“The Great White Breakie was delicious, I loved the combination of goat cheese and sourdough. The folded eggs were also really good, especially with the bacon slices. Overall the flavors were really well balanced on this plate, and I enjoyed how you could mix & match the different ingredients to your taste. The Caesar Salad was very good, would recommend adding grilled chicken on the side. We also liked the coffee here, especially the Shaken Iced Latte!

Great food and great service too. The atmosphere is also very relaxed, perfect for brunch but I could also see this being a nice dinner place too.“

“This is a great place to enjoy continental food. I was very surprised at how authentic the Indian food I ordered tasted. I ordered the butter chicken which came with naan, rice and chapatis. Butter chicken. It tasted like professional style and was very nice looking. It even surpassed some of the Indian restaurants I have tried before.“

“My cousin and I came here on a Friday evening around 6:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised that we were seated right away with no reservation. The vibe was beautiful from the moment we walked in. The lighting was cute, there was a pool in the center of the space, and everyone was dressed up which added to the atmosphere without feeling too formal.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the start with lots of smiles and easy conversation. Our waiter was incredibly kind and genuine. The only issue was that he forgot to put in our order the first time so he had to come back and take it again. When the food came out he forgot a few things but he seemed a bit overwhelmed so maybe it was just a busy night.
The food came out very fast and it was absolutely amazing. Everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The menu had so many good options that it honestly took me a while to decide what to get because I wanted to try everything.
Overall it was a great experience. There were a few bumps in service but the overall vibe and quality of the food more than made up for it. I would definitely come back.“

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. “This is my second time here and always met with amazing customer service. Bartender Jesus, and servers Maegan and Nicole are amazing, friendly, and accommodating. “I ate here late on a Friday night, and the food was incredible! I got the Banger with tater tots, and everything was delicious. The tots are seasoned and come with a green chile sauce and ketchup. The sandwich was hot, cheesy, and so flavorful. I loved the crispy shallots! There are only 4 seats inside, so there might not be seating if you go at a busy time. The employees were all friendly and the overall atmosphere was bright and fun. This place is a gem!“

Yet, everything about The Broadway is perfect. Banh mi like baguette bread, thinly cut turkey, and a sauce/seasoning combo that is actually perfect. Salty creamy with the best balance of veggies.

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had! I love this place and the people who work there!! They're like family now!“

“I like to dine solo and I know some places generally don’t vibe with that, so I keep a little of that in mind when I go somewhere new. I tried Linden last night because I’ve been craving some high-quality food that reminds me of home in the Bronx.

Let’s start with the good stuff. The food was crazy delicious. If I could buy the Sunset Salad prepackaged and eat it daily, I would! It had different textures, a little sweetness, some tartness, and the creamy flavor of the goat cheese that just made it impossible to leave anything left in the bowl. For my main, I had the Lobster Frites. It was good, but idk if it was $88 good. Plus I asked for something to go with the fries and they charged me an extra $4 for that. I was surprised by that because any sort of frites just normally with a sauce. They also didn’t have proper utensils for the lobster, which was not awesome. I made the best of it I could, but I feel like they should have been better prepared. My dessert was the bread pudding and it was special. I was doing my happy food dance most of the night despite the hiccups.

My server was okay, but it did seem like she didn’t really want to deal with me as a solo diner. I never even heard the specials and all of my drinks were empty by the time my dessert came out. She never once asked if I wanted anything more to drink. I dropped $200 by myself and it probably would’ve been more if I had been treated as kindly as any other groups there.

Overall, I’d recommend Linden, even if my service experience wasn’t the best. Maybe just go with someone else, so they treat you better.“
