchy at night (not the restaurant’s fault)“

“I dropped anchor here for a weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The weather was shore perfect, and sitting out on the patio overlooking the ocean made the whole experience smooth sailing. A few of my old “go-to” spots have sadly perished, so I’d never actually tried Gladstones before.
I went with the Baja fish tacos (grilled, not fried) and they definitely didn’t flounder — solid, tasty choice. I hand out 4 stars when I’m really happy and save 5 stars for when I’m totally blown out of the water, so don’t take the 4 as a ding.
The wait staff was friendly and helpful, though they seemed a little underwater at times — no fault of theirs, just felt like they could’ve used one or two more hands on deck.
All in all, a great catch, and I’ll definitely be casting my net here again.“

“Dynamite fried fish at this little spot, located in a strip mall in Sylmar. I ordered red snapper and catfish, and both items were delicious--well-seasoned, perfectly cooked and served up piping hot. I particularly enjoyed the catfish. Outstanding flavor, very fresh tasting! “Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had!!! My family and I usually order the shrimp cocktail, raw shrimp ceviche, fish tacos, empanadas, aguachile negro.. But you really can’t go wrong with ordering here. Everything will be delicious. They’re fast, quality of seafood is excellent, and they’re not greedy with tostadas or crackers for to go orders. Also not greedy with the amount of shrimp your cocktail will have unlike some places that give you three shrimps at best lol. One time we accidentally got charged twice for a pickup order and they refunded us super quick and were apologetic over the honest mistake. I can’t recommend this seafood truck enough!!!“

“I absolutely love this place. Every time I’ve brought my dog Harry Potter (which is every visit!), we’ve both been treated with such warmth and care. One of his favourite meals is the salmon and rice dish, and when we walked in today he got so excited because he knew exactly what was coming!

The management truly go above and beyond. They remember both my name and my dog’s name every time we visit, and they’re always incredibly kind and generous — on our last visit, it was a bit chilly and the manager even lent me his jacket.
