We we rather disappointed recently when we called to make reservations for 4 for lunch on 2/25/2022 and were informed they only take reservations for 5 or more. Is this true ? If so they should so state on their web site.“

“Last Saturday we ordered a lot of food from the melt. The whole crew was working overtime and we all ordered multiple items and the crew absolutely killed it. Lady working the cashier was absolutely amazing. Sweetest lady ever. The cooks were amazing and they have a very good crew working. “The food was delish but the service was inconsistent. We were served by multiple ppl but were told Emily would be our services throughout the night we have saw her twice. The food was very well done. We got the burrata, the Caesar, the special anchovy toast, the cast iron chicken, branzino, and the fresh pasta carbonara with the shoe string potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. For dessert, we got the chocolate bar. All in all a great meal for a fair price. Would be back if in the area as it’s one of the nicer restaurants in Alameda“

They take such meticulous care with every sandwich, and everyone there is genuinely caring. I’ve already gone off the freeway twice just to come back and eat there again, and each time it’s been just as wonderful.
I had the Rib Roast the first time, man what a sandwich, good amount of meat that you can taste the flavor, tomato, layered on the entire bread kept it so moiost delicious. Then the Italian, swapping the salami for mortadella (a perfect switch). The sandwich is perfectly moist, tastey, full of flavor, loved it.
Oh, the lettuce, they do an entire side salad with dressing and put it on the sandwich, unreal. I appreciate this place and recommend it to everyone who cares about a great sandwich.“

Everything we ordered, from their daily specials, to locally sourced ingredients give you a farm to table kind of dining venture. The house cocktails are refreshing-ly good. “Loved my birthday dinner tonight! Portions small for the prices in our opinion. A scallops main dish with 3 scallops is small. Drinks were amazing, decor fabulous and great service. My son had to go eat more food afterwards as he was still hungry. Bigger portions would be good. Loved everything else! Great choices, appetizers, main dishes and creative drinks were delicious. Kind of surprised knowing they knew it was my birthday that they didn't offer me a birthday "something" to make it special. For these prices I would expect something.“

“I have been seeing this place since they opened a while back. So I finally gave it a try and I got the hot boy sandwich. And I can definitely say this is by far one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! And for such an amazing price!

“Totally worth the drive to fish and see Barbara when they open for lunch.. Barbara is totally awesome. Cash only don't worry. There is ATM in the back. Large food and alcohol selection. We had no problems finding a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of amazing outside seating looking at the lake. Side note my friend comes here occasionally and fishes on the straight. He took me here today and we almost caught a Sturgeon together.“

“If you are near the ballpark before 2 PM stop in for a great breakfast or brunch. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and the dish just popped with flavor. The Salsa was excellent as was the Pico and the ham I substituted for the pork chorizo. My wife had a scramble with hash browns, which I can testify were awesome as were the eggs. It's been awhile since we had been there but it won't be long before we go back. Excellent breakfast spot.“

“Today we visited El Jardín de los Sueños Cafe ( Garden of Dreams Cafe) It was crowded but the service was spot on. The ladies serving worked fast and the hot chocolate we order was yummy. The neat thing about this Cafe is that they have a children's play space . They have children's books a doll house and toys. Food wise they have regular Cafe drinks but their hot chocolate has delicious cinnamon. They have omelettes, Bagels ,Sandwiches . protein smoothies and fresh juices. They also carry a variety of candy from Mexico and el salvador. There is also an outdoor seating area. Today being Saturday it was crowded but there was plenty of standing space. I loved the livelyness of the Cafe and overall it was a very interesting place to visit. I think this is a great place for families or for friends to meet.“

“Truly a gem in the East Bay. It’s tucked away and easy to drive past (like I did the first time I went). They have a large variety on the menu ranging from pasta, to burgers, to Mexican food. I had the Jambalaya Cajun Pasta and my friend had Al Pastor tacos. The tacos were flavorful, and the pasta was very good and filling. Definitely recommend if you have a picky family and don’t want to make multiple stops for dinner.“

It looked good and the location was close to where I was staying, so I invited my brother and sister-in-law to join me for dinner that evening. It is clean and friendly, and the food was great, and the prices were reasonable. I had the special for that night, Coq au Vin. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, with baby carrots (not overcooked) on the side. Yummy. The sauce was not too thick, very tasty, and not over salted. Compliments to the chef. I got the last order of it for the night. Brother had the chicken piccata and loved it. Brother had a hot toddy, which we agreed was over-nutmegged, but that's just our taste. Sister in law had a Paloma - I don't even know what was in it, but she gave it a thumbs up. Next time in OAK, I will definitely have at least one meal there. Highly recommend!“
