“I love this place so much!! Everything from the amazing food to the overall energy and ambiance. The crispy chicken is literally the best sandwich I've had in L.A. in years, and the desserts are off the chain, as well -- the raspberry lemon cake is my favorite. “Yummm. Hijo De Su Madre has the highest rating out of any vegan restaurant within 20 miles of LA, and I see why. It's definitely worth coming out of your way for if you love vegan businesses. I tried the Yucatan sampler platter, and everything was delicious. What really stood out to me was the Longaniza con Papa taco, which is among the most satisfying tacos I've ever had. The potatoes on it were perfect. Another highlight was the pumpkin seed dip. The quality of all the ingredients is great. And if you love a light dessert, try the Crema De Coco. It's not too sweet, the fruit on top is super fresh, and the consistency of the custard is really enjoyable. Plus, the service here is amazing. And the food was ready very quickly. “You can always expect to have a fabulous time at Haidilao. While this chain can be more expensive than normal for hot pot, you will always know what you're getting when dining at Haidilao - high-quality, consistent, and above-average hot pot. It's like the Din Tai Fung of hot pot, and most folks would tend to agree. It's beloved for good reason.

I would suggest going with a large group, as you'll have the opportunity to try more dishes than you normally would if you had gone with a smaller group of 2 or so. Plus, it's always more fun in a larger group, in my opinion. Additionally, I definitely recommend being careful not to over-order, as it happens more often than not. Remember: You can always order more later!

I've been to Haidilao twice now and I definitely would add this to my roster of easy, group-friendly dinner ideas if you're looking for soup during a cold winter night (or any night, for that matter).

“We have been coming to this family and female owned restaurant for many, many months now. They have great choices, especially for former, or soon to be former, meat eaters. Generous portions always cooked exactly to order. You *must* order the drunken nachos. Their pinto beans are the best we have ever had. Wish we could cook them as well as they, at our own home! The horchata is excellent, and The Wife enjoys their margaritas. Small carpark, but we have never had problems with street parking.“

“I used to love going to Planta when I lived in Canada, so I was genuinely happy to discover they have locations in California too. The menu offers a fantastic selection of fresh, flavorful vegan dishes that make plant-based eating exciting, not restrictive. It’s fast, creative, and satisfying — definitely not your average vegan fare. The bar is impressively stocked, offering great cocktail options that complement the food well. However, the service left a bit to be desired. We had to wait quite a while for our drinks, and our server barely checked in throughout the meal, which took away from the overall experience. Still, if you're looking for high-quality vegan food with bold flavors and great variety, Planta is absolutely worth visiting. Just cross your fingers for better service. “The pizza was to die for — we had the margarita pizza — thin crust and sauce delicious. We had the artichoke burrata appetizer which was delicious too. The area where the restaurant is located is very cool. Enjoyable all the way around.“

“I recently purchased food from here while attending a conference in the city of Los angeles. It was truly fall off the bone deliciously seasoned chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy. It was a little difficult to separate out some of the smaller Bones from the half chicken but I got through it and enjoyed that I could rend the flesh with my hands because I did not have a knife and fork (I do not mind this it made me feel cool to eat it manually). The bread was spectacular and was baked to a degree of fluffiness that I have not experienced in another bread. I got it with hummus and pickled turnips which were pretty delectable, very toothesome and vibrantly colored. The sauces I chose were the tahini and the red sauce which were both nice accents on the food. I also got a delicious mint lemonade which was the perfect amount of sweet and tart with a nice cool mint flavor.

It is so difficult nowadays to find truly authentic Middle Eastern food, oftentimes it is just a poor imitation co-opted and misappropriated by people from northern Europe who think they have a claim to the land. That's why I am so glad you have gotten food from Jerusalem Chicken where I could tell it was cooked by people truly native to the land.“

The food was flavorful. My friend ordered the namesake quesadillas, and I ordered the jackfruit tacos with mango salsa. Double the flavor - we shared our meals. Yum! “I love it here. Tiny spot so reservations are a must. Plenty parking in the back (aka the Ralph’s parking). Everything I ate made me happy. The appetizers are worth every penny and every bite is an experience. I followed suggestions I saw on social media and the hummus and lamb app with , a jollof platter (plus a couple other plates I loved but can’t remember) did not disappoint. “As a New Yorker, my standards for breakfast & brunch are high. I’m so glad I came here! There’s a freshness about the atmosphere and the food selection is unique and tasty.
I got the curry with bokchoi and we had fried for the table.
They had matcha, which went perfectly with the creamy-with-a-kick meal. 🥰I wish I had 2 stomachs so I didn’t have to leave a bite uneaten, but I could only get through have of this lovely meal.

“The only thing that wasn't a hit was the shakshuka. The vegan poached eggs had no flavor and were more of a gimmick. The tomato sauce was fine but nothing special. I'd give it a 5/10. Other than that, excellent pastries! (Which is the point of going there.) The croissants are flaky and I appreciate the generous piping of cream fillings.

Do: Order all your stuff in one go. We wanted to try different things and get stuff to go, so we went to the front to order several times, and each time it was a super long wait. There was basically one person at the front doing everything - taking orders, making coffee, packing online orders, bringing orders to the tables incl, to the non-vegan chaumont next door.... suffice it to say that putting your order in in one go will save you a lot of time.“

“Giving a five stars is because it’s a Taiwanese restaurant. Happy to taste some home flavor!

It was my first time visit this restaurant in the morning. I ordered pan fried pork buns, you tiao, iced sweetened soy milk, and a fan tuan to go. I highly recommend fan tuan because the taste is actually the same in Taiwan. For pork buns, not much flavorful. The soy milk is pretty good actually!

I will come by lunch or dinner time to try different menus!

Went back to try the lunch menu. Ordered a won ton soup and a beef noodle soup. I believe won ton soup with sea weed and some pepper would be better! As for the beef noodle soup, three huge beaf with great soup, better have the noodles with the soup to get more flavor!

“This cafe and Juice bar STOLE our hearts! A MUST when in San Diego and La Jolla. I mean, WOOOOWWW! We were able to sneak in a quick breakfast before our whale tour at the Little Italy location, and thank goodness we did! My only regret is not visiting every single day for their exceptional breakfast and high-quality juices! I ordered the All I Avo Wanted - Blue corn, waffle, smashed avocado, feta, shaved radish, over easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, salsa macha. I mean, holy moly. The delivery was beautifully executed and built perfectly. The blue corn waffle was moist yet firm. My mother ordered the Shakshuka - another favorite dish of mine that WOWed. You can not go wrong with Parakeet. Thank you to the divine chefs and baristas - you made Parakeet the most beloved restaurant during our time in California!!!“

1st) We didn’t make a reservation and the host made it happen to get a party of 6 seated in no time at all
2nd) They were extremely accommodating of 3 kids in a party of 6 which many restaurants are not
3rd) Food was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. From the bread, to the pasta, to the prosciutto to the pizza, and even the mocktail. 5 stars all the way
4th) The service was tremendous and especially when our oldest son, who’s on the spectrum, lost something and the server held onto it for him, which absolutely made his day.
