“my mom used to take me here when i was a little kid. I live out in Martinez as an adult, but I come all the way because this place is worth it. The BEST! If you are looking for authentic and delicious food, with even better people who treat you so well, this is the place for you. You create your own meal if you like or choose off of their menu with a special section for fusion items. I’m glad they’re still open. I remember it wasn’t sure they would be during pandemic. “We were gifted our first ever Bake Sum box. After trying just one bite of a Yuzu meringue bun I knew I needed more. Ordered our second BSB last week and shared amongst the roomies, huge hit. Well baked, not too sweet, great flavor combinations. 10/10 would recommend the Bake Sum box. If you can’t grab a box, you can grab al a cart day of pick ups just to tide you over until you can get a box 😋“

“The food here is always on point and the service is top class, we dine here at least once a month and we have always had great service and food the only issue I have is I feel like the restrooms are often neglected with so much traffic I feel like someone should be cleaning those at least every 30 minute to an hour that is actually my only issue with this place. i do realize its only two small restrooms and the place is always packed but even when its nto packed the restrooms still need some attention.“

“I visited Sirene on 4 occasions during my last visit to Oakland (only 48hours!) Each time was great in its own right. From excellent specialty coffee and breakfast/lunch fare, with a mix of self service made easy and convivial. At dinner gets even better - exotic and exquisite food and wine (what a list! Even by glass), well portioned and presented, all paired up with excellent service from David - guiding you from food through wine and sequencing it all for ultimate delight. A piano which a patron played on during my last lunch made it all the more memorable. A must try neighbourhood gem!“

“AMAZING. Loved the service and coffee. I ordered the Sampaguita latte with whole milk and it was the perfect blend of not too sweet, not too bitter, and balanced coffee-milk ratio. I find a lot of lattes to be too light on the espresso but they have nailed it. My latte was fragrant and bright with almost chocolatey notes after the initial floral scent.“

The ice cream was SO GOOD (I got strawberry matcha with a waffle cone) and flavorful. Their ice cream flavors are so different that gives them a unique advantage compared to other shops. “I saw the ratings and didn't know what to expect. Brought my family here to avoid the Berkely Parents' Weekend crowds. I was so pleasantly surprised the quality of the food and service. The roti is so fresh - perfectly crispy and chewy. The spices on the food and house coconut dipping sauce offered so much flavor - we were all blown away. Our kids loved the Thai Tea. “Cute little restaurant. We ordered cucumber salad, bbq chicken set and bbq char siu set. Everything tastes so good. Very very high food quality. A lot of flavors. The spicy and numbing cucumber salad is the BEST I have had in the US. Not exaggerating.

“Its hard to find a good jianbing in the bay but this little shop in chinatown hits the spot. Its a hole in a wall shop so the only seating you will find is the bench they set up near their shop. Its a nice grab and go place with friendly staff“

My mom who visits from out of state has bought a tote bag, hat, and sweatshirt from Redfield just so she can flex to her friends back home how awesome this bar is. “Hard to reserve seats at this 8 seat only Omakase behind an unmarked door in Alameda. Led by a quality, experience, and diner education obsessed chef who personally selects and imports most of the seafood from Japan.

It is a personally catered omakase bar service of very high quality. They also have a lovely sake selection.
