Well baked, not too sweet, great flavor combinations. 10/10 would recommend the Bake Sum box. “This beautiful Thai restaurant is located in Danville. Yesterday we had project dinner in this restaurant. Liked the fish dish more than chicken dish . Thai Basil chicken was little sweeter in taste similar to teriyaki chicken. Shrimp tempura & whole Brazino fish fry was awesome in taste similar!“

“I visited Sirene on 4 occasions during my last visit to Oakland (only 48hours!) Each time was great in its own right. From excellent specialty coffee and breakfast/lunch fare, with a mix of self service made easy and convivial. At dinner gets even better - exotic and exquisite food and wine (what a list! Even by glass), well portioned and presented, all paired up with excellent service from David - guiding you from food through wine and sequencing it all for ultimate delight. A piano which a patron played on during my last lunch made it all the more memorable. A must try neighbourhood gem!“

“Cute little restaurant. We ordered cucumber salad, bbq chicken set and bbq char siu set. Everything tastes so good. Very very high food quality. A lot of flavors. The spicy and numbing cucumber salad is the BEST I have had in the US. Not exaggerating.

It’s counter service and they have discounts for cash. Staff is very friendly. Great neighborhood restaurant for everyday eats. Would come back again when we are in Berkeley next time.“

“Yeah this place is super fun. As far as oyster bars in the east bay I can’t think of a better spot. The decor is super cool sweet mix of modern meets east coast fishing house. The service was great and the oysters tasted great. When I come back I think I’ll try the fish and chips. The couple next to us got them and I was super jealous. The wine selection is also really good, small but it has 3 options for every type, what else do you need???

“This is a good, casual KBBQ experience for a group. Not the tastiest or the best bang for buck, but definitely serves as a good fix.

We had a reservation for five and a toddler on a Friday night and were seated pretty quickly. Parking spaces were tight in the lot but fortunately there was a lot of street parking a couple blocks away.

We ordered the supreme set A, a seafood pancake, corn cheese and bossom to share. Between us we shared a grill and had our designated cooks at the table (which is how we prefer it but some might prefer a place that cooks for you). The highlight was easily the galbi (as if often is) and we did wish that the bossom was a little less dry. The others were good (as expected) but nothing to write home about. The banchan was also very standard.

Service wise, the waiters were a little slow to take our order and to give refills (for water, lettuce, etc.). Though, the yogurt soju special for our friend’s birthday was a really nice touch.

Like most KBBQ places, it’s helpful to bring your own bags for your clothes as the hoods aren’t the strongest, and it can get loud, but again - it’s a fairly standard experience.“

OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. “Crazy Block Cheese is my new favorite BBQ spot in Oakland! I love everything about this place the anime artwork is dope, and the atmosphere has great energy. The owner, Ben, was really friendly and enthusiastic. He takes time to engage with all his customers and takes pride in the fresh-made food and sauces.

My wife and I ordered the three-protein combo meal, and it was more than enough for both of us. We had the beef rib, brisket, and pulled chicken, all were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sauces were hella good too. For sides, we got the mac and cheese and cornbread. They accidentally gave us collard greens at first but Ben fixed it right away, no problem. The cornbread was also really good! The beef ribs and brisket is my favorite.

This is hands down the best value meal you can get. Most BBQ spots overcharge and leave you disappointed, but here you get high-quality food at a fair price. I also love that they use local ingredients. Great food, great vibe, good music, great people perfect spot to bring friends or family.“

Frankly, the young lady who served us wasn’t very warm or fun to sample with…but the lady in bibs felt like the owner and was super friendly and helpful.

Only suggestion: get rid of the flavorless, mass produced Heineken 0 as your only non alcoholic beer option and support a craft brewery that makes great tasting N.A. beer (such as Fieldwork and their Headliner N.A. IPA, Athletic Brewing’s IPA and their lager, and Best Day Brewing’s Kolsch to name a few). There’s also some really exceptional non alcoholic aperitifs and spirit alternatives on the market now that can be used to make some complex N.A. cocktails that would balance out your juice-forward mocktails. 👍

“The house curry with seafood was AMAZING!!! The seafood was incredibly fresh and the flavor of the curry was PERFECT! I also ordered the crab rangoons - made with real crab meat and the filling was buttery. I’ve never experienced crab rangoons that good! The host, a gentleman, always cracks me up! He’s such a pleasure to chat with.“

“I really loved the Lao Special menu. You can order small portion of diverse foods. I ordered several items I have never eaten before, and they were all fantastic. The fermented pork sausage was the most "out there" dish from an American point of view: I didn't even know such a thing existed. Nice interior, and the service is great. This is some of the best Laotian food I've tried in the Bay. It turns out the portions are pretty generous, so I took soke home for another meal.“
