“After being invited by the owner few months ago I decided to finally check this place out. The barman, if I remember correctly (Jose), was very good and accommodating, like a lifetime next door neighbor. Portions were adequate. It was under salted so I could season it to my liking, it's great for anyone watching their sodium intake . Was not crowded. The bar had 2 TVs showing 2 different sports simultaneously. This place has something for everyone. It's run by LatinoAmericans and has small town Midwest feel to it. Service 5 stars (down to earth, unpretentious) Food. 4 stars (very good) Ambiance 4 stars (Older place, Rustic) Parking 5 stars (Ample) Price 4 stars (nothing is cheap, but given inflation I understand) Crowd 4 stars (Boomers & Gen X) I had the: Southwest tequila lime shrimp fettuccini. It could have been better with some fresh crushed garlic (for flavor) and some chopped green like cilantro parsley dill or something like that (for aesthetics). Maybe even some chopped broccoli/raw spinach (for nutrition). I will return =)“

“It's tuesday, so it must be cream of mushroom soup. The cream of mushroom soup is excellent, extremely tasty and well done. The service was very good, fast, efficient, friendly and professional. The Ambiance overall is very good it is a little bit loud but the excellent food and service more than make up for that. This is a wonderful restaurant at the end of Angela's Crest Highway in La Canada, it's a quick on and off the freeway so please take time to stop by and enjoy the wonderful time you'll have and the great food.“

“Have passed by this place since they opened way back when. We decided to have Saturday breakfast here instead going to our usual places. We were not disappointed as we were seated right away and menus given by our server. Not too many ppl at 9a so lots of seating choices! Many regulars eating here as servers and bus staff greeted each other by name! Ordered the usual omelette and short stack which arrived quickly and was delish! Easy parking lot and we will be back!“

“Loved everything! The service was warm and friendly, the food amazing and the space is beautiful. The only thing I'd change is the soundtrack volume as it was a very shrieky hip hop rap that was difficult to listen over and concentrate with. Thank you for your hospitality.“

“Easily the best wine list in Alhambra and possibly the SGV and Pasadena area. If you're looking for a curated wine list with excellent European and American options served alongside a stacked food menu this is your spot. It's not cheap but the quality of the food and service is well worth the price. We've needed elevated dining in Alhambra for years and we finally have it with Yang's.“

“This jungle sanctuary is worth every dime. The decor is amazing, the service is excellent and the food is exquisite. Everything at Meteora is memorable; whether it's the à la carte menu or the set menu. The sweet pea hors d'oeuvre or the risotto entrée or the rib eye (the wagyu is advised) or the chocolate ganache with sorbet for dessert. Every dish leaves an unforgettable taste in your mouth. We were lucky to be served by Gina but then, everyone who brings a dish is super helpful. Thanks Meteora for this unforgettable culinary experience.“

“We love going to musso and franks but tonight seemed very noisy and service was not as good as usual. Food was excellent as always but we waited a longer time than usual for our food and we had to ask for refills on tea. Brought our family to show the place off and the food didn't disappoint !“

“We ordered the hippo bread, cauliflower, ravioli with clams and the hangar steak. All so delicious! The hippo bread is soft and sweet with that butter. The cauliflower is shareable and so good! The ravioli was fine and the hangar steak was slightly sweet and tender. Our waiter, Alejandro, was so attentive and answered all of our questions. He was fabulous! The kitchen is open so you can look and see which is always fun! Love the music, too! We walked past the restaurant but then I remembered it was by the pizza place so we circled back and found it. Can't wait to return!“

“I was offered an all-expenses paid trip to the "Clark Street Diner" (克拉克街餐厅) on Franklin Avenue. During this All-American™ escapade, I was slyly offered a small bag, containing salt-upon-sea, by a dishevelled, camoflauged Hollywoodian native whilst engourging of the delicacies delivered by this All-American™ "Clark Street Diner" (克拉克街餐厅). I indulged in this salt-upon-sea once entering their one (1) lavatory. This legal and easily accessible substance enhanced my dining experience tenfold. It should be offered at the table, and is my only complaint with the experience. I should not rely on local pathfinders to expand my experience.Vegetarian options: No.Kid-friendliness: The kids were very friendly ! They thoroughly enjoyed my salt-upon-sea.“

“Cool vibe in the main street area of Larchmont! Stopped here for a quick drink after shopping in the area. Got a Michelada and Sangria! The Michelada had a nice kick and served with their own beer. The Sangria was good too and not overly sweet. Lots of cute and small boutiques nearby. Definitely would come back, and try some of their food!“

“Very pleasantly surprised by the meal. Ambiance is great, perfect music volume. Great looking outdoor space, but i never felt outside. The food was the real star of the show. Service seems to start slow, by design. They give you a moment 5-10 minutes to settle into your table, before the "show" commences.“

“Its a beautiful cosy place, takes you back in time. The cakes, as you can see in the video look delicious (didn't try one though). We had the lemon pancakes which were AMAZING, also the breakfast burrito which was really delicious as well and very filling. Their coffees were also flavourful and strong.Lastly, salmon with potato pancakes..which I personally didn't really like.. they had a funny taste.. quite soggy.. something about the salmon? Or the eggs? I didn't understand but unfortunately has a weird and not good taste.“

“This place is interesting. Upon arriving we were told they wouldn’t seat us until our whole party was there which was interesting because there was no wait otherwise (we were missing 1/3 people. I got a cold brew with a little oatmilk and vanilla and it was solid. I ordered the chicken biscuit and had asked if I could add American cheese to it because I saw their other biscuit had it but was told that they couldn’t give me a (1) slice of cheese because it’s reserved for another dish on the menu….. (the other biscuit) so the waiter suggested preserves which I went with and it was most of the flavor for the chicken biscuit. The chicken was nice and crunchy, the biscuit itself was warm and soft but ultimately dry without any sauce. I loved the Filipino inspired dishes on their menu. My wife had the breakfast burrito with longanisa in it and she loved it“

“**Update: there is no place I enjoy eating at for important meals than at HLAY. Food and drink are second to none. But, it's the staff and crew that really and it into the stratosphere. I couldn't ask for a better meal, all around, than here. Jonathan, the place is in good, capable hands. Rest in power and at ease, they got this covered for you.Find me a better restaurant in LA with a better staff, better curated menu with drinks, better ambiance and I'll fight you as you why you're wrong.“

“Kind of hidden away in the slightly shady feeling streets south of Hollywood Blvd is this gorgeous cafe/restaurant.If the weather's nice try to get a table outside, otherwise inside is just lovely.Apart from the awesome breads, the salads and sandwiches are amazing. “Great atmosphere, definitely a nice date place. The service was great and friendly. I didn’t have a reservation but they were able to give me a seat at the bar. I ordered the onion soup and beef tartare. Supposedly onion soup is their signature dish, but it was really salty, I was a bit disappointed…. Because it was a $20 bowl of soup. The beef tartare was excellent, it would be nice if they offer one extra slice of bread and some more salad leaves. I was happy that they have half bottle of wine that I can order. Wine list is quite nice.“

“WOW. It was an amazing dining EXPERIENCE. We had a party of 9 which allowed for trying many items. Everything we ordered was tasty.:Rating -10 - Bing (Cultured Butter & Honey - Ribeye Au Jus)10 - Little Gem Salad9 - Grilled Boy Choy10 - Crispy Potatoes8 - Mushroom Crispy Rice9 - Grilled Striped Bass8 - Iberico Pork11 - Whole Plate Short Rib11 - Desert DonutThe bing hands down some of the best bread I've ever had and the toppings were superb. The little Gem Salad was a complete surprise with unusual flavor combinations dancing in my mouth. The Crispy Rice and Iberico pork were my least favorites. Pork was a very small portion and dry. Crispy rice had great serving presentation however there were bits a little difficult to chew. Boy Choy and Bass were good but nothing stood out.Short rib was decadent, tender and absolutely delicious with an unexpectant surprise of fried rice made with the remaining bits from the table side serving. To top of the evening was the OUTSTANDING donut desert served in New Orleans flaming style with caramel, Macadamia nuts and pineapple.Cant wait to return. I daydream about the outing and Already have reservations to try other items and reorder my favorites.“

“If you want good Filipino food from a family owned cozy staple in Filipino town then this is the place to go! Came by here during a visit to LA and it was recommended by some friends who live in the neighborhood and I was not disappointed at all. Here are some takeaways:EnvironmentThis is a small cozy restaurant that has a family style vibe to it. A great welcoming energy, we felt right at home. We stopped around midday during the week so it wasn't a lot of people there. Overall it was relaxing and warm - great for lunch with friends or if you're alone and want to grab a bite to eat.ServiceOur server happened to also be the daughter of the owners. She was great and was happy to share some of the history of the restaurant with me. She was very helpful with telling us about the food and giving us recommendations. Great service!Food and drinksWe had a little bit of everything - and all of it was great! Here's a run down of everything we had:MAMA LEAH'S COCONUT BEEF ADOBOANN'S CORNBREAD BIBINGKASTEAMED WHITE RICENOEL'S SMOKED GOUDA MACSAN PABLO PULLED PORKEverything was delicious. The coconut beef (amazing!) was great with the steamed white rice, the mac and cheese was tasty, the pulled pork had a lot of flavor and the cornbread was warm and sweet, but not too sweet. Again - all the food was great.OverallLovely family owned restaurant. So glad that we stopped by here. If i'm ever in LA again this will definitely be a place I'll visit again. Great food with a great story.“

“Kali is a one Michelin-star restaurant and a delight to eat at with friends on a weekend night. If you're craving a Michelin menu but don't want to wait months in advance, highly recommend Kali! You can find spots on weekends easily on OpenTable even last minute. That being said, it's not my favorite of the one Michelin stars simply because of price- the price it places on its tasting menu puts it solidly in the two-Michelin price range for only a single Michelin star. If it lived up to the two Michelin price, I would feel differently. However, the menu (with some hits and some misses) was solidly in the one Michelin category, which is a still a big compliment to the chef and Kali team. The perks of Kali is that you can focus on the flavor and the food, rather than the high-end service; Kali is the most down-to-earth Michelin restaurant I've been to and it's a nice break from steam-pressed napkins. Chef's Tasting menu as of March 2024 Beach house- favorite Beef tartare with egg yolk sauce, and cuttlefish sauce- favorite Market salad Celery root with side of homemade sourdough loaf with rosemary butter Cod was replaced with a pork ravioli with truffle shavings Added uni pasta, which was an absolute fan-favorite and would be worth going back for Cheese crisp was too salty and too strong, not a fan Egg white gelato was the hands down star of the show, I would have licked my plate clean (Probably missing a few items because I gave up on taking notes midway through and Kali doesn't provide a typed menu afterwards like most other Michelin restaurants I've been to due to their daily exchange of local ingredients) All in all, Kali was a delight to be found in Hollywood. Truly California eating, and as our wonderful server said, the chef shops weekly at the local farmer's market and subs in ingredientes on the menu accordingly. Wonderful vibes and tasty uni pasta!“

“Edited for recent visit on 2/7/24:Finally got to try the malai pasta. It did not disappoint in flavor and was fantastic. I think adding some meatballs would further elevate this dish with some protein. Lamb sliders were also super tasty. The pizza was fine but was made better by dipping it in the malai pasta sauce. The staff were gracious and helpful. Significantly improved from my previous visit. Would come back.Malai pasta: 4.5/5Lamb sliders: 4.5Green tikka pizza: 3.5Old review:I’ll admit we didn’t have the pasta. Between the pizza, wings, and something else we had we left feeling pretty underwhelmed. We asked a couple next to us about their wings which were different than ours and their response was a similar “meh”.Indian food and Italian food should be full of flavors, this fusion of flavors seemed to be meant for the palate of someone who had never had any ethnic food. I appreciate the attempt, but I felt it was poorly executed. I might give them a try again as it has been awhile.“

“Service was fantastic and the wait wasn't too long at all!! I got the chopped cheese sandwich, fries, & the black sesame oat milk espresso beverage. Chopped cheese - this was delicious!! The taste reminded me a lot of In N Out just with a more hardy bread. I only ate half so thought it was very filling. At $16 it felt pricey but since I took half home I didn't mind!! Criss Cut Fries - this was your typical fry, I enjoyed them but wouldn't get again for $6. Black Sesame Bev - This had a really unique flavor profile but ultimately was just too sweet for me. I'm glad I tried it but would get something stronger next time! I'd like to go back and try a different sandwich! I think I'd only get the chopped cheese again if I was in a real want for a fast food cheeseburger feeling.“

“Every time we visit LA we have come to the Edmond for years. They recently changed their license and unfortunately we didn’t find out until our friend came with her 18 yr. old daughter and we sat down and she had water and was carded and asked to leave. It is now 21 and over, so no more family meals here. It’s unfortunate, but true. Please Post a sign for those that have been coming for years and don’t check the website.“

Everything from the very friendly, efficient service to the wonderful atmosphere (just loved their decor, color scheme and relaxing background music) to the excellent food was outstanding! They made our wedding anniversary lunch really special! Recommend the delicious black kale salad and wild salmon bowl. Their yuzu pana cotta and soft serve sundae desserts are to die for!! “The asparagus fries. Crispy & not greasy. You can appreciate the asparagus flavor. We split the Thai spicy salad. It was spicy, but the Thai basil & the peanut dressing were the stars. It didn't need the chicken. The best was the ribeye melt. The meat was cooked perfectly. The sourdough was crusted with parmesan. With a side of horseradish that was perfectly paired for this sandwich.“

“We love Bourbon Steak. They always find a way to make every occasion that we spend there very special. Tonight was special in that it was Mama's birthday. That said, our Server, Omar was / is exceptional ... very attentive and genuine. “Little Dom's has become our go-to for a post-hike brunch. Despite the number of options on their menu, I always find myself gravitating towards my two favorite items -- 1. Eggs Fungi - The oyster and shitake mushrooms are cooked to perfection with just the amount of bite without being too mushy. With two poached eggs and a creamy hollandaise over toasted sour dough, this is definitely a favorite amongst our group. If you're feeling like you need a bit more protein after your hike, go for the Hanger Steak & Eggs which is pretty much the same dish but with the mushrooms replaced by steak! 2. Ricotta Cheese & Fresh Blueberry Pancakes -- Just get it...you'll thank me later. Super fluffy and light pancakes. In our last trip here, everyone at the table got an order of pancakes for themselves. Oh yeah, they have outdoor seating so your pup is invited too! Just don't forget to get him a side of bacon ;)“

“This might be the best burger I have ever had (I got the chipotle burger). It was so delicious. Sam was super cool and he told us about how all the dressings were made from scratch — and they did not disappoint! The fries were delicious. I love fries that are both soft and crunchy. The salad was delicious. I’m at a loss of words for how good it all tasted. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the food but it was gone by the time I thought of it. Lol I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend you give this place a try if you love fresh food & supporting an amazing local business!“

“I just hurt myself trying to finish the GF Detroit style... damn good pizza. I'm a "sauce man" and I would put there red sauce over pasta and bon appetit it; no questions asked. Great mozzarella (with that authentic salty milkiness) and quality toppings. If you're gluten free like me, this is the best pizza in LA hands down. Prior to my GF life, pizza was my favorite food group and I've eaten it all over. You can always tell a good pie by the components. There is a quality and style that goes into the pizza here. Canned sauce is disgusting and evident during the first bite at other shops. Once again, the sauce is great here. Park near Astro and walk over as that lot is not fun to try and get into or out of. I will be back“

The tahdig/persian crispy rice and the roasted maitake mushrooms were our favorites of the night. “I've been following the Chef Lemos' progress with development of this restaurant and after the success of Wax Paper I was really excited to try it. My wife and I stopped in for brunch on Sunday. Outdoor patio has a good deal of seating in the front and a lot in the back, but the front has a view of the river, which you can also hear occasionally when an obnoxious and pretentious woman isn't drowning everything else out (that's not a knock on the restaurant, just the hipster attitude of some people). The food and drink options are solid. I got the breakfast burrito which was excellent and my wife had the eggs 'n' curds which she enjoyed. The star of the meal was her brunch cocktail, the Superbloom which came at the suggestion of our server. My wife mentioned she could have enjoyed a pitcher of it, especially in the outstanding weather we had. Caution to driving in, however, the construction of several apartment buildings is a little potentially rough on your tires so be mindful. I look forward to returning for dinner in the future. Keep it up Pete!“
