“We enjoyed perfectly prepared poki bowls. Delicious taste and very fresh. Our grandson liked his white rice with salmon and tuna; the octopus was a bit too chewy for him. My husband had brown rice with spicy salmon, tuna with avocado, and plain salmon. He and grandson like the spicy mayonnaise dressing, snd crunchy toppings. They both liked the cold tropical flavored drink, too. I found my spicy salmon and tuna and shrimp delicious, all atop fresh salad greens with wasabi and ginger. On a very hot day we were grateful for the delicious fresh food, the very clean tables and chairs, and the prompt service.“
“I had no idea this restaurant existed. If I did, I would've come here at least twice a week. This is easily one of the best Mexican places I've been to in a while. So homey, clean and welcoming. It's in a strip mall, so parking is plentiful and easy. It's the restaurant beside the laundromat. This place specializes in birria. So we got their birria pizza and nachos with birria meat. You order everything either from a cashier at the counter or through a kiosk nearby. It's very high tech. The nachos came out within 5 minutes. It tasted fresh and home-made. My son and husband just attacked it with gusto and barely left me any. The tortilla chips were light and didn't taste greasy. The birria meat was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. This was the best dish of nachos I've ever had. That's saying something! The birria pizza was so flavorful...it isn't made with pizza dough but with crunchy tortillas that were generously packed with the meat and cheese. I was surprised by the structural integrity - it didn't fall apart even after I dipped it into their consommé (which tasted like a liquid dream) multiple times. I couldn't stop eating because I enjoyed the mouthfeel so much. The owner, Francisco, was kind enough to allow us to sample their churros which were made in-house. They were the most righteous proportions of crunchy and soft. And dipped into their dulce de leche (which is not cloyingly sweet but surprisingly balanced and complemented the churros so well) - we knew we were addicted. All in all, this was such a serendipitous find. We're so lucky we stumbled upon this gem. This must not be gatekept! Go to Fuego Cravings and thank me later!“
“Had the Salmon with Green Curry and the Shrimp Garlic Noodle. Honestly some of the best seafood in the area!! Amazing staff, incredibly friendly and welcoming!! If you’re in the mood for some good fish/seafood options, check them out!! 5/5“
“This is a hole in the wall. The sauces this places produces is pack with flavor. These bold flavors come in different variations of heat mild is ok the hot one is spicy but enjoyable and extra hot you better be ready to guzzle water. You can taste the difference in the spices the owner Nam uses he takes pride in his work and the taste is there. No wait unlike the big name places, but their food speaks volumes. This place holds true to great food from a family business. This place has won this foodie over. Hidden Gem in Covina there are a few of these places and this is one of them. Glad to have stumbled upon it. Glad I didn't listen to the 1 bad review.“
“We had a great time here! It felt like you were transported to the mountains of China. The food was artfully presented, and it was fun to have something different in a sea of Chinese restaurants. Our group wasn’t into the super spicy, so we didn’t try the ma-la stuff. The service was not super proactive but we were served quickly when we did ask for anything. All in all a great experience. Follow @teamibrahimre for more reviews & local highlights!Kid-friendliness: My kids loved the koi pond and the rocks ?There were enough non-spicy foods that my kids could enjoy.“
“If this location of Mariscos Jalisco existed while I was in college going to Cal Poly Pomona, I would've came here so often because I love their food so much.I just happened to be in the area and remembered seeing on IG that Mariscos Jalisco has a location in Pomona. I've been to their original Boyle Heights food truck location so many times, and I think it's great they expanded and have more one location. The food is good and consistent with their original location. This location takes credit card so that's a plus.“
“Akasaka is amazing bang for buck if you like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), it’s perfectly broiled - crispy on the outside and tender and fatty on the inside. Their chirashi bowl is huge with 6 cuts per fish and can serve 2. The fish is good quality and fresh and the tempura bits in the rice adds another layer of texture. I always come here when I’m craving lots of hamachi for a good price“
“The workers are all so kind! Especially the woman with the bob. She was very beautiful on the inside and out. You can tell she wanted you to just have a good time eating there. My friends and I came and she was so sweet to all of us. Thank you for being sweet to us and letting us have a good time. :)“
“Food is salty and flavorful. This is a good thing. I highly recommend the beef sashimi and lamb skewers. Beef sashimi kept warm very well. One thing to note is that you have to "send" in your order using your phone. Im a oldie and this is annoying. My friend ordered for us. The English menu is not entirely translated correctly. It takes quite a bit of time to get your order. So keep ordering Their flavored soju cocktail is too sweet, barely any soju. They have 2 beers on tap...coors light and a japanese one (i think). I was a little eerrked with the "server" bc she made it sound like ordering 12 lamb skewers between 2 ppl was alot. So we reduced to 10 skewers. We ordered like 20 more skewers after Pls we're pigs lol The setup inside is not ideal but whatever. The deco is totally weird and im wondering what the concept is. There was karaoke that started when we were about to leave... so glad we were leaving. Hehe“
“I've been a customer for many years, and it is always a great place to take the family out for some delicious shrimp. The later you arrive, the longer the wait time, anywhere from 90 minutes to 180 minutes only on the weekends. Besides that it's a great family restaurant.“
“Visited this establishment the other day. It is a small venue, but the people who work here make you feel welcome. I tried some empanadas (shrimp) were delicious! I had a campechana cocktail and a tostada de camarón. Both of these were also delicious. I loved the chips and salsa and I appreciated the fact that the food here is made fresh as soon as you order. The service here is great. The ladies who work here are courteous and very friendly. It was a good first impression and I would definitely come back to dine here.“
“Amazing! This place blows The Boiling Crab, Kickin' Crab, and Seafood & Crawfish out of the water. It feels more authentic Vietnamese-Cajun than the other establishments, and we love that. They're very attentive to you and your table and I love that the brought out the waters immediately! They offer gloves and apron. The dining room is large and seating families is no problem. The food is high quality and the prices are competitive. This place was a little empty on a Saturday night, but the food was absolutely incredible. Wishing them more business!“
“Thee best place for breaded fried fish and shrimp. They have daily specials with many different items to choose from. Not only seafood but steak, chicken, and burgers. Thursday dine in only,1 free kids meal w/purchase of 1 menu item over $13.95. Kids under 12. So many special combinations. Daily specials and take out family packs. Many items that I wanted to try, but i didn't know where to start. So I will be going back real soon. Oh prices are very, very reasonable. Trust me you won't be disappointed.Parking: Corner restaurant so u can get in or get out parking lot easily. Handicapp parking space is limited.“
“Great take out spot for sushi and Hawaiian bbq!Food is delicious! Fast no frills! Good portion size.Came here for lunch take out one day and ordered several items from the menu. The place is a small shop with a few table and really only for take out which is totally fine by me.It was super easy to order at the counter, and I didn't have to wait very long for the food to come out. Everything was cooked fresh. Everything tasted delicious and the portion sizes. Very good.Definitely be coming back again.“
“Delicious and Great service. Down to there well kept silverware and Dishes Thank you clean up crew in the Shadows.Kid-friendliness: Anything that lights up a spark on your food makes for a Cool Post.Wheelchair accessibility: Comes with clearance for both,E-scooters and Wheel chairs.“
“We walked in and sat down right away. There's plenty of space in their newly expanded eating area. Chips and roasted salsa came out right away. Salsa was warm and tasted really good. Not my first time here and services is always good. Did not wait long to place my order for my shrimp burrito, wet style. Filling and delicious. The cheese and sauce they pour over was great to scoop up with some extra chips.“
“I will never eat at another sushi place again, especially in this area ! Kisetsu is the real deal. The fish is EXTREMELY fresh and the best quality I have had in a number of years. The service is superb and the owner Joel and team bring a fun vibe while in a nice cozy setting. I can't say enough about how good the food is here and a bonus is the affordable price points ! My friend who doesn't historically eat sushi now eats sushi after eating here! We can't wait to come back very soon. Thank Joel and team for such a great experience !“
“It was my first time going, especially after seeing the reviews. The food was really good and pricing also. BUT my only complaint is that the girl employee was clearly on something. I was trying to enjoy my food but all I could notice was her erratic behavior, then her sister came in another strange character. I left feeling icky and the experience was not comfortable for customers seeing that sort of situation.“
“I'm judging this place based off of what I ve ordered here which has NOT been burgers, this spot is a keeper. The pastor tacos are on point....the lithe options are good, we just prefer the pastor. Good food, good service... go get it.“
“I came here on a whim. It looked like it had recently opened up not long ago. If you dine in, they offer free chips and homestyle salsa that is incredibly fresh. The inside ambiance is between an actual restaurant and fast food chain. The tacos and burritos were off the hook. Great quality meats. I had chili verde, asada and shrimp, and all 3 were above par. I also partook in their own style of michelada mix. Although i enjoyed it, i thought the price was a bit steep. If they brought down the price a bit for the michelada mix (as it's a separate charge) from ordering a beer. I would be downing a lot more of them. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The establishment was very clean inside and out. The waitress was attentive, the food was great, and i will definitely be coming back. One of the better mexican food joints in the immediate area.“
“I’m a fan. Lots of history here. This was also a filming location for the movie Bad Santa. The hotel IS haunted. But I don’t believe it is yet operational again. The Mayan is and it’s a really cool place. The staff is super friendly and engaging as well. Be sure to walk around and check out the pictures on the wall. Yes! They are from the 30s and 40s. Welcome to Old Route 66.“
“First time here. Good size portions for the ceviche tostadas. I asked what were the top selling and the cashier said pescado, camaron, and aguachiles.I ordered two of the three (camaron, and aguachiles) and they did not disappoint. They were loaded with ceviche and tasty. The tostada was solid, crunchy, and did not break apart if you wanted to lift it to eat.Check out the picture. They do have beer on the menu.“
“Uno de los mejores restaurantes de comida Mexicana que hemos visitado toda la comida muy rica y buen servicio por supuesto que vamos a regresar una y otra ves gracias Iván Esparza mil gracias por la comida tan buena que Tienen y el lugar súper limpio“
“Just a very nice and relaxing meal, with very much attention shown to diners during your meal. My wife and I go there with friends when we get the chance. It's always enjoyable. The food is excellent. I would recommend Tropical Mexico to anyone that I know. Because I'm certain they won't be disappointed with the meal or the service ever.“
“This is an interesting spot. It's in a mall where many of the signs don't even bother with English which is a good sign. You know you will probably get something authentic. I was passing through the area and came solo for lunch. The main dining area was filled with large round tables and was filled with customers. I was ushered to a small room with small tables for small parties like me. I asked what they were famous for and she directed me to the black cod. At $42 it was a bit pricey for lunch so I went for the three cup casserole with chicken.I'd say the food was good. Didn't blow my socks off but I would definitely come back. Service was great.“
“Tried the Two Fish Taco plate with rice and beans. The fish was really fresh and hot. The salsas were good. The red one is kinda hot and the green one is on the milder side. They also give you chips and salsa. The combo comes with a drink but if you want an agua fresca they charge another $1.25. I had the pineapple and it was really good. A great quality meal for a great price! I would love to try the ceviche next time.Parking: This restaurant is in a strip mall shopping complex so there is plenty of free parking.Wheelchair accessibility: There are handicap parking spots and ramps to get up on the curb. Inside is kind of small and may be a little hard to maneuver if it's during one of the busier times of the day like lunch and dinner.“
“The place have been on my tagged list to try and I finally dropped in for lunch with my aunt and stuffed ourselves silly with yummy food & fabulous drinks. HIGHLY recommend!FOOD: They have reasonable lunch specials available from which we ordered the chicken enchiladas & al pastor street taco. Both were great & very tasty. I also had a craving for chilaquiles so we ordered that off the regular menu and my cravings were very well satisfied. We forgot to order the highly recommended shrimp empanadas but that’s a perfect excuse for us to go back soon!DRINKS: I mean they are truly one of the highlights of our meal. The signature “La Sexy Michelada” was one of the best I’ve had. It literally had a whole half of a mango seasoned with chamoy & tajin balanced on a tamarind candy stick in a large glass mug liberally rimmed with chamoy & tajin. The michelada itself was perfectly made IMHO. My aunt ordered the Margarita Flight and she thought every single one was delicious & unique. Her personal fave was the cucumber margarita & mine was the mango margarita.“
“Queenie is the best! Came from the Bay Area heading to LA and gave this place a try. The shrimp roll is yum pho flavor vibes, and the lobster roll delicious! Also had the cucumber salad was amazing, including the sauce! Queenie was so sweet and made sure to check about my allergies! Overall, everything was great! Service to the food to the atmosphere! Will stop by next trip.Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options.“
“Had to update. Can't even update the STAR reviews if I could I would update them 2 stars I've been coming here since they opened, and at least 2x a week, love their food n service but the prices in last year have gone up by almost $5 each item. That's why I cut back n only go once a month if anything or less. I use to spend at least $60 a week there. Now prices have tripled and just not it anymore. Shouldn't take advantage of price hikes that everyone else is doing like rents, gas, food, etc. Smh“
“Went to Giovanni's to celebrate my wife's birthday. Decided to keep it local and came here for the 1st time. We really enjoyed the food and service here, the lobster ravioli was delicious, the clam linguine was good too! Our server was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. If your in downtown Covina this place is a gem. Definitely recommend Giovanni's for a nice dinner. Btw the cocktails were ??“
“Any neighborhood where I seem to keep on finding some gems, I would add this to the list. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but you walk in and it's a pretty large, nautical themed mariscos restaurant. The folks here were super friendly. I came in, got seated right away and was given some chips and salsa while looking over the menu. The salsa has a nice kick to it and was tasty. I don't think I've ever had it, so I ordered the aguachile verde. Super fresh shrimp and really fresh ingredients. The sauce was spicy. Prob right at my personal threshold. I really loved the citrusy acidity of the sauce, which was balanced by the earthiness of the red onion. Just a really delicious fresh dish. I thought the prices were reasonable especially for what I got. Definitely recommend this place and I would love to come back and try some of the other items on the menu.Parking was pretty easy for me especially at lunch on a weekday. I'm not sure how it is on the weekends.“
“Are you looking for a place to eat in Baldwin Park/ El Monte area ? Try this joint u don't regret. They have specials Mo-Fr from 6.99 to 11.99 . Today, asada plate , so delicious ... Also, carnitas , fried chicken, milanesa, and pork chops so good ... Complementary chips and salsa , very nice staff.“
“The customer service right off was awesome the entire experience, the AC was on and it was a beautiful sunny day. Very pleasant atmosphere, but most importantly, the food was AMAZING, we got the #2 $130. We tried And we couldn’t finish it! everything tasted fresh, the sauce is made fresh every day and I could tell, hands down the best! I didn’t get the older gentleman’s name, he was super helpful, Rachel and Lauren super courteous, over all super sweet girls! I rarely leave reviews, but this place Definitely deserves it!“
“(Translated by Google) Delicious everything of very good quality and excellent customer service the suchy and its seafood especially(Original)Delicioso todo de muy buena calidad y excelente atención al cliente el suchy y sus mariscos en especial“
“Located in the old prime spot of Bruxies, Fish taco is the place to celebrate Taco Tuesday. Fresh food, realistic portions and a full bar ensure a good time for all including the children. I am delighted with the sauces and the portion sizes. The flavors are modern American Cali-mex with a strong West coast style. The atmosphere is like a garage. The small touches make a difference - the paper thin layer of fried queso in the tortilla, the touch of butter in the pilaf.Vegetarian options: There are some tacos with no meat.Parking: I suggest instead of parking on the north parking lot directly in front of the business, parking in the south parking lot just South of Barnes and Noble for easier parking.“
“A small Mariscos/ seafood restaurant located in an unassuming strip mall on the border of La Puente/ City of Industry. I'm not sure if it's gonna change, but as of 9/23, this place is only open Fri - Sun. Kind a hard to spot from the outside or driving by but once you get in this place is a clean, cozy mom-and-pop style restaurant. The folks here are always friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and fresh and really, really reasonable in terms of pricing. I've been here three times now as I'm writing this and I think it's one of my new favorite spots. Since it is only open on Friday through the weekend, I only have been here for Friday lunches. The food: Dorados de camaron taco - my go to. Had at least one on all my visits. Perfectly fried, crisp on the outside, and a plump / good amount filling in the middle. It might rival another place that's famous in Los Angeles for fried shrimp tacos. And also, am I crazy to think that this reminds me of some shrimp Vietnamese egg rolls I've had? I just love this item so much. Ceviche tostada - super fresh with a clean flavor and generous amount of topping with avocado. Filete empanizado / pescado estilo Ensenada tacos - i'm a big fan of both these tacos as well. Just a big serving of perfectly fried fish with delicious toppings. Coctel de camaron - really reasonable pricing for a good amount of delicious fresh shrimp in a not too spicy cocktail sauce. Overall, I just really like this place. I like everything about it. It's one of those places where I feel like I'm the only non-native Spanish-speaking person that comes in which I feel like is a sign for a good time. Especially with the music.“
“Food here is always good with big portions and good prices. The aqua frescas are large with free refills. They have a large menu but not too big and tons of drinks options. They have tables to fit large parties and an upstairs area that could be used for a dinner party. They also have a bar behind the restaurant seating area and an entrance from the rear of the building.Parking: There are some spaces in the front and a larger parking lot behind the buildings.“
“It's a small restaurant so we were a bit skeptical but the food was good. It was a little bit different than usual Mexican. Fajita had a different flavor and texture than the Fajitas I had before but I still enjoyed it. Fish tacos were really good too.Don't get discouraged by the looks of the restaurant outside, try the food!“
“My husband and I are hooked on the cheese enchiladas at Mexico Lindo, so when it came to planning our wedding, we wanted to explore more dishes to offer at our event. We booked our tasting and confirmed our catering order the same day: chicken and cheese enchiladas, steak fajitas, shrimp de Diablo, Chile Verde, rice and beans, along with chips and salsa. Everything tasted phenomenal, and we got so many compliments from our guests about the delicious food. Not to mention, the Mexico Lindo staff were professional and patient. My husband and I will continue making our regular visits to the restaurant and will definitely utilize their catering service again.“
“Food is fresh and delicious. Does not have like a dirt taste to it like some other seafood places I've been to. They really hook it up and are not stingy with their seafood.its not like they're counting shrimps, again, like other places. They got few TV's and I believe a jukebox for entertainment. Staff is polite and friendly. Been here twice and I like it.“
“Excellent service from Fabian, Mario and Fernanda every time we go there. It is our weekly hang out place because we love the food and their service.I love trying most of the menus on their list.Vegetarian options: They have variety of options that is not on the menu.“
“I tried this restaurant 3 times before writing an honest review; so here’s the true… great food, great service the customer service is friendly and fast! I order the food to go and my drive is over an hour but they are careful to pack it in a way that keeps great until my destination. Great job ?“
“Maybe I'm giving this place to high of a rating for what it really is, but this is my style o restaurant. No frills, good, honest food. The owners care about their business and it show by how they treat their customers. Visit long enough and you will see a lot of the same customers. It's the Cheers of restaurants...they will know your name and your favorite plate.I recommend tostada mixta, fish tacos, burritos micheladas, (and french fries... I know, I know)They have Karaoke on the weekend nights with the obligatory, terrible singers... The music way too loud for my liking so I order take out.“
“My grandmother always goes here so I’ve came here a ton of times as well. Always nice employees and always greeting us in Tagalog. Also this place is always somewhat busy no matter what time you show up here. This time we ordered tea, white rice, sweet and sour boiled fish, roasted eggplant, crispy salty pork, honey walnut shrimp, egg drop soup, Mongolian beef and another beef dish. Food has always solid portions and tastes great.“
“I travel here often on business. There are plenty of restaurants in town. However, I love the Red Restaurant, Attached to the Pacific Palms Resort.Excellent balance with menue options, from seafood to hamburgers, offering many items to choose from. They have a number of Asian dishes as well as pastas and salads of many varieties. They also boast a nice wine selection, prominently displayed at the Lounge entrance.Full bar and views of the golf course. Both inside and outdoors seating available.“
“I’m originally from vegas so I have a specific Chinese restaurant I go to but considering I will be in Cali for a while I decided to try something new! Amazing I got the shrimp fried rice and the chicken wings it was amazing and super fresh! The only thing was I had to add extra soy sauce because it didn’t seem to have been enough which that is a simple fix. Amazing job. I definitely recommend and would have this again ?“
“Ordered the dry pot crab from here for the first time for take out. The crab was so delicious and spicy, seriously, I'm craving it as I type this The service was quick and friendly. The decor inside is very aesthetic too, I highly recommend eating here!“
“When It Comes To Mexican Shrimp Plates, Guys This Place Takes It. Usually I Always Get Shrimp Plates, I Have Not Tried Their Caldos. Although I See Alot Of People Who Get It. But The Flavor The Shrimp Plates Have OMG ? You Have To Try It. Since I Ate Here I've Never Stopped, Its My Favorite Go To Shrimp Place. Plus, They Have Ice Cold Beers ? ?“
“This place has it all. Beautiful little hole in the wall with the nicest staff. Came her with family once and once with friends. Both experiences were impeccable. Had a nice sunday morning breakfast with the family and got the chilaquilas with green sauce. (I need to go back to try the red, but there's no way it's better than green.) My 90yo grandfather even liked the food even though he hates everything. Then came once with some friends. Too afraid to sing karaoke, but whether you're crying about the one that got away or partying it up south of the border, you'll get a boisterous uproar from the crowd.I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in town. Waitresses are cute, too.“
“I don't live in the area but I was in the area and I was craving Poke. Very fresh and yummy! Big enough restaurant for indoor dining- however we got it to go. Fish was fresh and let me tell you they did not cheap out on the toppings, I was impressed and even gave the guy a tip for not saying "oh sorry we can't that's an additional charge." They were very friendly and clean. They also had a bunch of Hawaiian drinks to pick from, plus they serve Hawaiian ice :) going to come back for that! Definitely hit the spot and definitely going to recommend it to all of my friends that live in the area. Thank you Alohaus!“
