“This is a winery with great views and even better wines. I don't know of any other local wineries that have Super Tuscans; yet, I found two super fantastic ones at Il Gioiello/Morse Wines.I recently had the opportunity to attend a small private event at this winery and love the ambiance, the staff, and the fellow knowledgeable wine lovers who also consider Il Gioiello / Morse Wines to be their favorite go-to winery. I highly recommend taking the road less traveled (Fiddletown Road to Tyler to Lawrence) where you can still bring a picnic and enjoy some FABULOUS wines!!“
“What an establishment. one could not go wrong stopping here. The food was to die for, the wines were DELISH. There is a wine for everybody even the non drinkers have coffee and different refreshments. VIEW IS SPECTACULAR… nestled in the hills of Amador county. Lanelle was our host and was EXTREMELY versed in all product knowledge and went the extra mile to ensure the experience was a blast. The whole staff made the LA Mesa Vineyard experience spectacular.“
“Lovely wine great staff awesome burgers“
“Great music great food and a lot of fun“
“We had a great visit to this winery. It's situated right off the road and the first thing you see was the dog sculpture.
Our host Mack did an incredible job with our wine tasting for our large group. We were seated outside and he led us through the tasting with funny stories and even brought out other wines for us to try. We learned a lot about the winery and the history of winemaking in Plymouth.
We even tried the wine slushy, which was delicious.
The charcuterie plate that accompanied our wine tasting was delicious and beautifully presented too.
There was only a small bar inside for seating so we were seated outdoors. I wish there were some shade or heat lamps. The big building was closed the day of our visit. There were lots of benches and seating outside but they were unprotected from the sun and wind so we were a bit cold.“
“My favorite winery in the area by a long shot. I love their wines, but the real key here is the people and place. The moment you walk through the door there is a different vibe. This is not a pretentious winery. It is one that you bring large groups to and let everyone enjoy themselves. Every wine tender you may get is easy going and fun to chat with.
The grounds are beautiful and it's easy to get an area to setup with a bottle and hangout outside. I have brought more people to this winery than literally any other and will continue to do so. Could not recommend enough.“
“Went with my wife, bother, and sister in law a few weeks back to the sutter creek tasting room and we had an amazing time. Franlin and Bri were amazing and they were very knowledgeable about the wines. Definitely recommend Scott Harvey Wines to anyone and visit sutter creek for a special curated tasting experience hosted by Franklin and his amazing team!!“
“We stopped here after lunch in downtown Sutter Creek. Such a comfortable atmosphere with many rooms and seating. The winemaker Aaron let us taste several of his wines. He uses a scientific approach to his winemaking. My favorite was the 2022 Touriga, which is bold and has a long finish. Could be laid down for a while longer. I suggest decanting these wines too.“
“Beautiful Vinyard 😍 Dewey is the best, he allowed me to go on the private land to see the most beautiful Sunset I've ever seen.“
“This is a winery with tastings for its own wines. They are great and very reasonable. If you belong to their wine club there are usually quarterly wine club pick ups with food, tastings, and music.“
“Always fun, always great wine and great food and great staff.“
“The vibe here is laid-back, welcoming, and just what you want from a wine country escape. The wines are seriously delicious—smooth, bold, and super well-crafted. You can tell they pour a lot of passion into what they do. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the car-themed setting is perfect for relaxing with friends or just enjoying the views with a great glass of wine in hand.
If you're into great wine, good people, and an atmosphere that feels like a hidden treasure, Driven Cellars is the spot. Already planning my next visit!“
“Definitely 5 stars ⭐️
Love the service and atmosphere here
David and George are amazing
Wine is imported from Georgia and has a unique taste
Mukuzani is my favorite one
Recommend it for all my friends ❤️“
“Knowing how to say their name right was the hard part. Drinking their awesome wine was the easy part. Excellent blending technique here IMHO. Really nice couple of owners too, talking wines with us, precisely why Amador is best place for winery hopping.“
“Great reds and wonderful owners!“
“Beautiful location and delicious wines.“
““The Joy of Wine” is quite fitting.” Our intro to good wine began with a 40th anniversary trip to Amador wine country and Napa Valley.
We visited Rombauer in the Sierra Foothills in May 2024 and absorbed the beauty and serenity while sipping a couple of wines at the walk-up window. The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. The Chardonnay was exceptional.
Since then, we learned that Rombauer is Certified California Sustainable, NAPA Green, and Fish Friendly. After another trip in August to NOTL, we upgraded to purchase only those wines that are exclusively Sustainable, Organic, or Biodynamic.
This summer we were delighted to find Rombauer Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc at our local supermarket and Total Wine store. The Chardonnay is oak aged, buttery and delightful. The Sauvignon Blanc is fruity, sweet, and refreshing.
The Rombauer Merlot and Zinfandel are also carried by our local Total Wine and are on our shopping list. We look forward to enjoying them as well. We may need to join the wine club soon!
Cheers to Rombauer!“
“Great wine and terrific small bite pairings…“
“Having explored most of the wineries in the Shenandoah Valley I highly recommend this one. Their wines are wonderful, grown on their own land, and the servers are very knowledgeable. I would only hope that they could be open more hours so others can enjoy.“
“Beautiful grounds! Great host and hospitality! A must see!“
“Great wine and great winery“
“I love this winery. First time there was in 1995. A great example of the Sierra Foothills wine country. Peaceful, scenic, a bit rustic and the wines are very good. The Midnight red blend and Chardonnay are my favorites. Will be back there next weekend!“
“Best wine tasting experience we have had in a very long time! We were greeted by two friendly beautiful family dogs. We met Marcos the owner's son and had a very wonderful conversation. The we went to the tasting room and we were treated with a very warm friendly smile from the daughter. She did an excellent job of explaining the different flight options. We sat down and began are tasting experience. The flight's were amazing between the whites and the reds, best varieties and flavors within the flight. The daughter timed it perfect and we never had to wait for our next tasting. She did an excellent job explaining the different wines and where they came from. In between pours provided great conversation and warm smiles. We then went over to the gazebo overlooking the area and enjoyed the best fire cooked pizza! The owner came over and talked to us and introduced us to his lovely wife. We enjoyed a great conversation. The owner share his hear and vision for the winery. He asked if we were taken care of and needed anything. Over all it was such a pleasant experience at a value you can't find anywhere else. The pricing options were excellent and the varieties we're out of this world! Let's just say there is a little piece of Italy in Somerset! Perfect ambiance and beautiful hosts! We definitely will be coming back and if you need to get away from it all and get a great value for your money..THIS IS THE GO TO! Thank you Mastroserio Winery, two thumbs up and 10 stars! We will see you again soon!“
“This new place is awesome. The staff is great. Great wines too. They do have food but didn’t try as I was not hungry then. But the food looks good too. I recommend this place to anyone. And they have a great hang out area and view outside.“
“A few years ago I visited Rob’s quaint tasking room in downtown Amador City and fell in love with his wines. Rob’s passion for his wines shines through in each and every bottle. They are all delicious. So I went back a few weeks ago and picked up two cases with a mix of Rose, Cab, S&M, Chardonnay , and Sauvignon Blanc for my mom’s 70th bday party in the Bay Area. The wines where a hit. Thank you Rob for helping us select the best wines to go with our menu options. Hope to see you again soon.“
“Greatest Halloween party ever“
“Cannot say enough about this place. They have great Tempranillo, but also my fav, sweet wines and port. What really sets them apart is that they grow their own grapes.. Few Amador wineries actually do. A definite must see if you're in Sutter Creek“
“Me and another car pulled over after seeing two dogs on highway 49 their owners found us and the dogs on highway 49 and then said thank you and asked us if we wanted a bottle of wine. I followed then to their vineyard and got a free bottle of wine i appreciate the kind gesture i didn't catch the couples names but after a long work day this bottle of wine will be perfect“
“MFV wines are incredible. I love the Barbera and The Cab. Their new Chardonnay is absolutely lovely and unlike any other California Chard I have had. I am happy to have signed up when I did for the wine club. I’m looking forward to the new tasting space they are opening on site. It will be gorgeous with a ton of space for events and guests.“
“We measure all other wines by the wines at Cooper. We love the Barbera, the Primitivo, the Grenache and the Grand Viognier.“
“Great hospitality and signature Zinfandel wines! Great views, wonderful landscape and owners that care about your experience.“
“Come up to the FairPlay Wine AVA region! Stay at Shari’s BNB Bed and Berries! www.bedandberries.com from the founder of Shari’s Berries.“
“We were recommended this tasting room by a friend at TDO, which is closing. Tom the wine maker was in the tasting room. Him and his were very cordial. Nice tasting room and even a tent outside. We arrived 30 mins before they closed, but said it was no problem. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back in October and probably join their club.“
“Love their wine, the Petite Sirah and Viognier are my absolute favorite! The vibes are amazing and the owners are super friendly and inviting. They also have beautiful pearl jewelry! Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great experience!“
“It was great I was helped by the third generation son who is very knowledgeable about his products and what paired with what was very helpful actually probably a little too helpful I've got one wine now to taste with just about anything I'd want to eat which is okay. It's expanding my knowledge about good food and drink definitely worth the stop Shenandoah Vineyards part of the sabon family.“
“We have been TKC club members about ten years. We have upgraded our membership more than once, and their club prices are so good we still order a LOT more wine than comes with our membership. I adore Amador wineries and TKC is the first one I go to.“
“Beautiful winery, personable and welcoming owners, and AMAZING bubbles and wine! With COVID, they have made some wonderful additions to their tasting area. Pre-covid, the tasting area was in their cool cave. Lovely place! If you have a chance to visit, do it!“
“This was recommended for us to visit and I’m so glad!! Great vibe, great people and good wine!“
“We had my son and new daughter in law's wedding rehersal dinner here and it was wonderful. Alex and Josy made it a night to remember with their delicious dinner to the wonderful desserts. We couldn't ask for a better place to celebrate. Thank you for making it so special for us. I very much recommend having your next event here. You will not regret it.“
“A Captivating Wine Experience in the Heart of Sutter Creek
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Avio Winery during a trip to Sutter Creek, California, and I must say it was an enchanting experience from start to finish. Nestled in the beautiful Sierra Foothills, Avio Winery offers a delightful combination of scenic beauty, warm hospitality, and exceptional wines that make it a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts. Their rose is to die for.
Avio Winery in Sutter Creek, California, is a hidden gem that should not be missed by wine enthusiasts or anyone looking for an unforgettable wine experience. From the stunning surroundings and warm hospitality to the exceptional wines, every aspect of the visit was impeccable. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Avio Winery and indulging in their delightful wines. It's an experience that will leave you with lasting memories and a newfound appreciation for the art of Italian winemaking.“
“We just checked out their new location/tasting room for their grand opening and it was a hit! Love the covered patio and tons of seating out on the ground too. Excellent idea to combine with Amador flower farm!
Of course, we come for the wine and their Sparkling wines and Ports are some of the best! The peach mango sparkling wine was delicious!! A++“
“We make an annual visit to Amador County for a refresh of our CA wines and had never been to Andis. We both loved the setting, the wines and the staff. The wines are true to style, not sweet and all very good. Left with a case and they will now be part of our regular rotation of favorite wineries during our visit. We wish we would had tried them on previous visits but better late than never. Make sure to visit Andis, you won't be disappointed.“
“First time there today and we were met by the owner. Great wines and she described all her wines and shared her story. It was so personal and NOT corporate sounding... We bought a glass to enjoy with our lunch and it was very difficult choosing which one we wanted!!! A must visit for sure!!!“
“You can get lost exploring the different wines they produce and it would be well worth it.“
