“I stopped by Surf Brothers and ordered the 3‑piece Chicken Slider Plate, and wow… this meal hit every note I was hoping for. The sliders come on warm Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, and the combo of the soft, slightly sweet bread with their perfectly seasoned chicken is honestly addictive. Each slider had that fresh‑off-the-grill flavor — juicy, tender, and packed with that Surf Brothers signature taste.
The plate comes with white rice and a side salad, and both were spot‑on. The rice was fluffy and not overcooked, and the salad added a fresh, crunchy balance to the meal. It’s the kind of plate that leaves you full but not weighed down, and the portions are generous for the price.
If you’re craving something comforting, flavorful, and super satisfying, these chicken sliders are a must. Surf Brothers never misses, and this plate just became one of my new favorites.”

One of my favorites tacos is the shrimp poblano, and the mushrooms al ajillo is a must. The place is small, and may take a little time to come out when they are busy, but worth the wait. It’s one of my favorite spots for lunch, and glad it’s so close to me. I’ve been telling everyone about it!”

“I recently had a fundraising event and Sunny Side was such a great choice for catering. After I sent an email, I got a call back and we walked through the order and right sized it. The guests really enjoyed an artichoke quiche, strawberry chicken salad and three types of mini cookies. Everyone raved about the food. It was all packaged up to be easy to serve. I would highly recommend working with Sunny Side on your next catering need!”

I had their Italian omelette and if I had to rate it on a one to 10 scale with 10 being the best, I would give it a 12. This is the Vista location. Highly recommend this place for breakfast and lunch, as they are not open for dinner.”

“I am a bit disappointed with recent winery messaging/policy. These changes seem to make the winery setting more exclusive and less welcoming to families. I have NEVER been dissatisfied with the wine. Just a little disappointed in the pull away from families and inclusion.
New review: I am the biggest fan of this winery. I have recommended this winery to literally all of my friends and family. I have never enjoyed a winery more than Domaine. I love most Domaine wines, which is very telling for a self-proclaimed wine snob. At most wineries I Iike two or three wines. At Domaine there is no wine I do not like. I especially like their Rincon del Diablo and Syrah. In addition to their scrumptious wine, the staff here have never waivered in their kindness and accomodations.
The missing star and slightly critical review is hopefully part of larger growing pains. My kids used to come here and feel so welcomed. They could stretch their legs and roam a bit (supervised). We could search for tadpoles or ask staff for the owl puppet or drive the tonka trucks through the olive orchard. It was a pretty special place for our teacher friend group to relax and have their kids enjoy outside at the same time. Seeing the new signage up discouraging supervised child autonomy is beyond disappointing. I enjoyed this winery as it always felt like family. It felt like home. It was uncomplicated and comfortable. Their dogs roam free and my kids, behaving with respect, were also permitted to do the same. Closing out areas to kids is beyond regrettable and makes me less inclined to continue membership (even given my 10 plus years of membership and their delicious wine). Unfortunately I am going to consider if it's worth it to be a member of a place that is seemingly inhospitable to half of my family. I wonder if they will make a separate section for families / dogs or if they will continue to slide towards exclusionary spaces.”

“I was wanting to find a place to eat as we were passing by Escondido on the way home, and H Brothers looked interesting. O wanted something local and comfortable and I’m so glad we stopped in. The two servers we met were both professional and very friendly. The menu is full of “comfort foods” but with twists to make them more modern and interesting. The food was delicious and served piping hot like I like it, and our servings were really large. The whole experience was great and I look forward to our next visit.”

Wow. I honestly walked in expecting a good Indian restaurant… but what I found was something completely different. This place isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a full-blown lounge with style.
First thing you notice is the vibe. Beautiful Tiffany-colored interior, elegant lighting, and a stunning marble bar that looks like it belongs in some high-end lounge in London or Dubai. Very classy, very comfortable, very cool.
But wait… it gets better.
POOL TABLES!
And not just decoration — actual playable tables. $1 a game! I nearly fell off my chair. I haven’t played in ages. When I was younger I used to be pretty serious about pool, so naturally I had to grab a cue and see if I still had the magic. Let’s just say… the spirit is still there, even if the aim needs a little polishing.
They even run pool tournaments on Saturdays, which is amazing. So now suddenly dinner can turn into a little friendly competition. I’m already planning my comeback tour.
Now about the food — absolutely authentic and delicious. Real Indian flavors, beautifully presented, rich spices, and clearly prepared with care. Everything we tried was excellent and I’m already planning my next visit because I have to try the lamb. I’ve heard it’s fantastic.
A special thank-you to Sky, the lady boss of this place. She is super friendly, incredibly polite, and very professional. You can immediately tell she knows the cuisine inside and out. She explained dishes, made recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Hospitality like that makes a huge difference.

Totally unexpected but it was one of the better sub sandwiches I had in a while. What was really good was the Italian dressing, that really made the sandwich and I would totally buy that if they sold it separately. Nice employees throughout the store and great food! Would definitely come back again and would love to try to the other sandwiches.”

We have watched several sets of family member take over operating this family business, and have loved ever member prior. However, Nick is an unfortunate one. With a gift card receipt stating Nick's name, he denies selling a gift card to anyone but one person. Nick has unfortunately ruined our favorite family restaurant. If the real owner ever reads this, I hope we can work something out. My recommendation, eat somewhere else. Its not worth the gruff service and the potential to get screwed. :/”

I love all their lemonade versions - tastes like actual lemonade to me, and they use cool fruits in their kombucha like dragonfruit! If you like it, they sell bottles, and can also bottle one for you then snd there. They usually have live music Friday and Saturday and events throughout the week. The vibe is definitely worth coming in and having a drink.”

“I have loved coming here for my morning coffee before work, as I live nearby. The line is never too long, the drinks are tasty and the vibe is always calm. There have been a few disappointments along the way during the last few months. Usually no big deal, like forgetting to provide a pastry or once loosing my order all together (until I asked after waiting 15 min).
More frequently, I notice the ordering experience can feel impersonal. Staff often don’t repeat the order or say the total, which has left me unsure a couple of times about when to pay. Even a brief confirmation or a “thank you” would go a long way toward making the experience feel more welcoming.
The main reason I’m writing this review, though, is a more serious concern about the cleanliness behind the counter. Earlier this week I came in really excited to order a matcha drink—I had actually been looking forward to it before I even walked in. But when I got to the counter and saw the matcha setup just behind the cashier, it looked pretty messy and it honestly turned me off from ordering it. I even briefly considered walking out.
I then looked over toward the espresso station hoping it might look cleaner, but there were coffee grounds scattered around and equipment just sitting out on the counter. It didn’t give the impression of a clean workspace, which was surprising and very disappointing. I still ended up ordering a latte and a pastry (I do really appreciate their pastry selection… it’s usually really good), but the overall impression stuck with me.
I’m sharing this as constructive feedback because I want small businesses in my neighborhood to thrive, and I do hope to come back. I’ve been frequenting this shop on and off for the last several months since they opened, so I wanted to give an honest reflection of what I’ve observed. Cleanliness behind the counter and a more welcoming ordering experience would make a big difference.”

“A Hidden Gem Near Welk Resort – Don’t Let the Renovations Fool You!
While staying at the Welk Resort—which isn’t exactly known for its dining options—my husband and I ventured just a couple miles down the road to Oaks Bar and Grill, and we’re so glad we did.
The first thing you’ll notice is the fluttering BBQ signs that help you spot the place easily. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, and admittedly, the interior atmosphere might not immediately draw you in—but trust me, persevere. The food more than makes up for it.
For dinner on Mother's Day, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries and, on a fellow patron’s recommendation, the potato salad. I’m usually not a “double potato” person, but I’m so glad I listened. The pork was perfectly tender, lightly sauced so the flavor of the meat shone through, and incredibly satisfying.
My husband went for the Korean BBQ options on the menu and ordered the bulgogi plate with fried rice and kimchi. We were both blown away by the taste and quality—so much so that we decided to return the next day. The kimchi was so good.
On our second visit (for breakfast around 10:00am!), the chef—who seemed to be a Korean mama and clearly knows what she's doing—recommended the spicy Korean pork. We both ordered it, and it was nothing short of phenomenal.
We also ordered take-out bulgogi and kimchi to take home for dinner! It was nicely packed up and excellent reheated.
There’s also a full bar onsite, and during the day, the space seems to serve as part of the golf course pro shop. While the setting may still be in transition, the food here is next-level and truly makes Oaks Bar & Grill a hidden gem in the area. We’ll absolutely be back!”
