“The restaurant is a big deal, since the next closest option is a ten minute drive. We ate nine meals there and worked through most of the menu. The crab cakes and seasonal salad were our favorites.

The only miss was the salmon wings. Everything else was great and we loved the ocean views and lovely service. We'll be back soon!“

“Amazing place to get a bite. I’ve had Spud’s for a few years now. Their clam chowder is the best I’ve ever had. I live 2 hours away, but make sure I get down to bodega bay every few months. The location is awesome, parking can be not great if it’s the weekend and it’s busy. It’s also great they have specials and locally caught seafood. If you haven’t heard of Spud’s then I’m sorry for ya. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone.“

“My friend and I shared a wine tasting which consisted of three small glasses of tasting size. You get to pick the three wines that you want. Not a huge selection., but works. We decided to eat there and I got the crabcakes which were pretty tasty a spicy sauce on top, and there were bell peppers and with the crabcakes. My friend got salmon with the skin was very crispy which he likes but the inside was too rare and he had to ask them to cook it more. It came back, still a bit too rare, and we fed that to the seagulls….The couscous salad that came with it was the best thing of all. I would not run back there but if you’re hungry and in that exact area, it’s a convenient place to grab a bite to eat. They have a couple of different patios outside, and the staff was very friendly. The one remark my friend said was that if they’re going to leave the salmon that raw like they said they usually do, they should ask people how they like it cooked. He loves sushi, but it was too rare for him being that it was salmon. It was a great day to get away from the high heat of Sonoma. We went from the 90s to the 60s wearing a jacket. He had never gone by the school house from Alford Hitchcock The Birds, so we did that on the way out.“

“GF enjoys their clan chowder, I went with a pulled pork sandwich. Was very messy but overall a tasty eat. They don't have a fryer (!) so no fries or fish and chips but they seem to have other good options. I wouldn't call them cheap but they aren't expensive either. We ate outside and enjoyed our day away from the heat.“

“Walked in around 5pm, nice view of the harbor. Food was excellent! I recommend the clamp chowder and Cajun pasta. I love espresso martinis , however I was a little disappointed in the drink. Our first waiter was Ben and oh how we loved him so we always asked for him when we would go in. Sadly, Ben moved out of the area but then we got Danny! Another fantastic server and now we always ask for her! Can't vouch for the other servers but my guess would be that they are all good! Susie is the owner, and she is wonderful! She always mingles with her guests and even gets many of them up dancing! I hope she knows how much her regulars appreciate her! I'm so glad we found this place because we do not live out there. “This place is outstanding! I had the Mexican mocha. It was so creamy and delicious. I’m literally asking myself why I go to SBUX. I had the big breakfast burrito. Was enough for me and my daughter. I love that they grill the burrito. Reminds me of home. (Texas) We had black iced coffee. Very good flavor. Hot chocolate was so good too. My husband had the 2 sunny side up eggs on sourdough. We love coming to Guerneville on the weekends to kayak. And now we have an excellent coffee and breakfast stop! Thank you ladies, for a wonderful experience. Will see you again, real soon.“

“I’ve been coming here for over a decade (though only in fits and starts). Every time, I am very happy. I sit on the deck looking over the river, order a drink and a meal, and chat with friends and locals. I leave satisfied.

The staff? Good at what they do and occasionally exceptional at banter. The food? Average to outstanding. The menu has changed over the years. But it hasn’t gotten worse. If anything, it is what you would expect from bar food in this area and priced fairly. The wait time? Not sure why people are harping on this. Do you have a prior engagement at the opera? The beers? They are fine. The mixed drinks? They are also fine. The atmosphere? Unforced local/townie (and I don’t mean that as a slur). Sure, there are some ‘interesting’ people hanging out. But what do I care? I am a guest. Don’t poke the bear and don’t get the reaction. Poke the bear? Be prepared to engage with ‘interesting’ people who live here. Seems like common sense.

This last visit, I was with a group of nearly a dozen people. Some had been here before. Some hadn’t. Everyone had a great time. That is what a place like this, in a place like this, should do. Support locals. Get out-of-towners to spend their money and leave happy.
