The wax beans were a standout - snappy and bright with serrano chile, toasted hazelnuts, and a tangy Frenchie vinaigrette. The garden lettuces were crisp and well dressed with radish vinaigrette, fresh dill, walnuts, and shallots. Good vibe, happy staff, great mix of flavors. The orange wine pairing tied it all together. “After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

We each hsd the opportunity to taste three different dishes.Wet Burrito, Avo Burger,& fries, & I think it was the loco moco bowl. Plus Beignets. They knew every single dish inside and out, proactively pointed out shared fryer cross-contamination details, and clearly walked us through which items were fully gluten-free outside of regular soy sauce (super helpful for anyone with different tolerance levels). “I am a major foodie always on the hunt for the best hidden gem in LA and this place it’s truly so special. The best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to hands down run by the kindest all family staff. So much love in this food it is sensational. The summer squash and corn, Chilaquiles, enchiladas, horchatas and Flan are sooooo good. All of these dishes were the best versions I’ve ever had. Couldn’t recommend more.“

“So this yard house is right next to crypto arena and the peacock theater. Just be aware that there's an event going on at crypto arena that the happy hour is not in effect. So call ahead and make sure that it is but the main reason I go there is for there incredible deals on happy hour appetite and they also have a late night happy hour. So if you're in the area and there's nothing going on, you can always get the same deals with late night there. They seem kind of expensive when you think about it but when you actually see what you get, the quantity is so large that it's ridiculous like their regular chicken nachos is $18. Half price with a half hour special is $9.50 yet when you get it, it's a $20 plate so you get it for truly half price. You can never finish it so bring friends cuz if you order a couple appetizers even their pizzas you're not going to finish it if you just one person so bring a group. Have a good time. “We arrived on time for our reservation and gave the name on the reservation. The hostess told us she could not find it. I provided the reservation time, party size, and explained that it was booked through OpenTable, but she made no effort to help us locate it. Because the internet connection was poor, our entire group stood there for nearly two minutes while we struggled to pull up the OpenTable reservation on our phones. The situation was already uncomfortable and embarrassing. Once we finally showed her the reservation, instead of simply acknowledging it and helping us, she condescendingly said, “That should be pronounced Yan, not Young.” My name is Yang. In my native language, it is pronounced like “Young,” and that is also how all of my American friends pronounce it. I found it extremely inappropriate for a hostess to lecture a guest on how their own name “should” be pronounced, especially when the actual issue was simply that she could not locate the reservation. A hostess's job should be to welcome guests and help them with their reservations—not to correct their names or make them feel unwelcome. Thankfully, our server, Ginger, was the complete opposite. She was warm, friendly, attentive, and professional, and she completely turned our experience around. We were very happy with her service and truly appreciated her hospitality.“

With that, I ended up getting the Salmon dish for entree, ceviche for app and the chocoflan for desert. It was all fabulous.“

“My family loves this spot on Hillhurst Ave in the heart of Los Feliz. We like to sit on the patio for dinner. There is a fun cocktail list. Our group ordered the Banana Hammock, Garden Spritz and Sweet and Smokey Margarita. All were tasty! The dinner menu has a great variety and many tantalizing choices. We started with nachos with chicken and tuna tartare appetizers. For main courses, we had the LA Classic Burger, Chimichurri Pasta, Tequila Lime Pasta, and Miso Sea Bass. Everything was delicious! Service was impeccable and attentive from Amy and the rest of the wait staff. This place is a keeper!“
