“First time discovering Rodeo 39, I ordered Chicken Katsu and Shrimp plates. The food was very tasty and well cooked with a side of delicious Katsu sauce for dipping. The Katsu had a little kick to it but not too spicy. The only disappointment was no vegetable offerings even as sides. I would have liked a side of vegetable tempura.
The chicken was cooked just right, great taste and juicy. Mine looked like breast meat unlike other reviews that said thighs.
It's probably possible to get vegetable sides from another place in the food court, we will definitely visit again to try others like Ramen or Hawaiian food.“

And the owners are friendly and awesome to talk with.

You never have to wait in line for too long either.

They also have free drink refills.

The free drink refills adds to the value of the meal.

“I am from out of town i am here visiting my sister in the hospital. I was looking for a good teryaki plate for my wife and I. I read reviews and I decided to try hi bbq. The customer service was great,the price was good and the food was excellent. The ginger dressing was tangy and really good for the salad. The chicken and steak was flavorful and the macaroni salad was really good. Until my sister comes home this will be the place we will go to. If you are looking for really good food at a good price I highly recommend hi bbq. Also the staff was really nice and the place is very comfortable.“

“We had the pleasure of tinting the windows at their location. Such a pleasure working with Carol, amazing business owner and you can tell she cares about her craft as well as her clients. “Our dinner was delightful and authentic thai dishes , the staff were kind & attentive and the food service was quick and affordable as well, that’s why we did ordered a lot, because it was reasonable, thou unable to take more food pictures .I highly recommend the beef curry, steamed chicken , pad Thai, chicken satay skewers , crispy fish pompano’ , crab fried rice , mango sticky rice for dessert . We will surely comeback to this restaurant again.

“We love Joy. My family have been regulars for many many years. Food is awesome. Service is great, servers friendly. Only bummer, when we, as a family, went to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, we presented a gift certificate my husband & I were gifted from my Kids. It was issued at the end of 2019, expired at the end of 2020. Because of Covid we did not venture out until late last year. They did not not honor it. A little bit of a disappointment, but not going to keep us from frequenting our fav local sushi restaurant.“

“We just had our mandatory Hmart food court date this weekend and tried out KZ Mori. For $19 we got the Mix Katsu Combo with Curry served on the side. The tray came with miso soup, cabbage salad and katsu sauce! Pickled radishes were at the counter for self service as well! We were there late afternoon so the wait for food was quick, about 10 minutes before our order was done. Portions are huge, we ended up sharing the entree between the two of us! Light batter on the katsu slices, with such a good crunch to each bite! The chicken tasted a tad juicier than the pork but overall each bite was a great compliment to the curry! Definitely a great stop for a good deal and a great lunch!“

“Nicely flavored wings. I ordered the fish sauce glazed wings, original garlic wings, and shrimp garlic noodles. The garlic wings and garlic noodles were great.

The fish sauce wings are exceptional. Nice umami flavor, cripsy, good size. Haven't had any wings like them before, very addicting. Will definitely order again.“

“The spot is located on the premises of the Garden Grove Home Depot. They have three tables set up right by their spot with a total of seven chairs.

The staff, which included a man and a woman were nice.

I had the beef teriyaki bowl and I was surprised it was so delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection, the teriyaki sauce was not too rich in consistency or watery, and not overwhelmingly sweet, it was perfect. The rice had the perfect texture too. 5/5

I also had a corn dog and it was the first thing I ate. Hehe he, I was pretty hungry. It was indeed better than other corn dogs I've had.

I also witnessed a belligerent woman who was being so rude and disrespectful to the staff and the staff remained calm and very respectful after the woman was making all sorts of rude comments. Props to them for handling the situation with the utmost professionalism and respect despite the way they were being mistreated.

Overall, I had a positive experience with some delicious beef teriyaki and I'll be going for more. If you have not visited them I highly recommend you do.“

“Friday 4th of July Lunch at Chao Nieu 35 with my sister. Ordered 2 dozen oysters Vietnamese style sauces and escargot butter garlic sauce and filet mignon with glass noodles. Delicious and great price for $1 oyster.

Service staffs were nice and friendly however very limited in English. Be sure to bring your own translator.

“I loved this place when it was Tokyo teriyaki. Even when they changed their name to Poke Yaki, they still sold their original teriyaki menu in addition to the poke. Well, the days of that teriyaki chicken bowl with fried shrimp are over, and its too bad because they had the best teriyaki in town. Their poke, however, is quite excellent, but ill never go back because they gave up on a good thing for something else I dont want as much.

If youre into poke, which i am, this is a great place for that. Im just moving on.“

“Wow, so incredibly clean inside. Really nice presentation, better than I anticipated. I went in for the first time and the customer service was great! She was happy to explain and walk me through what they serve and offer with a positive attitude. She even explained the points system as I was paying. That kind of customer service is special when employees are attentive. The gals were cheerful and respectfully welcoming to customers and were happy to help. Good communication 👍🏼 thank you. 😊

“The room is very spacious and the food is very good. This restaurant is in a plaza so there is a lot of parking for cars. The waiter is very fun and lively to talk to. “The bill was $168 for 4 dishes+2 beers+ 1 hot tea pot + 1 hot water pot. We had 4 people for dinner. The ripped off is $20 for the 1 hot tea + 1 water pot(charge $5 per person). The manager credited back only 1 time favor(not second time in the future) of $10 for hot water pot after i complained that we ordered 2 beers for drink. It was ridiculous since a bottle of beer only $3. We will not go back to this place again. New customers please stay away from this restaurant. This restaurant's food is not that good and ripped off.“

(The first thought that entered my mind was that he was a racist) Upon entering the restaurant my friend and I greeted him twice he never did open his mouth and speak. It was our first time there so I had questions about what I wanted to order. He was very pushy and impolite rushing us even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. We should have turned around and walked out but we were tired so we ignored his rudeness. The rice was good but I wondered how it could be cooked to order when we got it right away.“

“Sometimes I have a craving for duck braised in Chinese Herbs Noodles soup. This one is a special duck leg marinated in like Chinese Medicine Herbs, with the darker soup and darker skin. The best place would have a very tender duck leg, not hard and the meat you can taste with the special chinese herbs and the soup and noodles are different from all other soup.
Last time I was in OC, my friend introduced me this place and it's the best one I've tasted so far. It was so good that I came twice. My sister like the bbq duck noodles soup which is good too.
Since I'm always hungry, I have to ask for the extra noodles for $2.
The prices and the services are great, very inexpensive and the service is attentive and quick.
My wife also love this duck soup, I'll bring her here next time when we go together.“
