“I came to Monterey for a self care day and decided to check out this cute little cafe =) I am happy I stayed through the longer line. I expected that meant good food. And it sure was. I noticed it was a one man show. He was super sweet to gifting us free bakalavas for the wait time. I lovedddddd the walnut and the apple cinnamon. I ended up buying 20 pieces for my drive home! I got the falafel and baba plate with the spicy lemonade. It was super tasty. What I love about his one man show, is the dedication to this place, his love of food. It is not your typical fast food culture, it is a come sit, talk, stay awhile, enjoy this food and good company kind of vibe.“

“Crystal Fish is my go-to when I want good value and tasty sushi. The setting isn't overly fancy but neither are their prices.

I took a star off of service because the last to-go order had a mistaken roll. I still enjoyed it. I've also seen mistakes on the bill when I ate in-house. Nothing egregious but I now double check.

“The food was SO good. Really wonderful presentation as well. We had the clam chowder, shrimp scampi and seared ahi tuna and shrimp salad. All of it was delicious and the view of the water was so pretty. There’s a separate gluten free menu too which one of us used. Great service! Highly recommend“

“We were long- time Casa Rosita fans ( the former name) and were quite pleased with the new owners menu, service and hospitality. A very welcoming staff with authentic dishes ( especially seafood plates) at a reasonable price. The owner, Francisco , wants customers to come, feel like family, eat delicious seafood plates as well as traditional items. Which we did! I highly recommend eating here.“

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.“

“I've lived in the area a while now and finally found this great winery tasting room! The staff was super friendly and the wines were very good. I especially liked the Pinot Noir, I have a weakness for a good Central Coast Pinot! I also enjoyed the Grenache and Barbera. We tried a charcuterie board which paired very well with the wine, the spiced pecans were amazing. We will be back!“

I won’t sit here and say it was a Michelin restaurant but that’s one of the things I loved about it, I didn’t feel like I was at just some restaurant, it felt cozy, homely, and instilled a nostalgia that sends one back to their childhood. “Came here while on vacation with my husband for dinner and twice for breakfast. The service was fantastic as well as the food. Fidel was super friendly, kind, and brightened our vacation so much. He is very knowledgeable about the area and wanted to steer us in the right direction when visiting places. His service was outstanding and his team was awesome, too. Next time we vacation in Monterey we hope to see him again! The food, as I mentioned earlier, was fantastic. I got the cauliflower steak and was surprised how good it was. My husband got the award-winning clam chowder bread bowl and he said it was the best he’s ever had. Normally restaurants will load up their chowder with potatoes, but in his bowl, there were plenty of clams. We finished off the night with the chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream to pair with the wine we brought. Amazing combination.
