“We found this place online and decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself is a bit small, good for small groups of up to four. And you can use the tablet to put in an order.

We ordered the Omakase, the dill roll, and the baked unagi roll. The fish was fresh and delicious, but their rolls were a bit too heavy in flavor for me. I had to keep eating ginger to cleanse my palate.“

“My favorite Sushi spot in Walnut Creek!!! It’s amazing here. I get the premium omakase and hand rolls every time. (Usually spicy tuna or salmon). The fish is super fresh and my favorite nigiri is the otoro of course.

They have some rolls there that are pretty good as well. The pacific roll is one of the ones we always get. But you can’t go wrong with all the others. Just pick the one with fish you like and it will taste so good.

Also the staff is so friendly and attentive. It’s worth it every time we go :)“

“I come twice a month. This place is my go to for Japanese comfort food. I love the gyudon just the way they prepped it. Saucy, sweet and savory just like I remember from childhood in Asia. Sushi and sashimi are fresh (enough). Bento is reasonably priced. Atmosphere is good. Not pretentious like some of the Japanese restaurants in this area. They actually play Japanese tunes.“

It was fresh, hot, big enough to split (I didn't). Flavor was on point. Don't really remember a crunchy component but I wouldnt hesitate to order it again.The spicy ramen on the other hand was extremely subpar. Great portion size for the price, but the broth was flavorless. The chicken was definitely dark meat. The veggies and ramen were overcooked. Chicken bouillon, salt and red pepper flakes were a must to achieve the flavor I was looking for.“

“The food was pretty good. They had these little flip cards with pictures of all of the rolls so you could see what each one looked like. They had very large pieces of sashimi so you really get your money’s worth. While the sushi was good, I wouldn’t say it was exceptional. The crab meat in the California rolls were mixed with a lot of mayo which was gave it a weird texture and taste. However, the other rolls were pretty good.“

We ordered the gyozas, miso soup, California roll, rainbow roll, and dynamite rolls and they were all fantastic and beautifully presented. Not too much rice and avacado/tempura/cucumber have always been very fresh. The hot mamacita roll is a favorite of mine as well as theavacado roll and cucumber roll.

“Benicia has so many restaurant choices. This one is a must try! A small family owned Japanese restaurant for dine in and take out. You can sit at the small Sushi counter or at a table in the small dining room. The people are nice and friendly and they have a good selection of Sushi Rolls and other dishes. We made a reservation just in case. Free parking is on the street. Casual dining for family, business and date nights.
