“Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!“

The service was exceptional, and every dish was delicious. I'd love to come back to experience the main dining room—the decor and ambiance look just as impressive.“

“The little plates are yummy. I love the pita bread that came with the hummus (Salatim plate). The other plates were good also. I loved the bread pudding (I think it's better than the best cake). What I like the most about Bacari, besides the beautiful ambiance, is the friendliest staff.“

The waitress took so long to come back and check on us after our food arrived by time she came back my friend already finished his meal. They need to revamp the menu and get a better chef. This is a very average place for steak. The music place was great though. I would skip the restaurant and convert into a night club!“

“Ordered the off-menu Pomodoro pasta and it did not disappoint. The tomato and petit basil sauce was bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The wax beans were a standout - snappy and bright with serrano chile, toasted hazelnuts, and a tangy Frenchie vinaigrette. The garden lettuces were crisp and well dressed with radish vinaigrette, fresh dill, walnuts, and shallots. Good vibe, happy staff, great mix of flavors. The orange wine pairing tied it all together. “After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

“One of my girlfriend's favorite spots. Plenty of seating, but it definitely gets busy. We started with the guac and chips, and the taro chips were insanely crunchy and so good. I ordered the Tremendous Burger, and it definitely lived up to the name. Juicy, flavorful, and one of those burgers I'd happily order again. The pizzas looked delicious too, so I'll definitely be back to try one. The whole staff was super friendly which made the experience even better“

“Delicious Mediterranean food.
They were great at making seating for our large party (we did make reservations in advance).
The hummus plate had lots of beautiful flavors and veggies that melded perfectly. The roasted cauliflower was especially delicious, with a sumac olive oil (I think, I'm assuming by taste), and a tahina, shug, amba dipping sauce.
The shakshuka was peppery and filling.

“Friendly Comfortable neighborhood spot“

“It was my friend's first time in and we were told that the bar/drinks weren't going to be served. It doesn't say that anywhere on the website or menu, so that really changed how our experience went. Then, our server was fine, but the only one there for all the customers. This is my favorite Badmaash location so I felt disapointed that it wasn't perfect for my friend.“

“My favorite place to hang in LA. The staff is super sweet, the food is fantastic, the drinks are amazing, particularly the Ginger Margarita, the atmosphere is gorgeous—whether you’re inside the stunning deco bar or outside on the beautiful patio. It’s a true gem.“

“We have been going to Horses ever since they opened since it’s right in our neighborhood. The most friendly staff with a big shout out to Amanda. The most amazing craft cocktails and absolutely delicious food. I think we’ve almost tried everything on the menu and have not been disappointed once. Can be hard to get a reservation, but we usually get there at 5:15 and are able to sit at the bar with no problem.“

“So this yard house is right next to crypto arena and the peacock theater. Just be aware that there's an event going on at crypto arena that the happy hour is not in effect. So call ahead and make sure that it is but the main reason I go there is for there incredible deals on happy hour appetite and they also have a late night happy hour. So if you're in the area and there's nothing going on, you can always get the same deals with late night there. They seem kind of expensive when you think about it but when you actually see what you get, the quantity is so large that it's ridiculous like their regular chicken nachos is $18. Half price with a half hour special is $9.50 yet when you get it, it's a $20 plate so you get it for truly half price. You can never finish it so bring friends cuz if you order a couple appetizers even their pizzas you're not going to finish it if you just one person so bring a group. Have a good time. Sit outside inside is chaos. It's so incredibly busy and active, but that's part of the fun of going to a place like this. Have fun. Enjoy and go! Lakers“

“I had a great breakfast at Jacks and Joe’s. The bacon, sausage, spam and eggs were cooked just right, the French toast with strawberries and nutella was delicious, and even the hash browns nice a crispy and the mango and pineapple juice smoothie hit the spot. Friendly quick service. Recommended.“

“I am a major foodie always on the hunt for the best hidden gem in LA and this place it’s truly so special. The best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to hands down run by the kindest all family staff. So much love in this food it is sensational. The summer squash and corn, Chilaquiles, enchiladas, horchatas and Flan are sooooo good. All of these dishes were the best versions I’ve ever had. Couldn’t recommend more.“

“I had an interesting experience because I had my mind set on trying plates I witnessed from previous reviews however much of it I didnt get to try because of seasonal changes. With that, I ended up getting the Salmon dish for entree, ceviche for app and the chocoflan for desert. It was all fabulous.“
