“When we stayed in the Sonoma/Healdsburg area, our resort concierge recommended that we try Gary Farrell as one of our wineries to experience while we were in the area. This was our first stop and it was an amazing winery- only open for reservations only (no walk-ins).

We arrived a few minutes before our tasting and were warmly greeted by the host staff and shown to our table, overlooking the beautiful Russian River hillside area. The views from the winery are absolutely outstanding.

We learned from our host that the owners of the Gary Farrell Winery don't own any of the vineyards, they only procure the grapes and they're the wine maker. The wines were all drastically different and some of the best Chardonnay's we have had on any of our tastings we have done in Napa.

The host was so knowledgable and very warm and friendly. We went away with a new found appreciation of their winery and purchased a bottle of wine to take home with us for a Christmas gift. Gary Farrell is truly an amazing winery and I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area! We look forward to returning!“

We did the chocolate pairing which was delightful, and even got a bonus pour or two of some older vintages. Was fun to try the same wine but different year side by side. They also brought my dog a keepsake bowl and “treat flight”. Don’t skip this one!“

“Porter Creek Winery was such a peaceful gem and one of the highlights of our wine country trip. The team (Crystal) went above and beyond to accommodate us, even staying a little late so we could enjoy the experience — and we’re so grateful they did!

The setting was absolutely stunning — quiet, serene, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was the kind of view that makes you want to take a deep breath and stay a while. The wines were just as memorable, especially the Zinfandels — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

To top it all off, we were greeted by Poppy, the sweetest dog who made the whole experience even more charming. Between the warm hospitality, the incredible wines, and the peaceful ambiance, it was the perfect way to wind down our day.

My partner and 2 friends and I had lunch with the team and got to learn so much about the winemaking process and how Limerick utilizes regenerative farming techniques to not only take care of 115 year old vines, but to make some of the best wine in Sonoma County! “The Flanagan Winery is an exquisite location that serves delicious wine. Our tasting visit began with Tara bringing a tray of Chardonnay to us in the parking lot and it continued with tastings of high quality Pinot Noir, Shiraz, & Cabernet. All delicious wine & at an affordable price point for good wine. We were impressed with the quality of the wine & the hospitality of Tara & of Eric Flanagan the owner, too! It was a special experience in which we learned a lot about wine making! I highly recommend it!“

“We came across Aperture Cellars after it was named to the World’s 50 Best Vineyards. Coming in with high expectations, the wines and experience blew us away.

Let me tell you.. we’ve been to MANY vineyards across Napa, Sonoma, and Paso Robles. Our host, Makenzie, stands out and truly created an unforgettable experience. Forget the bland, pretentious description of notes and the barrel that the wine was aged in. Her descriptions of the wine were spot on. Never have we had a Sauvignon Blanc described as a breakfast wine that paired well with dumplings or Thai food - SOLD.

We were lucky coming in the off season and having ample time to savor the wines. Will absolutely come back and tell our friends about this winery. Well deserved of their #14 ranking on the World’s 50 Best Vineyards.“

“We had aof group of 8 do a tasting. Tasting was $25 per person and we tasted 6 wines. Ali is extremely knowledgeable about all wines with her past experience. I have done over 100 wine tasting in addition to numerous barrel auctions. This was one of my top tasting experiences. The passion Ali and Eric have put into their wines shows up in the quality of each wine we tasted. One of the more unique wines we tasted was the Brave, named for cancer survivors. I have tasted many rose' wines but the Brave was more rich and full bodied. Would go great during the holiday's and with appetizers. We bought all the varietals and plan on enjoying sharing them with friends. Working on planning another visit soon“

“2nd time to Kokomo. What a great place. Amazing wine and staff. We were lucky to get Rob for our tasting. Unlike the crowded big name vineyards in Napa, Kokomo is a gem where they treat you like your the only people in the world and not a number. If you are in Sonoma/Healdsburg and don't go there you are missing out!“

“A beautiful property with excellent wines. How exciting for Healdsburg to have an establishment experimenting with lesser-known indigenous Italian varietals. I appreciated their approach to making these wines to be paired with food (the Italian way) and enjoyed the lighter, lower alcohol, elegant touch to the winemaking style. It is a breath of fresh air to find a producer like this in California. In their beautiful tasting room, you will find a wide array of imported Italian goods from art, ceramics, candies, food, and ingredients. I enjoyed the display of the different regional flags from the various regions of Italy. Many people don't realize that Italy was only unified in 1861 and how unique the individual regions are. “Merriment Vineyards is a great Vineyard and winery. Our large party of 11 was greeted at the entrance with an extra tasting of white when we arrived. We brought our own food and had a very enjoyable tasting of 7+ wines. Both whites and reds. All were excellent. We will definitely return before boarding our return flights.“

“The tasting room is housed in a lovely, broad building with walls of glass and attractive architecture. There is a raised back patio, but I was glad to see that tastings were held on the front lawn and garden this hot Saturday afternoon. It offers shadier spots, and I chose one along the path that felt like my own cozy corner among the plants and butterflies.

It was still hot under the umbrella! But the tasting room staff kept my water carafe filled.

“Come for the wine, stay for the beautiful grounds!

I proposed here a few weekends ago (she said yes!). I couldn't think of a more beautiful, intimate place! The tasting room has a beautiful view of the vines below the mountains, stunning in the afternoon sun. There is an area with some picnic tables below a clump of redwoods. And the gardens are the highlight for sure, gorgeous, well tended, and we got to sample a few kinds of figs along with our charcuterie!

We really enjoyed their GSM and seeing the wine in the making! Special thanks to Julia, she helped me find the perfect spot for the proposal and just went so much out of her way to make sure we had a time we'll remember for the rest of our lives! We'll definitely be back!
