“Love the feel inside, food was awesome, staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. It was birthday and we had a gift certificate so we pigged on almost some of everything they had. Loved all of it. Hush puppies, meatballs and ribeye were solid. Dessert blew my fat head off. It was some sort of bread pudding with ice cream ! This is a nice treat and moderately priced for a nice night out in LG.“

“My family and I stopped by this restaurant on New Years Eve. They offered a special menu on this day. We ordered the Tomahawk Paella, Jamon Iberico and a few other Tapas (nothing special). My favorite was the Jamon Iberico.
The Tomahawk Paella was very underwhelming. The meat lacked flavor (I think they forgot to season it), but the rice was very good and flavorful.
Tomahawk Paella (~$150): 4/10
Jamon Iberico: 8/10
Bread Tapas: 6/10
Overall: 6/10
Service was fantastic. I might give this place another shot and try their normal menu.“

“I wouldn’t call this hidden or a speakeasy because it’s easily accessible from the street. Although there’s no name on the outside, just a logo of a hat and tie. For sure speakeasy vibe. The servers are all dressed in true Haberdasher theme with a measuring tape around their neck.
Inside has the dim underground lighting. We stopped for one drink and I couldn’t make up my mind. So many great choices.
We got Pagoda and Putter Up. The Pagoda has the green basil drops that almost look like mold!..haha very tasty. The Putter Up was with scotch. Too strong for me.
They have tables, booths and high top tables. There’s a glass case in the back full of high end premium spirits. You can join $25 monthly membership to get 5 rare tastings a month.“

“Simply art for the eyes and taste buds. The atmosphere at Flowers is light, yet formal enough for any special occasion. The cocktails were beautifully presented with a wide range of choices (although no alcohol free beer, which is too bad because there are a growing number of really good artisan low alcohol beers out there).
The food was as gorgeous as it was sumptuous. We stared with the blue fin tuna bites, which was enough for three of us to have one each (so we ordered two orders), along with the prawn cigars (4 in that order). Amazing.
Our party ordered the diver scallops with a crispy rice cake and pork belly, the Cortez halibut with garlic cream, the duck breast with risotto and cherry chutney, and the misoyaki cod with forbidden rice. All were cooked beautifully (the scallops were a tad overdone but that’s being slightly critical). I would have liked the pork belly to have been a little less done too. But the fried rice cake made up for those slight imperfections.
The forbidden rice and cod was a pleasant surprise, definitely the best cod I’ve ever had and paired with the forbidden rice it was a stellar combination. And the halibut was unbelievably good.
Desserts were also decadently good. We ordered the key lime pie, the deconstructed apple pie, and the bread pudding. We all thought the bread pudding stole the show so if you are limited to just one, go with that.
And the service? Quirky and excellent with our server having a great sense of humour and good recommendations.
Less than full marks for their decaf coffee though, but it may have just been a mechanical failure.
This restaurant is worth coming to, and returning to often!“

“If you're looking for an old-school but traditional karaoke-room type of place, definitely check this place out! The lady/bar tender was super lovely and showed us to our room right away. She made things so simple for us to do and even offered us an extra 20min after we were all finished singing our hearts out!“

“This spot is tucked away and is definitely worth it the small walk to get to it. The inside and outside vibes are great, the music selection is perfect, the food and drinks are amazing, and our pup loves to chill here.
Although you can walk in, I highly recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a seat!“
“My family and I decided to check out this place after Friday’s Luke Combs concert at Levi’s Stadium. There were several of us. We all love country music. The Dj was so awesome and did not hesitate to play “club” country music. We had such a great time. The vibe was so chilled and the people were so diversed, which we love. We can’t wait to go back for the music and the drinks.
Shot out to the dj’s, you made my family’s night!!! I wish I could post the video we took but unable to….ugh.“

“What a freaking gem. This spot gives off serious LA or NYC vibes right in the heart of downtown SJ. The decor alone deserves a shoutout: stunning tall ceilings, gorgeous wood and metal accents, natural tones, and even a couple of olive tree centerpieces that ties it all together in a sleek, contemporary way. If you need a date night spot, try to lock in a reservation here.
The elevator bar is probably one of the most unique features I've ever seen, shuttling bottles of liquor from the downstairs bar to the loft bar. The loft area wasn't open yet, but I could already picture it being the perfect place to pre-game and soak in the energy from the restaurant below.
The food is dialed in. New American with a Mediterranean twist. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch, letting you watch your dishes as they're being prepared. Highly recommend ordering family style to share. The octopus is an absolute must--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The lobster pasta was decadent - pricey, but you get huge chunks of lobster that makes it worthwhile. We also ordered the monster ribeye topped with some insane butter, cooked medium rare. If you have a group of 4 or more, do it.
The drinks were fantastic, though more subdued in flavor compared to their other concepts like Paper Plane or Mini Boss. I'd recommend dinner at Eos & Nyx, then cap off the night with a cocktail at one of their other bars.
This is a game-changer for downtown SJ. It really reminded me of Bavel in downtown LA, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Excited to see this place finally open!“

“Stevie's Bar & Grill in San Jose isn't just a bar, it's a sanctuary for the soul and a paradise for beer enthusiasts. Each time I return to San Jose, Stevie's is my go-to spot, a reliable haven where the beer flows as freely as the good times. With a draft beer selection that's second to none, Stevie's is like a grand library of brews, each one a story waiting to be savored. The attentive staff elevates the experience, making sure your glass is never empty and your spirits are always high. The vibe here is electric yet welcoming, a perfect backdrop for the delectable snackable treats they serve. And if you're in a crunch for time, the adjacent laundromat turns a chore into a chance for relaxation – sip and savor while you spin and rinse! Stevie's is more than a bar; it's a clever twist on the traditional, a gem that makes San Jose shine a little brighter.“
“We celebrated our kid's B'Mitzvah at Urban Putt with about 100 people and it was SO MUCH FUN. Everyone loved the mini-golf experience and said the food was amazing. All our guests commented that they have to come back with their families. We would 100% recommend Urban Putt for any event - personal or corporate. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and professional and we enjoyed the whole experience.“

“It was good. We went right as they opened and they were quick to get to us. The food was not super seasoned, i felt like i had to put a lot of salt to bring out flavors and because we went when it opened, a lot of the options we wanted were still frozen. The waiters were nice and accommodating, think it’ll be better a bit after they open.“

“Blossom and Bourbon is a fantastic new restaurant with a welcoming vibe and a beautifully designed interior. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, perfect for a special night out. Their lobster bisque is rich and creamy, with a deep, satisfying flavor. I also tried the lamb chops, which were tender and perfectly seasoned, with a delicious blend of herbs and spices that made each bite unforgettable. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for an elegant dining spot with incredible food, Blossom and Bourbon is definitely worth a visit!“

“THEY ARE OPEN MON AND/OR TUES IF THERE IS A SHARKS GAME! This was a place I wanted to try for pre-game dinner but saw they were closed (normally on Mon and Tues). Passing by, we were met by the bartender at the sidewalk who invited us in. I had the New Orleans combo as is had everything I was in the mood for. Not too spicy but tons of flavor. My Daughter had the crayfish pasta which she loved. The service was quick and friendly. You place your order at the counter then pick it up in the window when it's ready. This concept is perfect for those needing a quick, great meal before a game or concert. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. A full bar is outside and beer, wine, sodas are available when you place your order. It's a short 5 min walk to SAP Center. A true hidden gem. I'm looking forward to returning and checking out the live music. Great job P.H.B!“

“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit because of the phenomenal service. I had some work to get done on my laptop and my servers were so accommodating. They checked on me, reworked my table setting when delivering my food, and offered recommendations. The wings were fried to perfection and absolutely delicious. I will say it is on the pricey side but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a hotel. Not to mention the place is gorgeous.“

“Today was my second (2), visit to Locanda Sorento, Campbell for lunch. Both experiences were terrific! We were welcomed at the door seated in areas that were very comfortable, the first visit we sat in the back room and today by the front door. Service was extraordinary on both visits. Sadly I cannot recall the young woman’s name from Italy that served us on the first visit but Marco served us today. Both were excellent. I requested a bit of modification on the salmon I ordered and was accommodated without hesitation. This is on the road to being my fav Italian restaurant. The environment is bright and cheerful, the staff all seem to work together happily, food and service excellent! Thank you Locanda Sorento folks for two wonderful luncheon experiences. Looking forward to many more!“

“Bartender Brian was fun for my brother and me to hang with on a Saturday afternoon after just getting into town for the Chiefs at 49ers game on Sunday. Really wanted to go back but didn't make it work - will most definitely go back again if in San Jose/Japantown! The price per person includes a few beverages and highly recommended (which became obvious WHY) pizza and the Duchess sandwich from nearby J-Town Pizza! Absolutely delicious and ate the leftovers for every meal between Saturday and Monday morning! Thank you, Brian, for your hospitality and local's recommendations!! And for breaking out the Red Horse by San Miguel brewery in the Philippines - a blast from my past!“

“Vpho is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious pho and more! They recently remodeled, and it looks really nice inside—modern and inviting. One thing that sets Vpho apart is that they don't cram their tables together like some other Asian restaurants, so you have plenty of space to relax and enjoy your meal. Plus, there's lots of parking available, which makes getting there easy. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, which adds to the pleasant dining experience. I tried the Chicken Wing with mild spicy sauce, and it was surprisingly good—tender and flavorful. The Beef Bone Pho was outstanding; the meat practically fell off the bone, and the soup was warm and yummy—perfect for a chilly day. Although I didn't try it this time, they have a cocktail menu, which sounds intriguing for my next visit. The restroom is nicely remodeled, but it could be cleaner, which is something they might want to improve. Overall, Vpho gets five stars from me for its delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and great service. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to!“

“Everything we had was tasty. The mussels dish was our favorite. Garlic noodle was also really good. The salmon mousse, we couldn’t really taste the salmon in it but it tasted fine. We also ordered catch of the day dish (not shown in picture), the fish was light and crispy but the kimchi fried rice it came with was lacking; it tasted more like lightly seasoned fried rice—couldn’t taste the kimchi. Overall, the presentation was great and taste was enjoyable.“

“Wow. French-Vietnamese already sets high expectations for me. Not only it is rare to find such in the Bay Area but also you know you're putting together two of the tastiest cuisines. From that regards, we walked into Elyse with high hopes and it absolutely delivered.
As we all know, Vietnam was under the French influence and you have these wonderful concoctions like the Banh Mi. We were curious to see what a French base cuisine with Vietnamese twist could be.
The shrimp skewers were delicious which leaned a bit more Vietnamese spices. They came out a bit cold but the inspiration was felt. The shrimp ceviche on traditional shrimp chips was absolutely genius. The two flavors complement and create magic. The vinegary shrimp ceviche with the fishy thick shrimp chip truly is magical and I had never tasted this combination before but it made so much sense. The Garlic Noodles were top notch. Thick pasta/udon like noodles with soy garlic sauce and plenty of butter. Just delicious. Our wagyu steak was done with perfection, tasty and flavorful and the chef paid attention to all the veggies and potato as well. Every sauce definitely had a French buttery base but spiced with a Vietnamese twists. This is absolutely "fusion" done right.
The desserts finally hit it out of the park. The black sesame panna cotta is simply out of this world. Not too sweet, but bland either. Creme brulee was smooth as well, although not mention-worthy.
The interior gives a high ceiling, modern vibe, clean and chic - perfect for a date night. Decor includes both French and Vietnamese motifs. All around, I cannot believe such a jewel was sitting right in the heart of downtown San Jose.
Elyse is a jewel of San Jose and is worth visiting the city for. It really is that good and has the potential to go up further if the chef perfects a few rough edges. I'm so glad I discovered Elyse and will absolutely be back.
Parking: Public downtown San Jose parking. Tough to find some on the street.“
