“I took my boyfriend here for a Californian wine tasting experience and it was so perfect. The vineyards are beautiful and expansive and free to roam through but the service is also just as special. We were hosted by Darren who was extremely knowledgeable about the tasting notes of every wine and the individual process it takes to make each bottle. Darren offered us samples of lots of wines too and we even got a special wine cellar tour that we weren’t expecting. He then introduced us to the family owner of the Dry Creek Vineyard itself (like meeting royalty!). He really made our visit so memorable. If you’re planning a wine tour whilst in the area, this historic site is an essential first stop!“

“My husband Michael and I met co-owner Doug in Cloverdale, and he invited us to come visit the tasting room owned by his wife, Crystalyn, founding partner, and him. We did so and were so warmly welcomed. Music by Adam was off the charts that day, and the wines delicious. We went again and met Doug’s son, Declan, who similarly was gracious and helped us join the wine club and learn about great area restaurants and theater. A truly family affair, and a casual tasting room where you can feel at home, sip wonderful small batch wines, and listen to great music. Highly recommend, as this place stands out in the crowd.“

“Porter Creek Winery was such a peaceful gem and one of the highlights of our wine country trip. The team (Crystal) went above and beyond to accommodate us, even staying a little late so we could enjoy the experience — and we’re so grateful they did!

The setting was absolutely stunning — quiet, serene, and surrounded by natural beauty. It was the kind of view that makes you want to take a deep breath and stay a while. The wines were just as memorable, especially the Zinfandels — rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

To top it all off, we were greeted by Poppy, the sweetest dog who made the whole experience even more charming. Between the warm hospitality, the incredible wines, and the peaceful ambiance, it was the perfect way to wind down our day.

“We found this winery when driving by and decided to come back later in the day, and I'm so glad we did. We didn't have a reservation. Zack was an excellent host, and we were quickly seated and enjoying our tasting flight.
This winery has loads of rustic charm. Plenty of parking.“

“What do you get when you cross a mathematician with a grape? Perfect wine! Moshin wine shines with small volume meticulously crafted slow aged harvests. We were lucky to satiate our palates with phenomenal wines and spend our time with our host and wine docent Robin Froman. She is an amazing documentarian of this estate, its wine and wine educator. It wasn’t hard to choose to purchase wines. All around 5-star experience.“

“Stunningly delicious Pinot noirs and more. Papaietro Perry came recommend by our hotel and it absolutely did not disappoint. We had a fabulous time on the tasting deck with gorgeous views. “The tasting room is housed in a lovely, broad building with walls of glass and attractive architecture. There is a raised back patio, but I was glad to see that tastings were held on the front lawn and garden this hot Saturday afternoon. It offers shadier spots, and I chose one along the path that felt like my own cozy corner among the plants and butterflies.

It was still hot under the umbrella! But the tasting room staff kept my water carafe filled.

A few wines stood out among this tasting of five, with two bonus wines offered by the staff: Mazzocco Stuhlmuller Chardonnay Reserve 2022 and Mazzocco Seaton Zinfandel Reserve 2022.“

“I had an informative, professional tasting with Heather, who couldn't have been more easy to talk to and quick to answer in-depth wine questions. I was amazed at the aromatic complexity of the wines, particularly the Pinots. The Macrostie portfolio is attractive with a greater number of varieties represented, more than many other nearby wineries. The property is stunning, the caliber of wine and service is fantastic. “Wonderful wine tasting experience!! We reserved a tour with Viator, Food/Wine pairings, so much fun. Our favorite stop was Portalupi. Tim, one of the owners was there to explain everything. Oh their Barbera is divine!! This was our first time to California wine country, so we loved hearing all the helpful info from an expert, he has a fun personality too. We are family now, joined the wine club, all set!“

“Limerick Lane was our first stop during our wine country vacation. I chose all our wine tastings/stops based on small production wineries who farms their own grapes. They also boast Zinfindel for which the region is known for.

They made time for us as walk-ins, even though they were setting up to host an event. The wines were truly outstanding! We left with a few bottles and I recommend NOT leaving without a rose. Out of our entire trip, it was the absolute best.

We also had the privilege to meet the owner, Karen, who has a tender history with the winery. She is smart, kind, and passionate. If you spot her, make sure to say hello.“

“We booked a private tour of Bell Mountain Ranch and ended up spending three hours touring and tasting at this incredible property. We learned so much about Medlock Ames' organic farming practices and winemaking in general thanks to the welcoming and knowledgeable staff.

The only thing better than the views at Bell Mountain are the wines themselves. We can't wait to return.“

“A beautiful property with excellent wines. How exciting for Healdsburg to have an establishment experimenting with lesser-known indigenous Italian varietals. I appreciated their approach to making these wines to be paired with food (the Italian way) and enjoyed the lighter, lower alcohol, elegant touch to the winemaking style. It is a breath of fresh air to find a producer like this in California. In their beautiful tasting room, you will find a wide array of imported Italian goods from art, ceramics, candies, food, and ingredients. I enjoyed the display of the different regional flags from the various regions of Italy. Many people don't realize that Italy was only unified in 1861 and how unique the individual regions are. I see the effort made by the Orsi family to demonstrate this on their property. For the locals, beyond the wine, you find some of the best products from Italy. Grazie Mille.“

“2nd time to Kokomo. What a great place. Amazing wine and staff. We were lucky to get Rob for our tasting. Unlike the crowded big name vineyards in Napa, Kokomo is a gem where they treat you like your the only people in the world and not a number. If you are in Sonoma/Healdsburg and don't go there you are missing out!“

“They had 21 Pinot Noirs and one Chardonnay which was their first endeavor with that grape. They hit a home run with it. I was even able to get a chilled bottle, just what I was looking for on a hot day. The Pinots were all good, some very dry, some not so much but not jammy.“

“Came here for a Mother's Day/Birthday celebration last weekend and had an amazing experience! Grant was our server and he did an amazing job giving us a background of each wine we were tasting and explaining the meaning/history of the winery. “Matrix Winery is located on a beautiful property just outside of Healdsburg in northern Sonoma County. Like many of the wineries in this region, pinot noir is a specialty of theirs, but zinfandel and chardonnay are also strong contenders. I was a member for the last three years, and each bottle was quality.

One of the reasons I joined Matrix’s wine club is how much I love their outdoor patio and its view. It's also an affordable tasting at $25. Don't hesitate to ask if you want to taste something other than straight pinot or zin, too! I quite liked a recent 50-50 petit sirah and zinfandel blend.“

“J Winery has been one of my favorite places in Sonoma for years, and I’ve proudly been a member for at least the last three. The wines are consistently excellent, but it’s the full experience that makes this place stand out.

The Bubble Room is truly exceptional—Chef Forest creates beautifully paired bites that turn a tasting into a full culinary journey. It’s a must if you’re visiting. The Legacy Lounge also deserves a mention—the cheese pairings there are thoughtful and delicious, and I’ve spent more than one solo afternoon enjoying them with a view.

The setting is gorgeous, the wine is top-notch, and the staff goes above and beyond. Casey, in particular, has made our last two visits especially memorable with warmth and impeccable service.

“My husband and I had the top notch wine tasting and estate tour experience at the Jordan Winery. It simply could not have been better! It was a great pleasure to be hosted by Michael who guided us through the interesting journey at the winery and gladly answered all the questions we had. Special thanks to the chef, the chilled corn soup with a caviar was a culinary masterpiece. Also, the winery owner John Jordan came to greet us before our dining which made me feel like I was rather a special guest than just another tourist coming to purchase some wine. “This was the first winery my friends and I stopped at on a trip to California. While not a traditional winery in the sense of the vineyards being right next to you outdoors, it doesn't take away from the experience! I came in thinking full well that I don't really care for white wine, and the first one they poured for our tasting was absolutely fantastic!
