I thought it was very good and the chicken had a nice flavor and was not dried out. I nearly did not go in because the storefront was blackened and was a bit surprised when the door opened.“

“Wow! Finally, a GREAT chinese restaurant in this part of town. I have been to a lot of chinese restaurants in my life and this one really stands out for excellent with many authentic dishes. May was our server. She was wonderful. May helped us select dishes. The food was fresh and the produce was super fresh and clean. We tried the Magic Chili Chicken, absolutely delicious and spicy. The Chow Fun was the best I have ever had, wonderful flavors. We also tried the Spicy Pork Dumpling appetizer, amazing flavors and the sauce was so good I was eating it with a spoon. We got our usual General Tao's Chicken, but theirs was so good, the flavors. Not your typical version swimming in a heavy sugar syrup. I actually felt good after eating dinner there. “I was in the mood for good Chinese food and I was in Rocklin. I consulted the Google, which told me to venture northeast 2 clicks and Boom ! The food here is excellent. I had to soft Hong Kong style House Chow Mein. It was really tasty and waiter filled my coke twice without me asking. My actual helping was twice as big. “I’ve been here twice now and I can’t believe how good it is. I can’t say that I know what authentic Chinese food is, but the taste is very different from the usual Chinese-American places. It reminds me of places in Chinatown in San Francisco.

I had the Kung pao chicken and Chongqing chicken (which already tells you that it’s not your usual place) and they’re very flavorful while not being overtly sweet or salty. I also get an idea of a Chinese restaurant based on the hot and sour soup and this place makes one of the best in the area. It’s different enough to notice.

I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Chinese-American food, but wants something a bit different from the 99% of the Chinese restaurants out there. And you can also have the usual chow mein or orange chicken if you want.“

“Best chinese food in the Sacramento area. My wife and I were super excited to find this location near us, we will be regular and repeat customers for sure. We love spicy dishes, and we ordered some non-spicy for our kids with us, all bangers. “Hometown Dumpling in Folsom, CA, serves up some authentic homemade dumpling... they gots boiled, steamed , and pan fried in a variety of fillings.

The menu also has wonton soup, noodles, soup dumplings, fried spring rolls, crab rangoons, cucumber salad (Asian style), Chinese egg custards, bbq pork buns, sesame red bean paste fried balls,, stir fry veggies, taro steamed buns, and some other items.

I've tried the dumplings boiled, steamed, and pan fried. The boiled ones are slippery and best when I'm in the mood to have them swirled in a sauce like hot chili oil. Streamed ones have a slight chew to the dumpling exterior than the boiled or fried dumplings.But doesn't take away from the taste. Pan fried is good when you want a crispier exterior and slight crunch. Whatever way you order 'em... it's all good! The egg custards, sesame balls, and crab rangoons are classic and my other go tos. I enjoy the diversity of the menu. Gotta confess, in Folsom there is not a lot of these good authentic dumpling places. Plus throw in some dim sum items...score! Is it Michelin star, no. It is homemade and comforting, yes!

“Saturday, 9/27/2025 - Went to try Folsom Palace Asian Bistro. The restaurant is like, about 300 sq feet. Address is 3941 Park Dr, Ste 10, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. There are many stores here. Restaurants, massage place, pet stores, gas, US Bank, Golden 1, etc. Lots of parking. Upon arrival....

Pros
1) Restaurant looked clean. Tables, chairs, utensils, cups, plates, etc all looked clean.
2) There's a bar.
3) easy to find parking. We got seated right away. We were the only ones in the restaurant since we were early.
4) our waitress was very nice and attending. She checked on us several times.
5) water tasted good. No funky or odd taste.
6) all of our food dishes were good. No complaints. 1 bowl of rice for 1 person is $3.50.
7) they had seating outside, in the front too. I saw a few tables there.
8) our waitress brought us a few boxes to go, as we had extra foods left.

Conclusion
I like this little place. Not too bad. Service was great. Parking was easy. Lots of stores all around, even a Target close by. You can catch a movie if you wanted too. Movie theatre isn't too far away. I'd come here again if I'm in the area. Not to shabby. I wanted Drunken Noodle. They didn't know what that was. Hahaha. I guess I'm at the wrong Asian restaurant. Lol“

They were so busy and a customer literally got in line unprepared to order and taking orders on the phone while the line got longer and others were losing it. Juan was gracious and calm. Amazing!
