We were searching for a place with not only good food but also the right ambience, as so many outdoor spots can be spoiled by traffic noise or the distraction of pedestrians. This restaurant turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The back patio is a hidden gem—surrounded by trees, with one growing right through the deck beside our table. It created a peaceful, unique setting that made the meal feel special. The experience went beyond the setting, though. The service was warm and attentive, and the food and drinks were excellent from start to finish. Everything came together to make for an exceptional evening. We left feeling delighted and already know we'll be returning—this is a spot we plan to become regulars at.“

So I pre ordered their “To Go Box” Raquel was absolutely helpful and professional when corresponding to my inquiries. Had it delivered directly to the hotel and it was waiting at the front desk (refrigerated in the back) when we arrived. The hotel staff said this was the best and most beautiful charcuterie box she has ever seen! Oh how we enjoyed it once we were up in our room! Highly recommend and would definitely order from them again when in town!“

This is a family owned business, and the owner spent much time traveling and working in hospitality overseas in a variety of different places,. The menu really highlights his comfort, creativity, and expertise in different cuisines. There were so many unique items to choose from, and one of the things I loved was that they had many gluten-free options clearly labeled on the menu. I highly recommend checking it out!“

“Totally worth the drive to fish and see Barbara when they open for lunch.. Barbara is totally awesome. Cash only don't worry. There is ATM in the back. Large food and alcohol selection. We had no problems finding a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of amazing outside seating looking at the lake. Side note my friend comes here occasionally and fishes on the straight. He took me here today and we almost caught a Sturgeon together.“

I had the Mango 🥭 Avocado 🥑 Shrimp 🍤 Ceviche it was like an explosion of flavors in my mouth, I couldn’t stop eating it. Great tacos 🌮 everything was beyond my expectations. The busser was clearing the table as we were sitting there and would reach his hand out to each person waiting for us to hand him our dishes.“

“OMG. I’m a sushi lover and this is my new favorite lunch spot. Happened to be in the area for lunch, which just happens to be their happy hour! We ordered one of everything on the happy hour menu and were BLOWN AWAY. Soooo good, we ordered 2nds of most of the items. Floored how good the oyster mushroom tempura on their HH menu is. Like. Chef’s kiss! All of the fish items in HH were top shelf. So good, we ended up ordering multiples. Staff was so helpful and happy. Can’t wait to come back.“

“My wife and I dropped into La Ezkina recently to try a restaurant we have not visited previously. The place was completely empty when we walked in and the workers seemed thrilled to have customers. Our service was excellent and the food was good but it was such a bummer to see nobody else there. It must be so hard to run a restaurant these days. The bar completely dominates the middle of the restaurant and I found it distracting. In a way, it’s not clear if they want to be a bar or a restaurant. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point. Hopefully others will try it too.

“Visited Crush'd for my birthday and it exceeded expectations! The atmosphere was great and you can tell the everything is well thought out, from the decor to the tableware.

We both went with a wine flight and had excellent recommendations from Jamie. Decided to splurge on the sturgeon caviar and it was served with the perfect accoutrement, highlight of the evening. Our server Shane recommended the duck fat potatoes (the Aioli was mindblowing) and Wagyu Tartine, both were fantastic!

The food is wonderful: we started with a dozen oysters and crab cakes and both were delicious (we were a party of four); our entrees were the excellent blackened halibut (one guest did not care for the spicey topping, so cut that off, but the other guest devoured the fish with gusto), the sea bass was perfect, and the scallop risotto outstanding; everything was prepared beautifully and plated beautifully, too; portions were just right; for dessert we shared the lava cake and butter cake to rave reviews. Service was excellent: Robyn was our server and she was everything you hope for in that position; she timed everything nicely; she made great suggestions; she was warm and friendly; she checked for our satifaction with each course; she made sure our water glasses were filled when needed; and she did not rush the end of the meal after presenting the bill. If I had NOT ordered an expensive bottle of wine, our bill would have been about $350. For the vibe of the restaurant, the quality of the food, and the excellence of the service, Tides is a geat value; I highly recommend Tides!“

“Nice little neighborhood bar in downtown Benicia off first street. Open pretty late but still closes earlier than 2am. They have late night eats, TVs, and a happy hour menu. The bartenders were friendly and helped us with our drinks and their food menu didn’t look bad. Both indoor and outdoor space. Parking isn’t too hard as there is plenty of street parking around this area. Their starburst, gummy bear, and green tea shots during happy hour are $5 and pretty tasty and sweet.“

Because we live close by it is a place that we have been coming to for so many years that we remember when the Bistro was only the bar area and the restaurant was the Duck Club. And we always enjoy the service and ambiance. But on a recent visit we had a poor experience with the food. The staff was definitely attentive in trying to remedy things but the kitchen was having an off night. Last week we were craving their delicious onion soup so we made a reservation to go back. From the gracious personal greeting from the hostess to the service and food in the dining room everything was outstanding. And we were told that the staff had been briefed about our previous visit. Both the manager and the assistant manager came by to thank us for coming back and giving them another chance. You can be sure that we will continue to be loyal customers and we are sharing this experience with friends so the word will get out. Stick with anything canned or be around tap unless you want to just do shots. I would be happy to pay a couple more bucks for an actual craft cocktail made with quality made by a mixologist. Besides that, the customer service is awesome, the rules and regs are more than understandable, and when they bring in live music you're into, it's a really good time. Overall it's a great place, just stay away from the cocktails... Unless you're a Jack and Coke kind of person, then I will not be having cocktails with you regardless lol.
