“I went here cause of the large number of 5-star reviews on google maps this place has. I wasn’t disappointed. Very efficient service. Loved the ambience of the place. The breakfast croissant sandwich is a unique offering in the area and honestly it was so good.“
“I travel a lot and stop by local mom and pop coffee shops often to enjoy some caffeine of course and get work done while one the road. I stopped by this location passing through San Diego. What a pleasant surprise. Greeted by the owner Victoria and her wonderful personality and smile I ordered a delicious coffee of sorts along with one pastry, and one more to follow. The I was entertained by a gentlemen playing an accordion while the owner sang along with an amazing voice. This food, environment, drinks all 5 star. Must stop by and enjoy the experience. Cheers“
“Whether you are popping in for a glass of wine before shopping at Sepulveda next door or having dinner of their wonderful specials that change daily (check Instagram), you will enjoy your experience at Juan Jasper. Lots of lively conversations between the staff and patrons (while still being attentive), varied and upbeat music playing just loud enough in the background, and a direct view of the kitchen makes for a wonderful atmosphere. A small act of consideration and respect by a customer is rewarded by the generous proprietor. This is what service and dining should be. You can see why folks happily wait to get a seat at this local gem. Cannot recommend enough: great for lunch and dinner.“
“Nice to little cafe inside the TD America building. I got the French toast special with both sausage and bacon. And then my friend got the waffle special. Everything was excellent. Eggs were scrambled perfect, sausage was flavorful, bacon was meaty and flavorful, and the French toast and waffles were both very good. We will definitely be back.“
“The food at Donny's is always delicious. Donny, the owner, is always in a good mood, starting conversation with customers making them feel like friends even though it is the first time they meet. I love this small, cozy, cheerful and welcoming place.“
“Came here for the first time to celebrate a friend birthday. We had the bottomless bubbles, which was a great deal, and really enjoyed the three juices. we also acute espresso martini and our friends drink. They actually wrote happy birthday. I had chili and I thought it was delicious. The weight staff was very friendly and the ambience was very clean and prestige. I will definitely be back..“
“My favorite ever croissants. I’ve brought my entire (non vegan) family here one by one and they are just as obsessed as me.We got a cake once too and it was amazing. And I’m not even a cake girly. Also don’t miss the lemon bar ?Dietary restrictions: Vegan“
“Portuguese inspired coffee shop with a pleasant outdoor space. Their lattes are hit or half-hit, depends on who your barista is. Their tarts are amazing. And their vibe is excellent. The loaves of sourdough they sell are made by a local baker. I wanted to love it, partially bc I love the hype, partially bc it was like $15, but honestly it was just okay. Prager Bros is still light years ahead.... Still, the place is fun, good quality, and adds a lot to the neighborhood.“
“Came in on a busy Monday but only had to wait 10 mins! Never had been to this place before but was delighted by Sebastian who accommodated us well and who always was checking on us. The food was so good and loved the crepes at the end very yummy veryyyyy yummy!“
“What a darling space. Truly marvelous on the inside.Came to catch up with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The barista was enthusiastic about what was on offer and I appreciate a good recommendation! (I do wish they served their X-Factor drip, though. It is AMAZING. You are missing out if you don't grab a bag!)Much love to a shop that provides resources and community awareness. It is so important and makes the extra circling for parking worthwhile.“
“Probably my new fave Cafe in DT SD. The staff are so kind and personable. The Pastries are out of this world delicious. We tried their tiramisu, rose and prep macaron, and lemon cake?I forgot what they're called, but it was soooo good.I also really love their signature orange latte!!!The space itself from the outside looks small but it is bigger inside, the decor gives off very monochromatic, calming vibe I will def be coming back!!!Edit: I went back the 2nd time to try the basque cheesecake and omg it was so decadent, light and fluffy. I couldn't stop eating it. All of the desserts I've tried so far has HIT. And yes, I got the orange blossom latte again, decaf with oatmilk - it was 7pm when I went“
“This is one of the best spots in Southeast. Get plugged into the community while sipping some great drinks and enjoying some surprisingly quality food. It's worth going out of your way for if you're not in the neighborhood; but if you're already local, you're probably already here.Parking: Limited street parking, so you may need to walk a bit.“
“I've never felt so good about spending money at a restaurant. Seriously. The fact that MAKE Projects is a non-profit and is self-sustaining gets a lot of the press, but it goes so much deeper than that. They also offer a 12-week program for first-generation kids to learn a trade and if they decide the service industry isn't a fit, they will help them put a resume together and offer ESL assistance to get into other industries. I'm doing a terrible job with my overview but you get the gist.Oh and by the way, the food was amazing. We went family style and tried about 7 different dishes between 3 of us. The Afgan chicken was my personal favorite but everything was fabulous. And we were all so impressed and touched by the mission. Ashley the manager was great as well.Keep up the great work and I'll be back!“
“The 5 star reviews are spot on! I was staying with a friend a few blocks away and decided to grab some coffee and pastries. Everything was delicious and Kim was extremely friendly. I was the only non-regular of the handful of customers currently there, and it was cool to see the relationships Kim has built with all her customers. Will definitely go again next time I'm in the area.“
“We discovered Public Square a month ago during one of our visits to the Friday Farmers Market on La Mesa's main street and truly enjoyed the atmosphere, the customer service and the food.I had the avocado toast (which I had never had before) that also includes hummus, veggies, a wonderful and unique dressing and an egg, which I had scrambled on the side. Filling and very tasty. We went back this past week and had lunch there again so now it is a go to for us when in La Mesa.“
“They serve some really cool coffee flavors here, good food options too and the outside area is really nice to sit and relax in.Vegetarian options: Good amountsDietary restrictions: YesParking: Not badKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Probably my 2nd or 3rd visit ever - been craving it and was washing clothes down the street. If the delicious smell of all the food doesn’t lure you in, you’re missing out. Such a simple menu, yet food is packed with flavor! Got the turkey chipotle and Mexican mocha. Great folks and atmosphere and adequate wait for the food. Love that they have space for local artists to showcase their work and a section for business cards. What a great way to build community while bringing rich flavors to the neighborhood.“
“This is an amazing hole-in-the-wall Cafe. It's run by mom and pop with amazing and tasty pastries. I'm a big fan of their empanadas. They come in beef and chicken. Soooooo yummy and flavorful! The kind lady that runs this Cafe is so so sweet and so welcoming. I've only went twice so far because I was craving empanadas and the place I usually go to ran out, and the kind lady remembered me from just meeting me once. She's so sweet. And everything else is just as amazing. So instead of the other place I usually went to, I'm only going here from now on!!!“
“Ahh lovesong. This reminds me of LA. The coffee shop is so cute inside, I love all the decor and design, very open concept with lots of natural light and plants. Just a really nice place to be in and to take friends to. I really enjoy the creativity and presentation of the drinks. Most drinks come with a floral decor. The menu has a lot of variety for coffee drinks. I also like how there's lots of drinks with savory elements that you would not typically associate with coffee drinks (think rosemary, thyme, salt, habanero pepper) as well as other sweet ingredients (maple syrup, coconut flakes, fig, banana). For food they have a few items in their fridge, like yogurts or chia bowls. I Wish they offered more food options or pastry options. Their pastry display is pretty small. But I get that the specialty here is the coffee. The service has been good. The times I've gone the orders take a while but that's because there's a huge line/wait. But when we get our drinks they taste great.“
“This is a small cafe that has been around a long time. As such, it's not necessarily trendy or have great decor, but it is a nice place. Our waitress was good and the food was also good. If you want a great sloppy Joe, or a good salad, this is a good place. Plus they serve a few vegetarian dishes.Parking: The parking lot is small, but we found parking at lunch time.Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely wheelchair accessible.“
“Came for a weekday lunch and had the B-appled panini which includes the pasta salad for $13. Prices are fair. Outdoor seating is picnic table style. The wait staff are fantastic! Came to ask if we needed the heater on, how the food was, and read my mind that I needed a to go box.I lost or dropped my valuable there and went to retrieve it the next day with everything in tact. Super appreciate the honesty and integrity of the staff and patrons here! Would love to come back for breakfast sometime.“
“C-Level is a San Diego treasure. The menu is so yummy and the view is amazing. I had the "skirts on fire" salad and it's one of my favorites anywhere. My aunt had the ahi avocado stack and it looked delicious. Our server, Mindy, was friendly and attentive. .“
“We finished eating at Buona Forchetta and wanted to continue with drinks. Kindred was packed so we came to Harland. So glad we did. We got seated immediately, great drink options and great prices! It was too cold to sit outside but great if you have fur babies.“
“I actually had no idea this was a vegan place, but it was a nice surprise since I usually have to worry about dairy content. I'd heard some say the hot chocolate was too mild, but I think differently: my iced chocolate was mild, but it's nice for the chocolate to not be overpowered by sugar. You can actually taste the dark chocolate, and the drink itself is light and pleasant, with nuance in the chocolate that deepens as you drink it. For me, almond milk was the winning base, but they also offer coconut milk and soy, among other choices. The ambience is very pleasant, it's a small place but charming. Friendly, fast customer service. I do think the pastry selection leaves much to be desired.. but the truffles looked delicious. Will try them next time for sure!“
“Large portions. Friendly staff. Food is pretty dang good. Prices APPEAR to be a bit high due to the neighborhood, but portion easily gave me 2 meals. Well worth it. Huge portions!I came there with 2 hungry coworkers. We all left with extra in boxes for later. I happily recommend this place, straight up.Owner was part of the staff during our lunch. Great guy, very much "on it".Complaints: parking is a hot commodity in this neighborhood. Not their fault! Lol!! (Or is it? Hard to deny how many people like this place!)In short? This place has become a "go to" for many in a very short time. This "up and comer" is getting VERY popular for good reason!Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly in a heartbeat. Diabetic friendly same. I had multiple options, and I'm surprised at the options available.“
“My kids regularly request the Mini Pancakes with Nutella, strawberries and bananas. I don't like pancakes, but I love these. It's a treat with some fresh and healthy fruit. Coffees are great too. They staff is friendly and they keep the place clean. Consider also going next door to try their other shop Extraordinary Fruits. Between the 2 everyone in the family is satisfied.“
“Been here a few times, not much to say other than it's a neat little Cafe, wait staff was super nice and helpful, a good variety in coffee flavors, food was not anything special which is not a bad thing, atmosphere felt calm and relaxing typical for that of a cafe, overall, a nice little cafe with good coffee and “
“Best place to bring a toddler for breakfast/lunch. The staff was lovely. Tasty, comfort food with good pricing. Kids pancake was in the shape of Micky so that was a bonus! And the best thing of all: the planes! We sat facing the air strip and between watching planes take off, helicopters flying overhead and the toy plane the waitress brought my son to enjoy while waiting for his food - it was nonstop entertainment. Will be back!!“
“You will never "just happen by..." this place. Even knowing the address you may still miss it. But it is worth the effort!!! Not a large menu by any means - but everything they do is done to perfection! On top of that - conversation with Mack is worth the trip by itself!!! Will definitely be back!“
“Best food in town!!!! The ambiance is the best brunch feeling while the food is so diverse and covers all types of foods. The waffles are amazing and the breakfast menu is very good. The kufta and eggs are tasty. The stuffed breads and menemen sausage is wow. The bread freshly made in front of you is wow also. They also have a healthy menu too for those who want that. Mimosas are so good.“
“IT'S PINKY'S!!! I like the location right on university ave. We found this place just driving by.The service was great, the atmosphere is chill, and the café is bomb! I got the Coconut Honey Latte and wifey got the Rose Honey Latte and lemme tell you, this is your average drinks!!! They were both so damn delicious combined with the chill service and atmosphere y'all got customers for life outta us!!!Keep doing it PINKY's!!!“
“Good place for an expensive bite delicious bite. I love how the servers are accommodating in the beginning but forget about you after the food was delivered to the table. The place is small but cute. Only recommendation is for service to remain the same throughout the whole time.“
“Did it live up to the hype? Yes, yes, and yes. Ever since I got back from New York where I had some of the best banana pudding, I've been on the hunt for something similar in San Diego. I found myself near the area, so I stopped by to try Extraordinary Banana pudding, and I am so glad I did. They had many different flavors but I am basic and like original stuff, so I went with the regular and also tried the banana pudding cupcake. The pudding was fluffy, smooth, had fresh bananas, and wafers - it was so delicious. The cupcake was also just as good, it reminded me of banana bread in cupcake form. The only thing I wish was different is the packaging and the pudding to have more wafers, but that is obviously a personal preference. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. Large trays were available, but I believe those need to be ordered in advance. It is a bit pricey, but what isn't, inflation is everywhere. Overall, I will be back for more!“
“Loved my visit to Seven Sea Roasting and I think you will too, read more to see why:1. Let's start with the coffee, it's great! Tastes like they know what they are doing. Perfect temperature, great flavor, all around great. Highly recommend for the coffee.2. Service, there is something about San Diego coffee shops where I walk in and get a drink a few minutes later. It's amazing. Super fast and high quality. Also, the people working were kind and helpful. Helped me find a treat for my daughter who can't have gluten.3. Love the details in the space. Awesome aatmosphere. For coming at 7:30 in the morning the place was active. Seems like a spot a lot of people enjoy. Good attention to detail.Highly recommend checking this place out, see photos to get a sense of the space.“
“Cute space, great coffee. All sizes get 2 shots of espresso. Decided on their Honey Lavender latte - delicious. Hubby wanted his usual Caramel Macchiato, so Caramel Latte is it. Kids got hot chocolate, my son described it tasted like marshmallow. Overall good!“
“I‘m traveling through the U.S. and this was the very first coffee which didn‘t charged anything for alternative milk! I was gladly surprised about and the coffee was very tasty and the waitress very kind! Would highly recommend this place and there should be more café‘s like this who don‘t charge the non diary milk! I mean it‘s 2024!“
“Inconspicuously small deli spot in Jamul. When you pass by it may not look like much from the outside, but TRUST it's a hidden gem. Love this place - it's my favorite deli. It's family run by Manoli and his wife Rosio. Their son Milton also helps them out. They've been in business for almost 30 years. One bite of their pastrami sandwich will explain it all. They are so sweet and just the nicest and welcoming family. I love their consistency, every time you walk in the door you're greeted with a warm smile and food is always made with love. They don't make it til you order it and taste homemade. Give it a try and you'll find why they've lasted through time. From the sandwiches, their salads to their smoothies. You can never go wrong and the portions have not been affected by inflation. Same portion size.“
“I loved their mocha! Great local coffee place and café. Lots of outdoor seating and parking. The staff was super friendly. Great experience! I will definitely be back. My only disappointment is that they do not have merch! Would have loved to get a fun T-shirt, hat or beanie. Coffee culture is a thing. Coffee lovers like to collect merch from memorable coffee houses in our travels. Hopefully next time I am in town, I will be able to pick up a fun T-shirt. ??☕️ ?“
“Our quest for a quality cake within our tight budget was arduous until we discovered Frost Me. Prior to finding them, we had tried numerous cakes from different vendors, each failing to meet our expectations either in taste, ability to deliver, or affordability. With just six weeks left until our wedding, we were losing hope until we discovered Frost Me.We were immediately impressed by the taste and quality of Frost Me's cakes. The frosting was perfectly balanced in consistency, texture, taste and mouthfeel, while the cake itself was a delightful combination of moistness and fluffiness. The cake was not only delicious but also had a fresh and light flavor. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the unique churro flavor, and even my discerning husband, who fancies himself a cake connoisseur, was thoroughly impressed.Having a three-tiered, elegantly designed, and delicious cake was crucial to fulfilling my our vision and ensuring our guests had a memorable experience. Additionally, Frost Me accommodated our gluten-free needs flawlessly, providing a gluten-free version that tasted just as amazing as the main cake.Audrey, the talent behind Frost Me, was not only professional and knowledgeable but also artistic in her approach. We were incredibly grateful that she was able to take on our wedding on such short notice. The simple yet elegant design they crafted perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic of our celebration. We wholeheartedly recommend Frost Me to anyone in search of a top-notch wedding cake that exceeds expectations in taste, quality, and design.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Wedding Cake“
“I finally tried the pumpkin waffle and it was lighter than I expected and was delicious. Friendly service, few people there the last hour before closing. The parking was a test of patience.Parking: Beware the parking spaces are in high demand and the parking meters are not always in working order. Twice the parking meter I was at did not work. I was so excited to find a spot and then had to move once because the meter was broken. I learned my lesson from a time before when I was given a ticket. It was drizzling and the meter to the left facing the restaurant was malfunctioning. The interface was hard to read because of the elements. I guess they malfunction in the rain. I wish there were more parking options. I miss free street parking.Kid-friendliness: It's a smaller place, the chairs and vibe are more adult-y. The chairs are more for couples and the seating is tight. There are many other better options for kids.“
“I was craving some yummy coffee and decided to try this place out. I got a large black salted caramel latte and the hubby got their new strawberry chai tea latte. Both were delicious and flavorful. The girl that took our order was very sweet and even made some suggestions for next time. The inside was full so there was no seating available. They also have some pastries available to go along with their hot drinks.“
“Coffee fact: While Brazil may grow the most coffee, Finland drinks the most coffee!A New Orleans Iced Coffee ($6.60, 2% Milk), an Iced Hibiscus Blood Orange drink ($4.00), two Lemon GF cookie ($4.50 ea.), and three Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($4.00 ea.) were order. I was going to see my niece later that evening and she was going to be given a salted chocolate cookie and one of the lemon cookies but I'm a terrible aunt and really liked the salted chocolate cookie so I kept all three for myself. ;)They have a window area to see into the kitchen if you're interested in watching them make their baked goods. I will admit that the drinks weren't it though. The New Orleans Iced Coffee tasted watery and the Iced Hibiscus Blood Orange drink wasn't balanced with it leaning more towards hibiscus than blood orange. Oh well. You can tell this is a well-loved spot in the neighborhood. There was even an adorable dollface Persian kitten sitting in the patio that looked as pleased as can be being outside Lofty Coffee Cafe and Bakery. Stop in, grab a cuppa, and enjoy a leisurely stroll down Little Italy.“
“Adorable spot tucked into a small part of lot.Owner came out and helped us with the menu; hand delivered folks’ food even with a pick up window; and owner even tossed in a small side of fries for the pup.Hidden walkable gem in north park/city heights cusp. Owner clearly loves what he does and cares for his customers; genuine smile the whole time we were there.Service: efficientFood: outstandingVibe: chillOwner: legendHotel: trivago“
“Cute shop and interesting choices! I'd come back but because there was only one person working the cash register and making the boba teas, it took a long time just to get one drink. The person at the counter was very nice and helpful. I just felt bad for him because there were 20 other people in the tea spot trying to order or wait for their teas and people kept coming in to order, which delayed the drinks coming out even more. The cashier/barista was a bit overwhelmed. I'd probably go to a tea house that staffs properly next time. The orange jasmine green tea drink was good otherwise!“
“The atmosphere was amazing, super chill employee and very nice. The prices were very reasonable too, and best of all the coffee was actually great, I've been to many coffee shops that have a wonderful environment but terrible coffee and this is definitely NOT one of them. I recommend it to anyone in the area or just passing by.“
“I was in the area... Yohed Coffee catch my eye and I stop to try the Utopian coffee & pastry's.I ordered a Cappuccino 5/5Sambusa was really good 5/5Cappuccino was one the best cappuccino I tried.since I never try any Utopian food and/or pastry the owner help us.Really friendly people.Location is really convenient, easy parking.Ambiance is good, Love the decor I need to comeback to try the whole menu.Great coffee shop...Love it .“
“I adore George's Cafe. This modest cafe is the staple go-to of my office for a reason. The owner and staff are so sweet and the food is consistently a delicious great value. Bulgogi plate and coffee: $20! I work with to elders and the owner and staff are always so kind to them. It's so important and just adds to the love.“
“Pros: baristas are very friendly and the latte and breakfast burrito I had was pretty good. I also appreciate how many tables / seating they have.Cons: the music is very loud and gave me a headache. Not good for people with noise sensitivities. This also made it impossible to hear the person across the table from me because everyone around us was trying to talk over the noise of the music.“
“The look and feel of this place is cozy and easygoing. They have some smooth jazz playing, which is refreshing. There was a great selection of drinks. The pastries look really good, and the coffee is also fresh and taken care of. What really got me was the food!I got the eggs Benedict and oh my God I have never in my whole life ever had a ham steak that tasted this incredible! I didn't even recognise the ham at first because I was expecting an entirely different flavor and texture like every other ham steak I've ever had. These guys do it justice! The rest of the eggs Benedict was just as carefully created.“
“Everything about this place has been graced by humanity's urgency of success and ambition. This cafe is absolutely the most wonderful best cafe in all of the west coast and dare I say in the entire united states. In all my years of living i have never experienced such an experience as wonderful as dinning in this wonderful place. A small little piece of heaven on earth.“
