“We ordered Pho, egg rolls and spring rolls and everything was delicious. Ingredients were fresh and good portions. My only complaint is that we only got one single packet of hoisin sauce. Good thing we had a bottle at home. Definitely recommend“

“A lovely spot for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese food. The dishes are full of flavor and clearly made with care. Portions are just right, and the pricing is more than fair for the quality you get.
The staff are friendly, fast, and attentive, which adds to the overall relaxed and welcoming vibe.
The interior could use some refreshing—the chairs and overall decor feel a bit worn and dated. That said, the experience is still very positive, and the food absolutely makes up for it. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!“

“Was in Sunnyvale for a convention and went hunting for a little hole in the wall spot… Cam Hung on Reed nailed it.
Grabbed a couple banh mi to go. Bread was fresh with a nice light crunch, veggies still crisp, meat tender and tasty. Simple, real Vietnamese sandwich flavor… very yummy and still priced fair for the Bay.
The shop is my kind of organized chaos. Tiny place, line of people, every inch packed with stuff. Coolers full of basil seed drinks, tamarind tea, Vietnamese coffee… stacks of green and purple jelly desserts, rice cakes, spring rolls, marinated meats to take home. Counter is covered with snacks, candies, steamed buns, random goodies.
Staff was friendly and smiling. Little bit of a language barrier but nothing pointing and nodding could not fix. Place is crowded and parking is tight, and there is a small card minimum, but everything I could see looked clean and well kept, which honestly impressed me with how much they squeeze into that space.
Bottom line… this is exactly the kind of mom and pop shop I look for when I travel. If you want a legit Vietnamese sandwich instead of another chain lunch, Cam Hung is worth the stop.“

“Best pho place in San Jose !! I’m not even exaggerating. Other places charge the same amount and give way less. This place will give you a big bowl. Customer service was the best I’ve had at any restaurant in all of San Jose !!!!!! Well definitely come back again!!!“

“Bò Né Phú Yên is a solid spot for sizzling Vietnamese steak, offering filet mignon, eggs, pâté, and fresh baguettes on a hot iron plate. The rich flavors and tender meat make it a satisfying meal, and the presentation adds to the experience. The food court setting can be noisy, and seating is limited during busy hours, but the quality of the dish makes up for it.
The portion sizes are fairly generous, making it a filling option for breakfast or lunch. However, some visits can be inconsistent, with slight variations in meat tenderness or seasoning. Despite that, the restaurant remains one of the better choices for Vietnamese sizzling steak in the area, especially for those who enjoy bold flavors and interactive dining experiences.“

“I don't know why I haven't rated Khan's before, as it's always been 5 stars all around. I've been going to Khan's since they were at the Winchester location, and we continue to visit regularly now that they have moved to Cambell.
Mary and her family have always been exceptionally welcoming, and have our names and favorite dishes memorized every time we visit.
They have a beautifully decorated solariam which offers a very calming atmosphere, not to mention the sweet aromas coming from the kitchen.
The Bahn Hoi Chao Tom is personal favorite and such a unique dish. The lemon grass chicken is exploding with flavors, an the pho is phenomenal (pun intended).
If you haven't had a chance to visit Khan's, do yourself a favor, and treat yourself.“

“Ordered a few starters and rice from here for dinner and was surprised with the yummy taste with which they had made vegan food so deliciously. We had ordered spring rolls which were stuffed well and mildly spicy, a perfect combination with fried rice. The other two starters were equally tasty and went well with the rice, particularly the mushrooms.“

“Your local, not-so-hidden gem. If you're into fresh tofu, soy milk, or legit viet snacks, Hung Vuong Tofu is the spot.
Tucked away in an unassuming plaza in San Jose, this place is small but always busy and for good reason.
This no frills spot is basically a grab and go. The service is fast and efficient but don't expect an amazing atmosphere and sit down vibes. This is not what the spot is about.
Their house made tofu is amazing. The silken tofu is sooooo silky. The fried tofu is crispy on the outside and custardy on the inside. Don't forget to grab soy milk, as well.
Overall, this is a great spot to get your tofu and soy milk in San ose.“

“Pho & Banh Mi has launched a new brunxh buffet alongside their regular menu, and it’s such a fun concept if you’re craving a mix of American and Vietnamese flavors!
For $18.95 there’s pastries, fresh fruit, fresh-squeezed juices, coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, breads, and even a make-your-own pho station (note: only chicken pho is available for this).
The pho station is a nice touch—you get your own noodles and can build your bowl fresh. The pastry section has croissants, chocolate pastries, sandwiches, pancakes, and more. There’s also a good spread of fresh fruit and healthy options if you want something lighter.
The outdoor seating area is cozy with greenery and white tablecloths, making it a nice spot to enjoy a relaxed brunch!“

“Solid spot for a comforting Vietnamese meal.
My friends who live right across the street highly recommended this place. We stopped in for lunch, and I liked the no-frills, classic Viet diner vibes. The menu had all the usual comforts like spring rolls, pho, and rice plates.
We went for a specialty beef pho and a grilled pork rice combo plate, and both arrived in under 10 minutes. Tasted exactly the way I want them to. Nothing flashy, just hearty, satisfying Vietnamese comfort food done right.“

“Quan Hue Restaurant specializes in Hue-style Vietnamese cuisine, with standout dishes like Mì Quảng, Bánh Bèo, and Bánh Xèo. The flavors are authentic, and the portions are generous, making it a great spot for traditional Vietnamese food. The food court setting can be crowded, but the quality and variety make it worth the visit.
While the dishes are well-executed, service can be slightly rushed due to high demand. Some menu items, like Bánh Bèo, may arrive inconsistently prepared, but overall, the restaurant does a great job of capturing the essence of Central Vietnamese flavors.“
“Best on the menu - They use fresh herbs, balanced flavors (sweet, sour, salty, umami), and light but satisfying textures. Some of the top Vietnamese foods people consider the best include:
• Phở – The iconic noodle soup with beef or chicken, fresh herbs, lime, and chili.
• Bánh mì – A crispy French-style baguette stuffed with meats, pickled veggies, cilantro, and chili sauce.
• Bún bò Huế – A spicy beef noodle soup from Central Vietnam with lemongrass, pork, and thick noodles.
• Gỏi cuốn (spring rolls) – Fresh rice paper rolls with shrimp, pork, vermicelli, and herbs, served with peanut sauce.
• Cơm tấm – Broken rice with grilled pork chop, egg, and fish sauce.
• Cá kho tộ – Caramelized and braised fish in clay pot, savory and sweet.
• Chả giò – Fried spring rolls, crispy outside and savory inside.
• Hủ tiếu – A Southern-style noodle soup with clear broth and toppings like seafood or pork.“

“We were trying to eat at another restaurant but unfortunately Tuesday is a rest day for many restaurants
We got the
extra crispy fried egg rolls 4.5/5 stars
Pho with beef ribs 4/5 stars. my son thought broth a bit bland but I told him he eats too salty. I thought it was fine...Then he agreed it was 4 stars
Very disappointing was the pho ap chao 1star/5 (crispy fried pho noodles with beef). The sauce was very bland. The beef was good(not doctored chemically) but the sauce was very unflavorful.“

“This place deserves 5 stars just because of one thing: egg rolls. This is probably my favorite (Vietnamese) egg roll place in the whole Bay Area. They look super simple and just like any other egg roll but once you eat one you can't stop eating them. What makes it even more amazing is that they still taste good even after they become cold. There are so many layers of taste within each bite of the egg roll it's hard to describe the taste. Just go there and buy some egg rolls and judge yourselves. No other egg roll places even come close if we are only taking about taste.
This is operated by the parents of the now closed LP egg rolls so I'm so glad they kept this store open. They also have other interesting snacks but for me egg rolls are why I drive an hour for.
This is not a restaurant so you can't eat inside but order the egg rolls to go and enjoy in your car or your home.
This is a very small strip mall so parking can be difficult.“

“I passed this restaurant all the time but never gave it any through. Being a rainy day, my wife wanted to try it. I had #5 on the menu, WOW !! Just like how mom uses to make it. It's an authentic original flavor from Vietnam. Not the fusion BS food that's pop-up restaurant is doing now a days. When I went to pay the bill, i looked in the kitchen and saw all the cooks were old in their 60s +, I understood why the flavors brought back memories of the pass. Yes, it's $$, but it's about the same as everywhere now.“

“I got before and after shots of the pho I got and it was sooo good to have, i believe I had got the rare beef flank and beef brisket(the third page of the pho series picture in the middle). Soup perfectly seasoned, noodles good, meat good. It had a lot of soup which is great for a pho, and they had great service even though i was alone with no one else dining in the place either. Since it was my first time I was awkward at first in a new place due to being alone an empty place(came not at peak times) but it was good food. I will be coming again to solo dine.“

“Hole in the wall with the yummiest Hu Tieu in the Bay Area. Very authentic and taste just like something you’d get on the streets of Vietnam. The portion is Huge! I got #1 with soup on the side with a order of yutiao. It came with all the inners and seafood. 10/10 would recommend!
The building might be old, but the food has so much authenticity and vibe is immaculate. Chefs kiss.“

“We stumbled into this restaurant while walking through the mall. It’s a fairly large and clean space with a plethora of tables to accommodate customers. Their key dish is the Cambodian style noodle soup which we ordered, dry, with soup on the side. The soup and noodles were quite delicious and I would certainly go back to eat there again.“

“Our new go-to place for bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls), bánh beo (việt savoury rice cake) and bánh ít tran (viet sticky rice dumplings).
It’s a small mom and pop shop but the quality is amazing. All the cakes and rolls are made to the right texture and not hardened when cooled down.
My husband and I tried various restaurants in San Jose and Orange county to find the right bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls) and we were so surprised to find that the best option is so close to home!! Granted, at restaurants you get more toppings; but if you are only interested in the rolls, check out this place.
We normally re-steam rather than use microwave when serving the rice cakes and rolls at home for better texture and taste.“

“So glad they’re open early. It’s a perfect spot for a comforting bowl of pho to start the day. The broth is rich and flavorful; you don’t need to add a thing. “I went to Pho Now recently and had a good experience. I ordered the basic pho, large size, and it was solid—comforting and flavorful. I also tried the grilled short rib rice plate, which was delicious. The restaurant itself is spacious with bright lighting and high ceilings, which made it feel open and welcoming.
One of the fun surprises was the robot that came around to serve water and bean sprouts for the pho — it gave the place a cool, modern vibe. There are big TVs on both sides of the dining area that show videos of food being prepared in different places, including right there in the restaurant, which was fun to watch as we ate.
Service was friendly and smooth. You order at the table and then pay at the counter. They even give out lollipops when you check out, which I thought was a nice touch. Parking is plentiful in the lot, so getting in and out was no problem.
The only thing I’d mention is that it’s a little on the pricey side, but for the quality, atmosphere, and service, I think it’s worth it. Overall, I really liked it here and would give Phi Now 5 stars for this genre of food and dining experience.
August 2025 update:
We liked it so much I came back again a month later. This time we tried the beef rib pho and a vermicelli bowl. The beef rib is a huge chunk of meat! Really tender, really tasty. And the vermicelli bowl was filling and flavorful. Very satisfying meal.“

“This is one of those places you just want to rate super low so people who don't know stay far away from it. It's that good. Should not be shared with the world because the food is incredible on every level. The more people know the longer the line and the lines are long. Expect a 20 minute wait at least. About the same amount of time to get your drink order.“

“We wanted a dry noodle so we ordered bun. The pork was cut a little thick so it was chewy. The shrimp flavor was okay as well as the cha gio. I wish there were more combinations of meat but I guess that is not their strength. I liked that the noodles were warm and the mint made it flavorful.“

“Huong Lan Sandwiches is a hidden gem that continues to deliver on authentic Vietnamese flavor with every visit. I’ve been coming here for over 18 years, and it’s one of those rare places that hasn’t lost its charm—or its taste.
Every time I’m in the neighborhood, it’s a must that I stop in for their blended Mocha pearl drink. It’s the perfect balance of rich, sweet, and a appreciate amount of pure taste of coffee —hands down one of my favorite treats in the area.
The shop itself is always bustling, and it’s easy to see why. Their Bánh mì selection is extensive and flavorful, packed with fresh ingredients and bold seasonings. Whether you’re craving classic grilled pork or something more adventurous, there’s something for everyone.
I also love how convenient they make it to grab something on the go. Their ready-to-go platters and prepared items are perfect for a quick lunch or even catering a casual get-together.
If you’re ever nearby and craving something fast, fresh, and full of flavor, Huong Lan Sandwiches is a spot that never disappoints. A true staple in the community that continues to uphold its quality and authenticity.“

“We came pretty early and the place was quiet; lots of parking in the lot. It was most delicious pork noodle soup I’ve ever had! The soup was clear and non greasy which is uncommon with pork broths. “OMG! I have been looking for this flavor for 3 years straight, from Canada to California. This tasted like the noodle soup stores in my grownup neighborhood back in my hometown. This brought back lots of fun memories from childhood.Their Shrimp Wonton Egg Noodle Soup and Shrimp Wonton with Egg Rice Noodle Soup were delicious. The Vietnamese iced milk coffee was strong ?The restaurant was quite small, so the seating was cramped. But, they had both indoor and outdoor seatings.
Vegetarian options: Don’t bother. There’s no vegetarian dishes here.
Kid-friendliness: Kid high chairs
Wheelchair accessibility: Better stay at outdoor seating because the indoor seating is quite cramped.“

“Vpho is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious pho and more! They recently remodeled, and it looks really nice inside—modern and inviting. One thing that sets Vpho apart is that they don't cram their tables together like some other Asian restaurants, so you have plenty of space to relax and enjoy your meal. Plus, there's lots of parking available, which makes getting there easy. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, which adds to the pleasant dining experience. I tried the Chicken Wing with mild spicy sauce, and it was surprisingly good—tender and flavorful. The Beef Bone Pho was outstanding; the meat practically fell off the bone, and the soup was warm and yummy—perfect for a chilly day. Although I didn't try it this time, they have a cocktail menu, which sounds intriguing for my next visit. The restroom is nicely remodeled, but it could be cleaner, which is something they might want to improve. Overall, Vpho gets five stars from me for its delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and great service. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to!“
